Good luck Emily!! And GeCon I hope you get something to report soon!!!
GeCon my due date is September 14, 2014 but I go for an ultrasound on Friday b/c my hcg level is really high so that may change. I am trying to not be anxious but I had my second beta drawn this AM and won't get the results until late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. REALLLLLLLY trying to stay positive but can't help worrying and hoping that we might see something on Friday. The nurse at my OB's office said with levels over 1200 we should see something - not sure exactly what that means. Of course, I was googling high hcg levels and apparently that could mean anything from twins to a molar pregnancy. I guess I have to wait and see if they doubled today before I really start freaking out!
Thanks for the info about lilypie!!
I wasn't added to the due dats list. My dd is 9/8. Can you add me GeCon?
Pumpkin, can I add you as one of each in the 1st post?
GeCon i wish i was as convinced as you are :). Go ahead and do that maybe staying positive will help!!
Pumpkin, I'd tell you honestly if I thought otherwise, but I really don't think there is anything to worry about. When is your next scan to re-confirm?
On the 20th. 1w6d to go. Next scan would be the anatomy scan on feb 12th.
You girls are just the best!!!
I agree with GeCon. I think it's safe to say B/G twins.
I have a scan on Friday so I'm hoping to get an actual dd. But according to LMP it's September 8th. Thanks.
Yay Emily!! Hopefully your baby is already in your arms or will be very soon!! Can't wait for an update!!
Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will have a nub shot to post for guesses. I am nervous!! Praying that I see a girly nub tomorrow!!
Action stations on here at the moment! Good luck Emily, come on wee one!
Pumpkin I know how you feel with the lingering doubt but everything crossed its b/g for you. When is your next scan?
Looking forward to the pic TTCPink, everything crossed for you too!!
Went to see the MW this morning, no change from last week. He was sleeping when listening to his heartbeat, so much so that the doctor wanted to do a scan to make sure all is well with him. Thankfully no problem at all, just a sleepy baby this morning. Meant I got to see him again on the screen, which was lovely, although I'm now at the point where I'd rather see him outside and cuddle him.
39 weeks and it appears I have n ow moved onto a watermelon...
And why is it that people feel that it is okay to comment on a pregnant lady's weight?
I have already had: "So you are having twins?" twice this week and "Over the last few weeks the weight has really gone on, hasn't it?" I mean seriously... I have ONE baby in my belly who is a week before his due date... what do people expect?
Back from my doctor appointment with no gender clues. He did a quick scan but it was not a profile shot. I was able to see the heartbeat and everything looks good. Looks like I will have to wait until my ultrasound at 20 weeks to find out gender. It's so hard to wait!! Attachment 16162
Oh, what a shame about the lack of gender clues, TTCPink. But great news on all being well with the baby. Is a private gender scan at 16 weeks an option at all?
I am right here with you TTC. Glad to hear everything is good that's all that matters. I can't believe how far the two of us already are I bet the rest of the time until we find out gender will fly by. Your little one looks so tiny, it's crazy how much of a difference two weeks make. At 15+2 we were not able to get the full bodies in the picture . It was so hard to understand what we were looking at and what baby the part belonged to. Whenever we tried to watch one baby the other one would jump into the picture.
I take it as a good sign that we haven't heard from Emily yet, I bet she is cuddling her cute baby girl already. Can't wait to hear what name you have chosen and see pics Emily.
So who is next? GeCon?!
Meeks I don't know if DH will make it to the next scan but if he does I will ask him to film it. I have no idea any more which baby was baby a and which one was baby B but the "girl" is the one who is closer and would be born first.
Did anyone have trouble walking during pregnancy? I never had that problem with DS but this time my hips hurt like crazy. Some days I can barely walk. I told my OB but she has no idea what that could be and I am so scared it will get worse the more weight I gain.
Sun only one more night!!!!! I hope you'll be able to see the heartbeat tomorrow but don't be disappointed if you don't. At around 6 weeks every day can make a difference. With the twins we were able to see the heartbeats at 6w4d but my RE said we might not have seen it a day earlier. As long as you'll be able to see yolk sac and gestational sac everything is fine. Please update us as soon as possible. I am thinking of you.
