I dye my hair and its quite harsh on my hair too as its bleached. i know when i was pg with my boys i only had it highlighted so the peroxide didnt touch my scalp but this time im not sure what to do as i dye the whole lot now and my roots are around an inch long. The last time i bleached it was before xmas and before i knew i was pg but i would have been pg iykwim. i was doing abit of reasearch and they say its fine to dye your hair after being 12 weeks pg so u should be fine. If your still abit worried try using a semi perminant if your dark as these are good to cover greys for a short period of time and dont have too many chemicals in! HTH

sunset - my mam got one for xmas but i know the only book files she gets on it are the freebies. i dont know wether she goes to a certain site to get them from but i know the ones she's had on it she hasnt paid for them.

Sunset - hope you are all well for a long time now!! Glad serena is getting better x x as for kindles I only really read in the bath so kindles are no go! I get alot of books from my mum and anything i do buy comes from amazon as usually cheap....it annoys me kindle downloads seem to be pushing up book prices though. nothing like hold ing a real book IMO

Peb - the advice for frequent release is to release at least once a day for 7-10 days but my DH could do that easily and was likely doing that when we conceived our boys so I felt we needed to step it up a gear.

Deaks- woohoo, that's awesome, such a relief, so happy for you. You can now relax a bit and start to enjoy the pg.

Thanks for your advice ladies about the scan, it is a free one as the clinic is a year old so I couldn't reschedule...maybe just go and get her to write it down (if they will lol!)

LMW- what a total pain about your car, it is such a hassle for you, just what you don't need, thank goodness you are all ok though.

sunset- super glad serena is well again, long may it last.

charlie- I can't believe I am there either...weird to be thinking about finding out. You always seem so far ahead of me and I think I have so much time to decide but suddenly I'm there, eek! Are you definitely finding out at the 4d scan? It's probably hard not to see!

Kell, I dye my hair, having it done next week to cover my grey!! lol It was last done when I was about 14wks pg. Think hitting 33 gave me 33 more grey hairs since fri!! I go to the hairdresser, she uses dye safe for pg women. I always highlighted my hair until end last yr when I decided to go back to all brown.

Zanacal, 4 sleeps till ur 4d scan, bet ur excited!!

AFM, had an 'annoying' day. Went to scan, told sonographer I was keen to hear babies weights and she didn't tell me this time! Went to see Consultant and she wasn't there, saw the registrar who WOULDN'T give me my section date!!!! Said "your only 29+5, still so much time" PANTS!!!!! I have kids to organise as it's the school hols beg April and Dh's work needs around 6wks notice!!! Consultant told me I'd be sectioned at 36wks, she told me 36-38wks today!!! what?? make up their minds!! Last week another doc told me 37wks!!!! Asked about the 'clicking' noise and was told it was "fluid" as the babies have the max amount of fluid they will have at the moment and I've to take it easy as there is a 50% chance I could go into labour over the next 2/3wks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking "WTF" into myself!!! I told the midwife my bloods were to be repeated since starting the Sytron Liquid and she disagreed with me until she read my notes!! Had ++protein in my urine, but since BP was ok and no swelling, they weren't concerned. I usually enjoy my hosp visits and so look forward to them, but not today :(

Oh my goodness Inglewood, what a nightmare! I can't believe they said you have a 50% chance of going in to labour in 2 or 3 weeks, as if you don't have enough to worry about - and now you don't even know when you'll have the babies. So frustrating and I hope your next appointment brings more answers than questions.

I am excited about Saturday but also slightly nervous about taking DS3 out for such a long day when I've only just potty trained him - he'd better not wee on the sofa in the ultrasound room (or worse!)!!

Ah Sunset, glad your little girl is on the mend now :-) My ds3 is still poorly, hes been tested for rotavirus which is a dirrareah bug which lasts 4 weeks! great!
My ds1 has a kindle, he LOVES it, hes such a book worm :-) DH downloaded a ton of books for him off a torrent site for free (oops, did i just say that) lol.

