Oh JC I'm so sorry you did not hear boy, I desperately want a girl and you desperately want a boy, it's like God has other plans and there is always a reason! We can help each other out come to peace together, I'm awake the crack of dawn again today with this stupid anxiety of the thoughts if telling everyone and thinking about rearing 4 sons ... stressed out!!!

Oh JC, I was certain you would hear boy [emoji20]! I'm so sorry this is DD3 [emoji25]!! The scan pic you posted looked so much like my DS2's, who we all thought was going to be a girl. He had a girlie skull and no clear boy bits at 12w2d. I had to come back 1.5 weeks later to remeasure his nasal bone (we had a Down syndrome scare), and we saw he was a he.
(((Huge Hugs))) Give yourself all the time you need and don't beat yourself up if it takes you until she's here to come to terms with this. We will all be here for you- know that we care!

Ok. So here is my bump pic as promised. I feel like I look massive [emoji85]!! I've only put on 11-12lbs, which is good for 23 weeks. I'm just carrying way different than I did with my boys. I'm used to a low, small bump until 30 weeks. I know I shouldn't complain, but I worry I'll look like a whale by 30 weeks at this rate!

Such a cute bump xx and very neat you look great.
I'm so glad I found out because I feel a little bit better as each day passes. And anytime I feel a bout of anxiety I've started to try and think positive thoughts instead! It's all about a positive mental attitude and what you think makes you feel a certain way so I'm Trying to re train my brain. I think a mindfulness course may be helpful, going to look one up.

I did a mindfulness course and it really helped me..you can download it on playstore app for your phone..i always find the body scan one sends me straight to sleep :)Quote:

I had a few hard days in the last few. As much as I would love one more shot, our current income would get really tight if we were to have a fourth so I'm wondering if these three boys are just my lot. I do adore the two I have, so there's that.
I'm still throwing up, which just seems unfair at this point. I feel weird complaining about it, because I had HG with DS1 all the way through my pregnancy, but I guess I just assumed that if I didn't get HG again it would stop at 12-14 weeks like it did with DS2 and with the two second tri miscarriages I had before DS1.

Maybe in time your boys will help make you feel complete, or you may decide to give it another go. Truth be told, I could have stopped with DS3. I just kept having that nagging feeling that if I hadn't gotten my boy yet, we would SO try for #4. It wasn't until I overheard my DH one day tell a staff member of his that his heart broke a little each time we were told boy, did I start to consider #4 for his sake. Ironically, he was against TTCing. He told me recently it was because he didn't want to get his hopes up again.
You'll find out in time what is best for your family. Who knows, you may end up with a pleasant surprise (or oops!)!

We were set to stop at 4. Had a huuuuge oops surprise, were going to be done with #5 (5 years go by) and we are now having our last baby (#6) and it's a girl.
Sometimes life gets to be all sorts of versions along the way.
21 weeks over here and finally some kicking !
Surpirised it's taking so long but it's proper now my husband felt her last night - got my scan next week hopingmy placenta had shifted up and out of the way!
JC so sorry you have not had the outcome u wanted - I don't know how or why but some things just don't go our way in life no matter how we try and it just seems so unfair - although I know having a healthy child and carrying to term is such a blessing I know what it's like to yearn for a certain gender - hope you will be ok by d day xxx

Thank you all for your love and support. I decided my family just won't look the way I envisioned. Going from wanting two boys and a girl to a girl and two boys, to two girls and one boy and now three girls and one boy [emoji23] I think I will be back... I just trust God has this little girl coming for a reason. We could always adopt but I just have peace knowing that we aren't done yet.

JC - glad to hear that you are at peace! I never in a million years thought I would be having baby#5 (technically 6). But here I am. God has a special plan for this little girl!
HUGS to all of our sway opposites. We love you all and want to hear how you are doing no matter what! This is a safe place!!! I know first had how hard it can be. I was in a VERY dark place after loosing our ID girls last pg. At that time I did not understand why God took our girls and left us another boy! It took many weeks and me seriously trying how to go HT for the next little one. And here I am, most likely expecting boy #5 and I am OK with it. It took me a long time to get here, but I am at peace with having all boys now.