Pumpkin, other than Emily there are still 3boys who was due on 29th December and 2lovelyboys who is due on 11th before me.
Sorry to be MIA, but one handed typing is not my forte! Baby girl is quite the nurser...she is up to 8lb8oz from 6lb10oz at birth in just under 5 weeks time....and our visit yesterday with the ped. was just a simple consult of sorts. I will be keeping you all informed of what the big visit to Vancouver reveals next month.
Congrats to Bunnywabbit on that cute boy growing inside!!!! I can promise you he is going to steal your heart in every way!!!!!
I'm not sure about a private gender scan. Maybe I will call around. If it is pricey, I may just hold out for the 20 week scan.
I'm so excited for you!! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for a quick labor and smooth delivery for you. I can totally sympathize with the comments. I have already had people ask me if it's twins because I am showing so early!! Same thing happened with DS2. At the end of my pregnancy people stared at me a lot. LOL. He was 9.5 lbs. I had DS1 at 37 weeks, and DS2 was a week overdue. Those last four weeks made a big difference in how big I got!
Thanks, Pumpkin. The photo is actually just the top half of the baby. Not sure why he didn't take a whole body shot. Either way I would not have had any clues since it was not a profile image. Oh well. After being a little disappointed, I am convincing myself that I should be glad that I don't have the opportunity to nubcess. I would probably drive myself crazy staring at it and double guessing it during the next 6 weeks!
Sorry to hear about the pain in your hips. I'm not sure what that would be, maybe they are stretching and widening to support the twin pregnancy? I see a chiropractor and it helps greatly, if that's an option for you. Hopefully it gets better soon!
Sun, I will look forward to your update tomorrow!! Keep us posted on your sweet little bean. Still sooooo excited and happy for you!!
Pumpkin, check this website. You will have to scroll down to get to the info. about hip pain during pregnancy. It explains why it happens and what you can do to help relieve it.

Thank you so much for the link TTC. I tried to google it in German but couldn't find anything. I have never heard of it before but the site describes exactly what I am experiencing.
I'll see if I can find a good chiropractor maybe he can suggest something. The pain already is really strong and I am struggling to get simple things done some days I can't imagine how it will be at the end of the pregnancy :(.
She is here! A beautiful chunky girl weighing just over 4.2kg She took her sweet time (born at 41 weeks) and 32 hrs of labour but is worth the wait
The midwives were amazing and we are home safe and sound the same day. Will post photos soon.
Gecon, I had so many "aren't you enormous?" Comments too. It is hard for me to hold my tongue at the best of times so i know where you are coming from! I think most people mean it in a nice way but don't realise that hormones, media pressure and possibly a bit of paranoia are not things you want mess with!
Wonderful news, Emily. Congratulations on the birth of your little girl and welcome to the world, Emily-Baby. Can't wait to see some pics. And great news that you are home already. :)
YES to the pain, it's called PGP, pelvic girdle pain, and I found ob's completely useless in diagnosing it. One midwife told me I had sciatica so they aren't much better. I went to a physiotherapist and naturopath and both said PGP was the issue. I was given a belly belt, some exercises and a list of things not to do. Here is the brief rundown, see if this helps:
- Get a belly support band, especially if carrying twins, wear it whenever the pain is too bad, you may find it helps for a few hours but then feels a bit tight so I took mine off frequently and just used it when the pain was really bad
- Sit on a bit exercise ball at the dinner table or when you are at your desk. This strengthens the core muscles, and stabilises the pelvis, without putting too much pressure on anything that will aggravate it.
- You can google it too, but here are some key exercises: Yoga Poses and Exercises to Help Ease Pain from Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction | Birth Bliss
- Walking will most likely aggravate it, but *some* people find it helps. Try and see. In my case going for a walk made it much worse, but the other exercises particularly number 12 in the above link really helped.
- Don't get out of the car or up from a chair using the "britney" pose (you know, one leg out first, so you flash your underwear, or lack thereof). hehe. Move both legs with knees together and avoid putting pressure on that middle pelvic bone which can separate and make things worse
The exercise ball did wonders for me, it wasn't comfortable at first but after a few weeks of that and a few key exercises my back and hip pain was far better.