LMW, glad you are all ok after your car accident!! i hope the person that drove into you was very sorry!!

Oh Inglewood, stupid midwife!! hope your ok, take it easy over the next few weeks! even more reason to put your feet up ;-)

Kell I have relaxed my hair when pregnant which uses harsher chemicals than hair dyes as it chemicaly straightens your hair. But there are vegetable dyes you can use or henna if you are going darker. I love Henna but it smells and is so messy to put on gets every where. Lush do some great colours.

Good luck for Thursday indigo! I did see you on Monday but was wodling at snail pase through the church yard. Not a pretty site now as nothing fits me! Can only fit into my £15 fake uggs and might have to give into the tracksuit bottoms too soon. Only put on half a stone as well!

I was going to suggest henna as a dye. I used to dye red when I was uni but it did pong!

Inglewood - cross those legs! 30 weeks is a good gestation but would mean scbu - 34 would be a heap better as you might avoid scbu then. I wonder how much they make up as they go along. Some doctors really listen and some seem to presume that anyone without a phd has a iq of 10!

Deaks, they never told me my blood results! They were taken at wk 7/8 and I was never told the results. At my 12wk appt (when I found out there was 2 in there) she said "yes, ur levels were high" but I never asked anymore. LOL @ the liq root thought!!! x

Maybe, not long now...anymore 'contraction' feelings?? The doc told my the most vunerable time is 28-32wks for spontanous labour with twins and since I've never laboured past 2cm (with ds1) I am in shock!! Trying to be super conscious of what I do....she says taking the boys into town for haircuts and the dentist later!! Part of me wanted to shout out "I'm a nurse" as I never mention it to them and it's sad to say but sometimes u get spoken to a bit better!!! shocking I know! Take it easy....snails pace is best!!

Babymad, my friend told me to call and ask for an appt with the Consultant since I haven't actually seen her for a month, but I'm gonna wait till I see her 6th March and if it's her registrar then ask to see her also. Just explain dh might loose out on his 7wk leave if I don't get a date soon and plus, she told me 36wks is when she would be sectioning me, so he's organised those 7wks off around an approx date of just over 36wks pg. Bet he's a wee star and what better reward than seeing his new baby sister! It is quite stressful taking them out at first, even tho it's been years for me, I still remember the dread of going out at times and bag of clean pants!!

Inglewood- wow, that is hard work dealing with so many professionals who all have a different opinion. I don't think they really grasp how important it is for you, it's kind of a big life changing event for you but for them it is just another job. take it easy and will be praying they don't arrive too early.

Maybe- you take it easy too, definitely wear what is comfortable. My goodness, you are so close now!!

I decided to come out of hiding a bit more and say "Hello". I have been lurking for a few months, but didn't really have much to contribute.

I stopped taking the pill on 1st November and have since been waiting for ovulation and/or AF. I am currently temping to give me an idea of when ovulation has taken place, but so far nothing... We are hoping to attempt next cycle whenever this will be. I am still BF our son who will be 18 months old on Friday.

I have started temping on 1st November and FF counts this as CD1 although that's not strictly true as I did not have AF. FF says I am currently on CD114.:sigh:

Just needed to get this off my chest, I think as we are not telling anyone that we are hoping to TTC soon and the waiting is getting to me a little. Not stressing about it, but could really do with something happening in there.

Inglewood, could you just call your consultant and run past her/him what has been said and see what they say about c date etc?

Zanacal, just take some spare clothes,wipes and carrier bags lol, I remember those days, made DS sit on a towel lol

Hi Gecon, hope you get an af soon! Probably due to breastfeeding still, didnt get mine till a month or so after stopping night feeds and only feeding 2 times in the day.


