Short luteal phase

I've got a nasty cough and I'd just coughed and it came out. Perhaps a teaspoons worth? Dark red... If it wasn't for the short LP I'd put it down to implantation bleeding and not worry (too much). I'm lying down now and hoping I don't have anymore, I guess only time will tell. Did another test and the line is strong (for 12dpo) but of course it wouldn't necessarily disappear right away. Annoyingly I can't gauge anything from temps either as they are still the higher range of normal due to being a bit ill.
So far there hasn't been anymore but as I said I'm laying down. I don't feel crampy or anything.
From my research bleeding in early pregnancy is pretty common and about 50% of cases are fine. Lets hope I fall into the fine category!! I will update later.

Today is still the same day for me, so I'll tell you in 12hrs! ;-)

I agree I know lots of women who bled during pregnancy and atomic even said she had what was identical to full af with her ds3. I really hope it's just normal bleeding, strong tests are good, my chemicals were all after light tests and they never got stronger, each day would be the same then I'd have a temp drop, get af and they would fade overnight.

Did you call or see your doc? I think it's a great sign you still have dark tests and high temp despite the possible fever covering it up (how typical, of all the times you need a reliable temp).

I mentioned them to my fertility specialist and that's why he gave me clomid. I'm on it for two more cycles after this one before we start investigating other issues. I can only assume this possibly happened in the past but as I never temped, and always had erratic cycles perhaps I never knew.

No af, and still feel pg, major nausea today. Time will tell. I have ulcers in my mouth today. Ouch! My temp this morning I took an hour early so it *may* be off, but I also had a restless night. I woke and took it 2hrs early too and it was the same so I don't think another hour would have changed things...

I'd say its darker than the one this morning.

How many dpo are you now then? No Af is surely a very good sign? You have the symptoms. And if you took it after a restless night and early that could totally mess up the temps. I think when I have restless nights I sleep with my mouth open and the temps are significantly lower. I just stay still with my mouth closed for 5 mins or so and test again...

I spoke to a doc but as expected they pretty much said wait and see and it could go either way. She said to test after AF is due in a few days. She did say it is quite common. Since this morning I've stayed in bed and I've not had anymore. When I wipe I can get a little brown but not much.

I was wondering if your chances of spotting/implantation bleeding might increase with the number of babies you have due to the cervix always being a little open. It was after a very cough the blood came out...

That's a lovely dark line. How many dpo now? I think it's a good sign. Aren't you also bf'ing? Would that cause some blood due to hormones (in a safe don't worry about it way)?

I am 10 dpo today (day of temp drop). I do vaginal temps so can't be mucked up as easy, but being restless and early still can change things. I felt cold all night though and usually I feel hot after ov. Worried today as I don't know how much is in my head and how much is real. I think my skin is better not worse (damn!) and I haven't been as thirsty (damn!!). But I was very very nauseous and tired (yay!!). Haha

Af is due 10 dpo when not on meds, 12-13 dpo when I was on soy iso, and this is first cycle on clomid so who knows!

Ps totally going to bed now just so I can wake up quicker and temp/pee on a stick! Haha

Thinking of both of you! I think things still look promising for both of you so don't loose hope!

Tree - I know bleeding can be so scary, I've never experience it myself in any of my pregnancies but I've heard of others and it's definitely natural to worry. However, there are lots of reasons for bleeding and I think the fact that it hasn't continued is a good sign. That BFP is also nice and strong although like you I don't even know what happens to a BFP if something is in the process of happening. I'm all worried myself too.. not for any particular reason but just because. I took a test again today which was darker than the control line so that's comforting, but again.. not sure if that even means anything. It's so frustrating because my symptoms constantly come and go all day. One second I feel fine, the next I'm exhausted. Or I'll have a random wave of nausea then feel okay. My boobs are a little more sore than the past days so hopefully that means some hormones are pumping!

Meeks - I can't wait to hear how things are when you wake up. So funny that your on the complete opposite schedule being that you're in Australia! I'm really hoping your temp is back up and things are looking good! Fingers crossed for both of you!!!!

