TTC Blue Crew Grads

Begonia, I hope you pop in today:) I wanted to post this pic for a short while of me and my 2 sisters:) We are a year apart each, I'm in the brown, then middle sis is in the white and little sis is in the stripes. The babies are my lil sis's id twin girls with me and middle sis, and my lil sis is holding my DD4, so a completely pink generation picture and its one of my most treasured pics:) I'm glad to here that you are definately considering adding some blue in the future, but in the meantime I know there is definately something special with 3in a row:)

Oh ELP I'm so glad I did pop on, what a precious picture! Thank you for sharing! So lovely! If I could just wrap my head around 4 kids I think I'd feel so much better but I keep getting stuck on the only wanting three bit. 3 girls still baffles me. I like 3 girls and 3 boys better, LOL, so much more balanced. But I can't have six kids. It's so not me. I was thinking today though how funny it is that some people are totally cut out for large families, and others don't want any kids at all. I wonder where I'll end up; 3 or 4. Definitely not 5 though, that I know for sure.

Jen I think the 10 year gap will have a special bond of its own, KWIM? She'll really be able to nurture him and that'll be sweet. My dad and his older sister (only sibling) had a 16 year gap and they were very close as adults, which is what our kids will be for most of their lives anyway :) Shocking to think about it though. DD1 turned 6 and I'm just like, WHAT?!?! We're 1/3 of the way through her pre-college years; before we know it she's gone :( I didn't cry when she started kindy but I think when they start high school I'll be pretty bummed that so much of their childhood has passed.

Tink, glad you're doing well! You sound like me when I was pg with DD2; I seriously couldn't wipe the smile off my face I was so happy. After her delivery my friends joked that I had PPE ... post partum euphoria. It really was an unnatural state of total joy. I'm so hoping I feel that way again. FX you get a great peak at your LO next week!

CA I can't believe you're 10.5 weeks! Wow! It really does go crazy fast.

Thankyou ladies xx, I have to take it off as my lil sis is very paranoid about photos on the web so I have to remove, but it was just one of those moments with my family that wasn't going to come round again as we don't get together often:)

B, I only wanted 1 child:) And to be honest with you all here I was devastated when I found out that no2 was expected. Strange story lol, but when I was expecting No1 I desperatley wanted a boy and I had a girl! I fell instantly in love and knew she was going to be my only child and my best friend forever:) Then when No2 was discovered at 12 weeks I was gutted and dreaded the thought of a boy, to the extent that when he was born I never felt that amazement with him til he was about 6 months old:( I looked after him perfectly, smiled when I was supposed to, but never looked at him and thought 'Do you know what, your the most amazing thing I've ever seen!' til around 6 months.

Then I struggled with 2 kids! I just couldn't get the hang of it til the little boy turned 2, which is when I tried for No3 and it all went a bit addictive since then lol:oops: So I would say no3 is the turning point B, you could easily be the mum of 6 before you know it! From a person who was complete at 1, devastated at 2, and now slightly eccentric and 9:bigsmile::hugs:

Tink: I am so happy for you!!! U/s just make it seem so real.

ELP: You sound like us....we agreed on 2, way back when. I would love a red head, but my chances are slim. DH tells people sometimes that we are trying for a red head baby.

We went to the ballet on Sunday and had a great time. It was about 2 hrs from the house, so it was an all day affair, but worth it. After a crazy busy weekend, and then a craft day (ordaments) today, I think I am going to stay home all week and rest / do schoolwork. I really need to start slowing down. I think my body is just tired and I can not kick this cold....again.

ELP and WP, I think that's so funny that neither of you planned on so many kids! I love it :) I'm so happy that both of you found out how much you really love this being a mom business! ELP I love the bit about complete at 1, devastated at 2, and now eccentric :rofl: I feel like having 4 would definitely put us in the eccentric category here! I love the idea of it but am not sure I will be able to really make it happen. Time will tell. I feel lucky to even be able to consider the idea though; even though they are girls (lol) I love these little people more than I thought possible. I remember after having DD1 I had an even harder time processing my childhood, because how could my parents have been so awful to their child? But that's another topic and not a fun one so we'll avoid it! Suffice it to say I was shocked at the depth of a mother's love. It's easy to see how it does get addictive to keep adding to the brood.