That's so lovely Shan thank you for your sweet message and it gives me hope and a little acceptance that what is meant to be is meant to be. I won't lie but when I found out last week I was carrying boy no.4 all I could think of was I don't want this baby or to carry it anymore, very nadir thoughts. But I've started, slowly, to accept my faith!
I am conscious on the other hand that I am bringing down the general happy tone of this site of all the people who are getting their desired gender and putting a bit of a downer for everyone! I hope this isn't the case but can't help it sometimes my emotions just come pouring out x

JC and Amelia, so sorry you didn't get your DG after so much effort and hope. Glad to hear it sounds like you're finding peace with it, JC. Amelia, don't worry about bringing down the mood! Even though it seems like a lot of the women here have been lucky enough to have successful sways, we found this site for a reason, and that reason is that we all either struggle(d) with a desire to have a child of a certain sex or had a spouse who did. For most of us, we had only opposites when we arrived here. So every one of us has been there in some sense or can relate!
amelia - I can only speak for myself, but I don't think you or any of the other ladies that did not get their DG are bringing me down. It is what it is. If we all got what we desired 100% of the time the world would be a selfish place. I firmly believe now (It has taken a LONG time for me to realize it) that we get what we NEED and it might not be what we desire. I did NOT want another boy (let alone the possibility of 3, which ended up being 2 girls and 1 boy) with my last pregnancy. At one point I was debating being pregnant at all after we lost the 2 girls. Like I said, I was in a very dark place. I have to tell you that he is exactly what our family needed and still needs every day. He is such an amazing little man. I now know a small portion of the reason that God spared him. He is definitely special.
Hey ladies could use a little advice... I had my 16 week scan today and held strong on remaining team green. I was pretty tempted to find out after my nub shot appeared somewhat girly but definitely chickened out. The tech whizzed by the potty shots pretty quickly so I only caught glimpses and never saw anything between the legs. I know this doesn't really mean anything, especially to my untrained eye, but I couldn't help but feel excited and even somewhat convinced I may have seen labia. However towards the end of my appointment, I noticed the doc had a piece of scratch paper and I could see boy (41%) written down. Now I don't know what to think and I can't for the life of me understand why they would write that down knowing I might accidentally see it and why the heck only 41%??? I didn't see any hints of boy yet she somehow is 41% convinced it's a boy? I can't help but feel disappointed now and this is the one thing I didn't want to feel this pregnancy.

oxox - HUGS!!! THat seems really weird to have that percentage. It could have said something else like body and you just saw boy??? IDK, just a thought. 41% is a weird number. I would just write it off as some thing noted, but not gender. Praying for peace for you!

Too random for me to think it has anything to do with gender. It might have been an acronym for the measurements they got. That would make more sense to me.

If your going to worry like crazy over the next few months maybe you should find out so at least you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy..im with the girls though i doubt the 41 perc was anything to do with gender and that boy may have been an abbreviation for something else.. awww birthfree amazing photos im having a 17 week 3d scan tomorrow i couldnt resist i need to see its a girl with my own eyes before it sinks into my brain that there will be a mini me in a few months..eeeekkkkkkkk
Birthfree, it sounds much more likely that 41 referred to a measurement (maybe the length percentile?) I don't see how anyone could pinpoint their certainty on gender to exactly forty-ONE percent. It's too specific and random.
Yeah you guys are right. I've decided to forget about it and chalk it up to something else. Besides she couldn't have seen that much. She was only between the legs for seconds. Thanks for talking me off the ledge!

I think she was probably writing something else. But if she was only 40% convinced it was a boy, that would mean a 60% chance remaining at a girl.
Today I posted on FB (just a random life thing) and the first few responses were all from people with kids of the same sex. Somehow it made me feel a little at peace. I bought some clothes, still bored of boy's stuff but at least now I have tiny clothes to look at. :)
hey guys i havent had a chance to come on recently due to exams and then a holiday, just got back last night and had my anatomy scan this evening and im so so excited to be finally having my 2nd baby girl. All looks healthy.
