Well done on the weight loss DM! We always get KFC after DS1's swimming class on a Wednesday night and to begin with I didn't have anything but the past couple of weeks I've found a way to have something without blowing the diet - KFC isn't particularly exciting without chicken but at least I don't feel left out when they're all sat around eating it!
How about drinking full fat coke/pepsi to add calories if you're losing too much weight? You have the added knowledge that it lowers pH :D
As for sweets, like mocha said, I avoid chocolate (although I have some white chocolate) and stick to the vegetarian options but alot of sweets/diet cakes etc. are very low on protein and sodium so they're a good way of adding calories without the other stuff.
Swish- I had this long email all typed out and then the phone rang...and my computer timed out on me:( Anyway, I wanted to say I'm so sorry about your temps dropping:( I felt the same way last cycle when I first saw the big temp drop...but honestly after 4 days of this diet...I think I will be a sobbing mess if I don't get pregnant on our next cycle...which is why at this moment I think I'll be changing my sway to DTD through O. I just can't see myslef sticking to this for more than 2 months....I can myself sticking to a weight loss diet but it will have a whole lot more protein that this!! Isn't the probability of getting pregnant on any given cycle ridiculously low anyway? I really don't think that because you didn't get pregnant you necessarily need to change anything - unless you want to of course. I got pregnant on first attempt with DS1 and DS3 but with DS2 it was 4 months - which isn't a long time but felt like forever!!
CRAP:( Sorry :gloomy: And Zan is right...it's not that easy to fall pregnant...it's just that I for one have never really tried....so I know I will be a complete mess if this takes 6mos or something....Oh well.
Next cycle has to work!!! And yes I would say less Rephresh...maybe just 3 days before O...maybe have DH release closer to cervix, no jump and dump, DTD through O again....

Zani and dm, I know it isn't likely but that's depressing!!!!! It was first time after periods tpreturned with ds1 and first attempt with ds2 so although I didn't think it would happen like this (because ttc), a but of me thought it would!!! Never mind, onwards and upwards!!!
When I decided to do this diet, it was under the assumption that I'd only be TTC for one month, two tops. I managed to get through my first month of BFN ok, but I know I'll completely lose it if we don't get our BFP this month.
Me too, mocha, I cannot keep doing this, dh wants me to give up already!!! I think if I don't get pregnant the next time I'll stop vitex as several people on ig seemed to get pregnant after stopping vitex and it still had the sway affect for them
Really? Maybe I should stop Vitex.... Do you think it would make a difference for this cycle if I stop Vitex now (I'm due to O in about a week). I really, really, REALLY want this to be my month - all my friends and family are starting to worry about me after this dramatic weight loss, and dh is losing patience with all my diet quirks too.
I don't know, it depends if you'd regret doing that if you had a DS and not a dd, I just know I'd do it after 2 failed attempts!! I do know what you mean though as everyone is suddenly noticing I've lost so much weight and it's really hard to keep lying, I know my sister and mum are quite worried as to why I've lost so much and I really can't afford to lose any more. I'm making a real effort to eat enough calories and maintain my weight. Af due on sat/ sun, I'll feel better when it's here, waiting for the inevitable is miserable!!!
I believe the issue with Vitex is that it can act as a birth control if taken constantly (not AF-O) over a long period of time and that's why some have got pregnant the month after they stop Vitex. You should be ok if you're only taking it AF-O or maybe in your case swish, you may decide to take it for only the first 2 weeks of your cycle and then stop!
swish and mocha, I can sooo relate to all the things youīre saying. I also got pregnant with the boys on 1st attempt and hope to do so now aswell, knowing thatīs not very likely though. I will be fortunate enough of I O at all this cycle.
I decided I must handle a couple of months with people thinking Iīm anorexic, I want other peopleīs opinion to be less important to me than dreaming pink, but I also start doubting if Iīm not risking my health to much and if I would ever fall pregnant being this thin. Iīm giving myself this and the next cycle and see from there what to do. I need to stay at this weight. I already gave up a on reducing sperm count for this month to enhance changes of getting pregnant, with ovulation being this impredictable our cut-off has gone and DH canīt do frequent-so I guess he hasnīt got high testosteron, at least we have that going for us :worry: .
Indira - I think if (heaven forbid) I don't get pregnant this cycle, we'll stop doing frequent release too. I still think diet is the most important sway factor, so I will drop other things before I drop that, though the thought of doing this diet longer than another month at most makes me want to cry. I need to remember that I'm 36 turning 37 in a few months, so my fertility is already may be a bit reduced from what it has been in the past. To me swaying isn't worth it if it takes a year to get pregnant - I would rather leave it up to fate and hope for the 50/50 chance that others seem to have when it comes to having a girl. I'm not sure what my maximum time spent swaying will be, but I doubt it would be more that one or two more cycles, and even that's stretching it.
Agh!!! So many decisions!!! I think i will try vitex for just 2 weeks as this seems like a better idea, looking back no wonder I didn't get pregnant!!!
Try not to look back too much swish - you certainly had plenty of sex and didn't get hung up on cut-offs or O+12s :D I think it was just bad luck!
Here's me today:
Meal 1: 2 toasted mini pittas with cucumber and tomato, balsamic and feta cheese (sooo good!). Strawberries and cheese and onions crisps (not together!).
Meal 2: Spaghetti with parmesan cheese sauce and peas. 2 boiled sweets.
Meal 3: Tutti fruttis!
I also had a Costa light coffee (made with skimmed milk and sugar free vanilla syrup) - incredibly sweet and feels like a treat!
Lol about the meal of tutti fruities!!! I had your idea of a cucumber and feta wrap today, it was delicious!!, I also discovered goats cheese is a pretty good option for the diet