Urgh temp is the same, still a normal post o temp for me but down from the spike I had around my positive test. I think I lost this one. 11dpo and my FMU tests are neg on frer and ic.

My skin has also cleared up. :-(

I thought for sure Clomid would make this one a sticky one for you. Are you already thinking about what you'll do for the next cycle? Will you talk to your doc again or just give it another go with the clomid? I'd say if ovulation/conception isn't the problem, and clomid didn't help implantation happen, then maybe another drug would work better (or there's another issue that needs dealt with first... do you know if you have any clotting issues?). But I'm no doctor, just been reading online way more than is good for me. :)

I saw a fertility specialist when we'd be trying 10 months (I told the GP it'd been a year because I just knew after 3 chemicals there was something odd, and wanted a referral). The fertility specialist checked my charts etc, and put me on Clomid because I o very late, and he wanted to bring o earlier, and also because my luteal was very short (10 days before I started soy iso, 12 days after). So Clomid wasn't to help implantation, if anything it can weaken the lining. The goal was to bring o earlier and lengthen luteal, therefore strengthening the lining BEFORE implantation could happen. So he put me on Clomid and gave me 3 cycles on it before we assess DH's sperm count, and if that comes back fine I will have a HSG. So this month was my first on clomid, and I have two more. I'll play around with when to take it, I did 3-7 this month, so i'll try 5-9 next month. I was hesitant to do 5-9 first go because when I did soy iso 5-9 I didn't o until cd 24. This month with clomid 3-7 i o'd on cd 20 which used to be normal for me. So in a way it did bring o back, from cd 24 to cd 20, just not sure it came back enough. The specialist said we need to try and get o back to cd14.

He dismissed the idea I could be low progesterone, not sure if it was because he doesn't believe progesterone is a issue at all , or just that he doesn't believe its an issue for me. He saw all my charts and had a good look at them too so I trust him. He's known to be the best fertility specialist in our area so I trust him (for now at least!!).

Since TTC has gone on over a year now I really have to be careful with too long on le. I've had 2 x 37 day cycles and the rest between 22-32 days but o keeps getting later and later so I just don't want to loose it alltogether. Dream encouraged me to ease up on le while on clomid, and this past month I swayed pretty hard, also for every month prior. So this coming month my plan is to loosen up on it. This is going to kill me though because I really believe in le. But maybe I just can't get pg on it. Maybe i'm only built to have boys, who knows! I'm growing tired of TTC and its taking over my life and having a negative effect on my family, so something has to give. I'll stick to 3 meals (bring in a girl friendly breakfast for first time, as skipping that made me moody and i'm over it, plus the stats aren't great anyway), no snacking, small portions but I'm going to not log everything in myfitnesspal this month, I think that aids my obsessive nature. Plus I know le by heart now. I'm going to have to eat meat at dinner at least 3 times a week as my mum is coming back to live with us for a while and no way will I be able to eat a different meal without her noticing and she would NEVER condone LE diet. Way too into nutrition! So i'll eat very small servings of the meat dinners and larger ones of the le friendly ones we have. Since i'm the cook in our house I can tailor it without her knowing, but not as heavily as I have in the past. I'll keep on diet coke too.

I need to wean off aspirin once af arrives. Anyone know the fastest safest way? I want to give it up this month.

Meeks I'm sorry about temps staying the same. But isn't the fact you've still not got AF a good sign? I remember you saying you had pos tests but really faint, could they have have been evaps? I don't understand too much about how clomid works but I hope that if it turns out this isn't the month that next one is!

Mrsblakley glad to hear your tests continue to get darker. I think everything is absolutely fine. Enjoy the days you don't feel ill, you'll wish you had when/if the real morning sickness kicks in. How many dpo are you now?

Haven't had any more blood since yesterday morning, just a little brown discharge this morning... Hoping everything is alright. I have such a terrible cold that I'm sure the constant coughing is pushing stuff out (the blood and discharge). My temps remain silly high with this low grade fever so can't read anything into that. Took another test this morning and the line is even stronger! Really just need to shake this silly silly cold now. It's boring!!