WP I was wondering too how y'all with 3+ already aren't needing to be sleeping all day! I have been FAR more tired this time and I'm chalking it up to chasing around the 1st two of them. I'm lucky to stay up til 9pm most nights. Poor DH and I hardly see each other since he leaves before I get up and gets home around 8 pm!

Tink - awe Ava is so cute! My second tells anyone who will listen about our baby, and between the three my tummy gets kissed 100 times a day. I love it but sometimes it's like "glad you love the baby but I'm trying to do th laundry" lol
Yay for your dr's appt! I can't believe how close we are to knowing who's in there!

ELP- I saw the pic before you took it down but didn't get a chance to comment till now. It's so great I love photos like that. I was lucky enough to have several photos taken with my oldest two, me, my mom, my grandma and my great grandma. 5 generations of women all in one pic, I love em.

B- I know so many who have that gap and there's almost no relationship. Dh and his brother are 10 yrs apart and they barely speak, maybe if he wasn't such a loser that would be different. Also his parents made dh take care of his brohers whether he wanted to or not. Dh was frequently stuck home at 16/17 take care of him so his parents could drive to Nevada and gamble for the night. Dh and I have agreed that, for the mot part, that type of thing won't happen. All babysitting will be voluntary and paid, younger siblings are not their responsibility.
I kinda have to agree with ELP, 3 is the turning point. From there, eh what the hell go for 4 lol
On processing your childhood, I think we learn how to be a parent or not to bea parent from ours. I envy those that had good examples because poor dh and I are flying blind lol
Sleep- it's funny but the more you have the easier it is, my older ones really help out with household tasks and entertaining the 4yo. They take her out to play and help in getting her dressed and such. While my older two are in school I'm lucky that my 4yo is amazingly self entertained. If I need a nap I crash out on the couch so she can wake me if need be or we crawl in my bed and watch a movie. Well she watches, I sleep lol

3p1b glad you can see my point. Your 4yr old sounds adorable, what a good girl! Goodness me, your poor dh.

Tink saw your scan, I hope its a boy, but your not too concerned either way, which is great.

Begonia I bumped into an old friend at the shops & she's had her 3rd girl & asked me if I did anything to sway, didnt want to tell her to what length I went to, so I just said I did the timing, she said she regrets not swaying & is now thinking of going a 4th time to try sway, so really sometimes people think they're done at 1,2,3 but then reconsider, although she said if her 3rd was a boy she would have stopped, so you never know you may decide, 1 more.

Wp, I love ballet, my dh finds it boring but he comes along anyway.

Tink: Congrats on the scan....again, lucky girl. Sorry, I am no good at nubs.

B: Sleep is a past time, hehehe, just kidding. I don't get naps unless it is the weekend and DH feels mercy on me. Or if I am sick....I mean really sick. We go to bed at 10pm and get up at 6-7am, I think that is a good amount of sleep. If we do a whole lot in one day or weekend I feel like a walking zombie for days, but other than that I have not been too tired. Oh, and I see a major difference when I don't take my vitamins.

CA: The ballet was fun, but expensive and a long drive. The closest ballet to us is in Atlanta and the traffic is horrible. Plus we live in the country, so the closest store or anything is 30+ minutes away. I think I would rather skip the heels and traffic and just go for a movie at home in my jammies.

ELP: Do you do a $ amount or gift amount for children for Christmas? Just curious how other large families make it work.

I think we may start wrapping presents this evening, it may take a solid week if we don't start soon (we have a lot of family that we have bought for).

LOL about once you have 3 what's one more ... that's what I keep thinking, but I don't have 3 yet! So we'll see how that goes.... the good news is I feel much better these days; still can't say I'm happy to have all girls but I'm at least excited to have three kids. For months I was regretting that decision so at least now I am moving in the right direction. As long as I think about them as my kids instead of "my girls" I typically feel better about it; I wish gender didn't feel like such an important thing, but every time people see a pregnant person that's the first question they ask!

CA that's interesting about your friend; when I see people say they regret not swaying (here or IRL) though I tend to want to tell them don't stress it! I mean it's nice in that you think you gave it a shot, but swaying is so far from a guarantee, KWIM? I have 2 friends IRL pg with boys after their 2 girls and they didn't sway a bit. Yet here I sit after a crazy sway, pg with girl #3. I'm a really research-oriented person and have read so many studies that I do think swaying through diet has merit. I just think the luck element is so big that personally I wouldn't regret NOT swaying ... if we fall pregnant on accident I won't be upset about not getting to sway. But then I got the chance to sway once, so I can see where if someone never has they might feel like it would make a difference for them.