Well I had a disatarous day, basically OH couldnt get Saturday off work so I had my private scan today and she kept looking between the legs saying the cord is in the way. I asked for a nub shot and she gave me a 3d pic front view showing nothing, no now have to wait till the 19 week scan unless I go back at 16 weeks, still think boy though lol

Chocolate, what a pain about your scan! Though i guess looking at the bubs from any angle (other than a 2d side profile) at 12 weeks would be inaccurate anyway really for gender guessing. Still keeping my fx its pink for you!

Indigo, thinking of you loads hun! You will be fine hun whatever the outcome and i have a good feeling for you anyway! Remember how much you love those 2 little boys and you will feel the same about this one regardless :) Will wear some pink and keep my fx for you!

Babymad, trying not to read anything into triple hcg levels as there are a million stories of women with high levels and both genders. Its not as though my level is through the roof anyway, just better than i expected! Got a scan this sat, cant wait! I guess i will start to obsess about ramzi next! It never stops does it! how are you hun?

haha yes deaks!! Daddy has bet blue just been looking at available appointments i could go friday for a gender scan so tempted but then thats £80 or wait and save it for the 4d which is £110......arrgghhhhhh but i cant see anytimes we can do all of us other than the one we booked!

Oh chocolate, that is SO frustrating....maybe they will give you another one for free since you didn't get a good shot? or one at 16 weeks. I know how you must be feeling.

Great news Deaks :-)))

I rang the docs for ds3's test results and no bugs were grown so hes in the clear for rotovirus, i took him back to the docs though as the diarrea hasnt stopped although it has eased up a bit. The doc checked him from head to toe, even managed to get a wee sample which was interesting lol. She said he may be temporaily lactose intolerant caused by the bout of diarrea, said i should try n breast fed n cut out formula!!!! he does half n half at the moment, told her theres no way i can produce an extra 20 oz's over night!! or to put him on lactose free milk, she said aslong as hes putting on weight then not to worry!! well i was worried so found a clinic which was doing weigh-ins today and spoke to the health visitor, he weighs 14lbs!!! and she said what the doc had told me was wrong?!! that breast milk has lactose too and to carry on doing what i was doing, that he's perfectly healthy and a very happy boy, said to change to another brand formula if it doenst clear up b4 thinking of putting him on lactose free! ahhhh
Anyway, im hoping he is on the mend now, its 9pm and hes only been twice today bless him so fingers crossed.....

I was just wondering what HPT's you ladies are using / have used? Are there any good ones or any to avoid? We have only ever used a CB Digital one, which was great, but since Atomic recommends testing once a month when you are on supplements I am wondering if I should get some cheaper ones. :think:

Petal your poor lil chap! I remember when ds2 had a sickness bug. Dh went to Germany for the weekend and ds2 was hurling from the moment he left. He wouldnt eat or drink and didn't poo for a week. Finally he got seen on the childrens ward and they was talking of putting a tube in him but had no beds so was phoneing round the London hospitals. A consultant saw us and helped me force fluid into him with a syringe as he was so dehydrated they would not discharge him. About five hours later he did the biggest poop ever which flowed out the top of his nappy all over dh! unbelievably I had no change bag with me (social services take note...)

Such beautiful memories - I love being a mum! (and I'm doing it all again??!!)

I've got and ordered henna hair dye, my hair is almost black naturally so I've got a dark colour, hopefully it'll look ok, I guess only time will tell! :)
We have our 20 week scan next Friday, dp mum wants to come with us, I'll have to ask I'm not sure how many people the hospitals let in.

Can I ask you ladies..... twice today I have see *stars* and my right eye went all blurry... my BP on tues was fine at 120/70, so not thinking it's that and did although I did have ++protein in my urine, Ialways have + protein, even when not pg. I'm just being paranoid right????? Never had vision prob's in pg. I did bend down to put something in the bin, but didn't go down or come up too fast..... Maybe more anaemic??? will keep an eye on it! (pardon the pun)

Inglewood I always get that in late pg even if I just look down then look up so I think it sounds normal. You x litres of extra blood now. However still worth getting bp checked. Twins up your odds of pre eclampsia. However it really dosent sound like it but not worth ignoring x