I had PGP with all 3 pregnancies but far worse with ds2, and it was misdiagnosed as sciatica so I was doing all the wrong things to "help". By the end with ds2 I could barely walk without holding onto the furniture, so believe me when I say these things DO work, because I got it earlier and worse this time, and am now 25 sleeps from meeting baby and can walk with almost no pain, which is a HUGE difference to last time.
I also had round ligament pain which you may experience with twins, google that too and see. It's quite painful but nothing to worry about. I haven't found a trick to help that yet.
People are just stupid and unfair sometimes. I have had very similar comments. Also, I find if I wear black, people start saying "oh my gosh you are sooooo tiny, all bump" but if I wear a dress, people say "oh my gosh you are huge, when WERE you due? You are way bigger than last time/me/my aunt's pregnant dog". har har.
Why is it even acceptable to comment on a woman's weight just because she's pregnant???? Nobody walks up to a friend on the street and says "wow, you've packed on the pounds in the last few weeks haven't you?", but they would say "oh wow you look amazing" if a friend had lost weight. In my book its nice comments, or nothing at all thank you very much!!!!
But people do it anyway, weather you know them or not, and it's begun annoying me even if they are being nice.
And for the record, my friends that had twins weren't any bigger than a 39-42 week pregnant lady, because twins almost always go early. Usually between 34-36 weeks, or some "lucky" (unlucky/uncomfortable) ones manage to keep them in until 38 max. So next time someone asks that just tell them where to go!
Firstly, hellooooo there cute baby! So glad everything is healthy and well.
Secondly, WHAT? NO GENDER CLUES? NOT-FAIR! So sorry you now have to wait. Thats really mean of the baby and gp isn't it? lol, but seriously, not fair. On the upside you save yourself nub-sessing. And trust me, even if you thought you wouldn't, you would. Not much of an upside, but you have to find what you can.
So when is the anatomy scan? No chance of private gender scan at 15-16 weeks?
Congrats Emily.....and add me to the list of the ones who are looking forward to seeing pix! Enjoy all the snuggles!!!
Congrats again emily, well done. 32h of labour and 4,2kg?! WOW!
Meeks thank you so much for all the info, you are awesome! At first I only noticed the pain whenever I did get up from a sitting position and it would only hurt the first few steps but no it gets worse the more I walk. When I do too much around the house it gets really bad and I can't walk without holding on to the furniture. I'll try to add in some exercise and see if it helps. Thank you so much!
When I hear what kind of comments you girls get on your weight I am kind of scared of what people are going to say to me!!
Thanks girls. You are making me feel much better about the comments. But I completely agree just because someone is pregnant does not mean the whole world has got a right to comment on their weight or shape.
As for PGP: I have had it for quite a while with this pregnancy, none at all with the 1st. I wish I had mentioned it on here and received meeks' advice as it sounds like it would have done the trick to help. I have now got the exercise ball out (to get baby moving), but I believe it may be too late to relieve the PGP. And you are right, meeks, I'm okay whilst on it, but as soon as I come off I walk like an old lady. I am the lady who can hardly get up from a sitting or lying position and then having to hold on to the furniture. Nevermind from playing on the floor with DS1. Glamorous and glowing whilst pregnant?... Hmmm, not so much here.
Congrats Emily! Welcome baby girl, 32 hrs is quite a marathon, well done ! Xxx
Congrats Emily! Hope you have a good journey home with your new family. She's gorgeous btw :)
Gecon those last few weeks of pg are always testing without stupid comments from mindless idiots! I hate how people think pg makes your body public property as it were. No-one wants to hear that they look fat - ever!!! I bet you're blooming & look wonderful with your almost ready baby bump.
I'd far sooner have the huge bump than the deflated balloon belly that I have now! Thankfully due to LE it's nowhere near as bad as it was with ds2. I remember being asked when I was due when ds2 was about 2-3 weeks old!

I was just wondering if anyone on here is in touch via FB or similar with 3boys and/or 2lovelyboys. Neither of them have been online for a while, which is obviously fine, but it would just be nice to know they and their little bundles are well.