Ah, sleep. Before I had kids I slept 6 hours a night and was fine! But now for some reason I must have 8-9, so I'm usually in bed at 10 and up between 6-7. I dread the baby thing though! I want a sleeper this time! Please, God, since you didn't give me a boy, AT LEAST give me a child that sleeps through the night by 3 months old!!! :)

Begonia, I totally get what your saying in regards to swaying, I did say to her that women have swayed hardcore & still end up with the undesired gender & her response was I just wish I tried & I totally get that to.

Today I was suppose to go for a nice walk along the beach, but the weather is crap. Whats everyone up to today?

I did position and dh caffein when we got dd3, I will always regret doing such a half-assed sway but if I'd done a solid one and had another girl I don't think I'd have the guts to try again. Hell I got a boy and I still don't have the guts to sway again and 4 is a lot of kids lol

B - Since dd3 I have often referred to mine as my kids, it's like it helped me not put the emphasis on their genders. I hate that the first thing people ask about gender, I've learned their response is annoying no matter what you tell them. it's either "oh ANOTHER girl" closely followed by "are you going to try again"or "three sisters, that poor little guy" closely followed by "oh your husband must be so excited". Why the hell can't people just say congrats?!

Does anyone here live in Texas by any chance? Dh may be transferred there depending on the pay and I'd love to have some info not from google. My brain is flooded with the logistics of all of this so I've gotten almost nothing done lol

Jen: I don't live in Texas, but I have a lot of family there. What part of Texas....you know it is a big state :)

B: I know it is so hard to think about having more children while pregnant. I can't stand when people ask me when/if I am going to have the next baby while I am still growing one. DH just always says "This one is the last". And then 2 years later we have another baby, I am sure family just roll their eyes behind our backs.......but they keep asking!!!!

CA: Almost 12 wks!!! When is your next appt?

I let all the children listen to the baby's h/b on my doppler the other day and they were so excited. My 5 yo said, "So now you really know it's in there , huh?" And my youngest didn't like the sound and cried the whole time. It was fun and I also let them find their own h/b , I think it made it more real for them.

This is definitely me! I can't imagine swaying again. NO WAY. I'm out. If we have a 4th we're adopting. I'd do HT if DH would but that's a dead end, so adoption it is. But yes, at least I did get to give it a shot. I can see where someone who hasn't ever swayed (or did just shettles or something minimal) would at least want to try.

And really, why is that people can't just say congrats?!?! It's like there's a need to comment further! I've actually stopped even asking people what they're having; I really don't care. It doesn't matter to me. I bet you do get a lot of the "dh must be so happy" because I definitely get the "your dh must be sad" comments.

WP that's super sweet about the kiddos listening to the heartbeat :) And LOL about DH just always saying this one is the last. I know for sure this is our last pregnancy ... well, barring accidentally. Neither of us are getting "fixed" and given our history we could definitely have an accident, LOL! Yikes. Maybe we should get fixed. I think if I had an accidental pg I'd freak out ... my GD has been so bad this time I can't bear the idea of having it again.

CA when is your 12 week scan? Soon I think? I thought maybe this week even.... keep us posted!

Yes I know 12wks has gone so quick, my scan is next wed, I cant wait, I just want to see my little bean & hear its heart beating.

OH fun!!! I'm glad it is so soon; it really is lovely to see the babe :) I have a scan on Thurs and am curious to see her now that she's so big!

CA after all the scan pics you've seen at this point I bet if there's anything to be seen you'll know what to look for :) Either way FX you're able to just relax and enjoy seeing the babe and not fret about gender.

I was doing so much better the last 2 weeks and then yesterday/today have felt rotten again; cried about it yesterday for the first time in weeks :( GD SUCKS.

WP - DH would be working in Richardson (outside Dallas) but we're looking at Allen.

B - Sorry you're having a rough day. I hate how GD comes and goes, how some days you're happy others devastated. You're getting close to meeting her and I promise that helps :)

Begonia, not nice when you have those bad days is it, but im proud of you for not shedding a tear in weeks though, im sure when she's born you will be ok.

Im taking a blood test today for downs, I need to have it done a week before my scan, dont like blood tests.

