I'm not an animal person and can imagine nothing worse than having to clear up puke and poo that isn't your child's ;-s
I'd use the preggie excuse and get rid of it now!!

Omg when I wasted with my first two we had our family dog I still lived with my parents and I couldn't handle him lol I hated him with the passion! And now when I think back I feel so bad for yelling and screaming at him when I was preg lol
I would never own a dog again tho. I'm not a dog person I don't like them

Lol I hate indoor animals!! I just feel like its adding another child/baby!! That is the LAST thing I need right now i already have a toddler that chews on everything and breaks everything and I'm gonna have to potty train!!i don't need a dog too! But my boys want one so bad so I told my oldest that when he is 12 we can get one, so he can take care of it! I want horses! I love horses and I know they area lot of work, i used to work at some stables! But they don't mess with your house and personal space!

I have two cats and they are very low maintence! Just feed them and DH cleans the litter box... Dog you have to worry about leaving the house for too long and stuff like that and yes it's like having another child to have a dog! I used to work in stables too :) I miss it

Thorz, I'm a horsey person too. I had to sell my horse quite a few years ago - he was a lovely boy! He was huge - 18hh!! A gentle giant though, but he was an ex point to pointer, so anything more than a walk in an open field meant he'd take off and hedges and fences certainly wouldn't stop him!
Miss him, but not all the work of looking after him!

Can't imagine fitting pets in! work, boys, guides, church commitments feel like I've got more than I can handle on at mo ;-s
-
Oh I can't wait until the day we can afford a few horses! I will spend all day with them while the boys are in school! Right now it isn't possible to afford them plus we live I the suburbs so no space for one! But once DH finishes his residency Im going to insist we buy a home with land!!

Guess I'm the odd one out here... we are a dog family lol. We used to have 3 but 2 passsed away from old age and our dog still living is in poor health :(. He's 13 and had a rough start in life (he's a rescue dog) but we have given him 11 years of love and the kids adore him. We'll all be sad once he's gone but I have to admit that with a 4th baby on the way I told DH I wanted to take a couple of years "off" from any pets before we get another dog. Here he is in his younger days with DS1... he is a big baby lol.

My biggest issue with dogs is that it's like a second child especially when they are young. If we would have had the dog before kids and already gotten through the puppy years then I wouldn't mind one! I loved my dog growing up!