I was actually looking to buy goat's cheese when I bought the feta! I think I'll try something with goat's cheese at the weekend - any ideas? I'm not even sure I like it!
I've been eating a lot of goat cheese lately too - a little goes a long way taste-wise. Try it on a toasted sandwich with some roasted veggies - yummy!
I don't know what to do about Vitex either! Those of you who are taking it, how much are you taking? I've been taking 2 400mg pills a day - I'm wondering if I should just take 1? I did a couple quick Google searches and discovered that lots of women take Vitex to BOOST fertility, and they take it all month except for when they have af (they even continue it until they're 10 weeks pregnant, which I wouldn't do).

mochagirl - have you read the Vitex thread? There's quite a lot of information on there. Vitex does boost fertility in that it can bring back regular cycles when you don't have them, for example when breastfeeding. I think it's long-term use that can make it act as a contraceptive and taking when pregnant is a definite no! I take 1000mg per day. The first month O was delayed by 5 days but the next month I combined it with Saw P and O was a day early. I'm happy to have messed up cycles personally - I know where average, predictable cycles get me :D

I guess it must be if you take your temp first thing in the morning and the temp indicates that you've already ovulated. Are you still expecting Sunday?

I've been very good the past few days but just haven't gotten around to posting my daily intakes...
The calorie limit is quite easy for me to follow- I've been under 1300 each day, same with fats- not that much. Sodium is usually under 900 each day, sometimes in the 700's :) Protein.....well, that's another story :( 2 days ago it was 50, yesterday it was 57!!! OMG:( I find it so hard to take in so little protein:( Today hasn't been too bad but I have one meal left to eat and I'm already at 37. I think I'm going to have to do this slowly. Start with 50 and under and then gradually get lower and lower as weeks go on. I'm able to not snack at all now which is great:) And I found some yummy low fat frozen yoghurt popsicles:)
As for the vitex.....I brought my cycles back with 240mg of vitex once a day. Maybe I should take more? I've only taken it for 14 days on, 14 days off since I started it 3 months ago. My cycles were wacky to begin with so I just took it from AF for 14 days and then didn't start again until af showed. I'm still nursing though....and by nursing I mean my kid is latched on for half the day...LOL! Oh well....
And Swish- yes it's the day after the temp rise that you would call 1dpo. The lower temp the day before is O day:)

My hubby just texted me(he's away on business about 3 hours away from us right now) and told me he's going for sushi with his brother. Can you believe that I'm seriously in tears over this! I LOVE sushi and to combine the fact that he gets 5 days on his own, gets to sleep ALL night and eat whatever the hell he feels like other than no red meat or salting his food).....it's really pissing me off. And to tell me!!! What a jerk! I'm thinking that September can't come soon enough.
Sorry DM - I hate that my DH eats pretty much whatever he wants while I can't eat any of my favourite foods. He jas no sympathy, either, because he doesn't believe in any of this swaying stuff.

Supper: 3 half bagels with low sodium tomato sauce, sliced mushrooms and a bit of shredded low fat mozzarella. This was quite filling and felt like a big cheat, Peek Freans Lifestyle cookies
Snack/3rd meal: strawberries, raspberries, Pop Tart (I ate the Pop Tart before remembering I had those fries today - it brought me right up to my sodium maximum)
Calories: 1389
Protein: 38.7g
Sodium: 1085mg
So, I'm off to the cottage first thing tomorrow morning. AF is finally over, so we'll probably dtd tonight then whenever we get an opportunity while we're away :bigsmile: Should we use a condom until we get closer to O? Last month we dtd unprotected right from the end of af until the day before O, and I'm thinking I should do something like that again, especially since some days we might not be able to dtd (though I'll make sure dh still releases). Last minute advice?
I will be checking in here while I'm away, but not as often as normal. I'll be back on Tuesday evening, and hopefully O will almost be here by then. Wish me luck!

Dinner: rice with tomatoes, mushrooms & parmesan (would have been nice if I hadn't been heavy handed with the sweetener I added - blech!). A boiled sweet.
Snack: 2 caramel rice cakes.
I've got into the habit of having a boiled sweet or two after a meal and I quite like this - UK gals, Fox's Glacier fruits have 20 cals and not a lot else in them and are vegetarian (just in case you ever get bored of tutti fruttis!). I suspect Skittles are ok too ...
Zani, I can't buy tutti fruities anymore as I can't resist them and eat the lot!! I had a nasty tummy bug in the night last night so have just eaten what I can stomach today

Hi ladies! Dh and I managed day 1 of dtd with no bear attacks (though the mosquitos were pretty ferocious. :bigsmile:We're going to have to come up with a better solution because it wasn't very pleasant and there's no shelter anywhere so we were scared of being caught. I may just ask him to release tomorrow so I can take a day off.
We were traveling all day, but I tried my best to stick to the diet.