Omg 3p 31 weeks! Ahhhhhhh. 8 days till we do a 3d scan. Ill be 15 weeks 1 day. Hoping to see some gender!! The countdown is on!!!

No unfortunately, I nor my dh are good with computers, my 8 & 6yr old girls know more then us ha ha.

Had my blood test 2day, she was fantastic, I will always ask for her when ever I need one.

CA I'm glad the blood test went well! Luckily that stuff never bothers me. FX you get a good shot next week too.

I had a dr appt this am and another scan; as expected measuring big again already so will have another scan again in a month. Doc just wants to be sure fluid levels are OK as I get farther along. It's nice to see her. I can be happy to have another DD for a minute, and then I fall to pieces over never having a son ... I managed to hold it together in the doc's office but I was crying the whole drive home again, just wishing for once I'd gotten to hear "it's a boy."

Jen I totally admire you getting to a place where you could try again. I don't think I'll get there. I swayed so darn hard this time and still got DD3 so it's hard for me to believe I'll have anything but another girl. If I knew for sure I'd have a boy I'd have a 4th, but DH won't do PGD so it looks like I've just got to learn to live with the disappointment. I think once she's here that will be easier, though I'll probably always wonder why we couldn't have a son ... but I've been lucky in other ways so I have to focus on the many good things in my life instead of what I didn't get.

Im so done at 3, regardless of gender.

What im really loving about this pregnancy is sharing it with my girls, we went baby furnirure shopping last sunday & the girls loved helping mum & dad chose things, didnt buy cot or basinet sheet colours, that I will get once I know gender, I have bought one ltl girl cardigan & a ltl pair of boy overalls & some other white coloured baby jumpsuits/singlets. Once I know what we're having im going to go nutts with my shopping, cant wait! Im really hoping it will be blue baby clothes though.

So much going on...

B: Can't wait to see another pic of your belly and baby girl!!! I love u/s, I don't know what our mothers did without them.

CA: Yuck, bloodwork. I hate it everytime, but they never let me out of it :( I have not bought anything....yet. I will buy a boy and girl outfit and a couple gender neutral things. I have lots of girl clothes, so I really only need a lot of new things if it is a boy. What day next week is your u/s?

Tink: I think by 15wks they may see something on a boy.....Good Luck.

Jen: We have family in Spring and Beaumont, TX (I think 1 hour from Dallas to the east)....both vey nice places. I love the seafood in Texas...MMMM.

We have been soooo busy. I guess we are always busy with our normal things, but now holiday things are over taking us!!! Tomorrow is our annual cookie bake, where we bake about 6 recipes each (with no children). And then we give tons of cookie plates out. I am normally exausted and can not eat cookies for days. It should be fun and productive....DH loves when I come home for the cookie bake :)

Wp my u/s is next wednesday, cant wait!

B - I had the guts to try again because the minute I heard girl I knew I had blown it. It was a truly half-assed effort and knew I could do better, that's what drove my sway this time. I gave it my all as I knew I could get over another girl but the regret of a crappy attempt would always get me. You went for broke, I don't blame you for not wanting to try it again. I get wondering why you couldn't have a son, I've been haunted for 8 years that my first m/c was my son. If this one wasn't a boy I'd have added last years m/c to that torture. It's horrible how we beat ourselves up. I agree focus on three healthy kids and all the other ways your life is amazing :)

CA- Done at 3 no matter what? I said that too lol So excited for your u/s, I love u/s pics!!

WP- mmm cookies, I may have to do some baking today :wink:

Oh yes yes yes im definately done at 3, my hubby is getting the snip.

I woke up this morn at 6am & went for a lovely walk along the beach then had breakfast at a really cute cafe, all by myself, I really enjoyed it. Anyone else enjoy their own company? Or is it just me getting older?

Yes I am and I'll get massively bigger from here. This is the joy/beast of carrying all out front lol

5 dayssssssssss! Omg im so excited!!!! This baby has to be having a growth spurt because I have taken 2 naps today. I slept in ti 11. Thank god for my amazing husband.

Im with you on that one tink I was so tired yesterday.

CA- My girls love my "baby appts" especially when there's a u/s involved. I envy you girls still in the beginning, next time I get to see my babe it'll be at birth. Not that that isn't awesome but I got used to the frequent peeks lol
