Welcome Pstar32~ Looks like you had a pretty good girl sway! lol! Congrats on the pregnancy! Only 6 more days! Make sure to let us know! :)
Hey Pstar - welcome! sounds like you have a great chance there! How old are your boys?
Thanks girls' my oldest is 2 and 10 months, 3 in September and the other is 18 months! I'm 36 and always wanted 3/4 children so I don't have huge amounts of time for big gaps. I would love this to be a girl but just couldn't imagine it! I can find out on Tuesday so I'll keep you posted :) Lovely to chat to you all!!
Welcome, pstar! Great accidental sway!!
Thanks Amari I don't think I can "like" comments on this App???
Will be thinking about you tomorrow Pstar!! Good luck!!
Welcome pstar, sounds like you have a great chance of getting a girl:) oooh and good luck today:flowerz:
I have been starting to mentally prepare myself for the birth eeek,i have always had natural birth without any drugs and im 38 now and all my pregnancy troubles are way worse this time ,my joints are barely hanging on,with my last birth i had contraction pains and electric shock pains in my legs which was a surprise, like the pain of childbirth isnt enough:worry:last time i did a version of the hypnobirthing,it didnt help alot, but somewhat,i was thinking of either trying to find the real one or just getting some relaxing music this time?Any suggestions?
Thanks sweet sister, I won't be very good with advice. I got the epidural both times, but almost missed it the second time. So I'm hoping this one doesn't come too soon. It's brilliant if you can do it because any of my friends who have say it's seriously painful but you feel much better afterwards.
Best of luck with the birth, I try not to think about it and just go with the flow on the day.
Well even if i wanted to have an epidural it would be difficult,i mean its easier for me without it,i dialate from like 3 to time to give birth in less than 3o mins when its time.
I wish i could go with it,im a control freak and have to plan everything out, thanks though i really should try to let go as you say and just go with the flow :)
OMG - anyone else having bizarro dreams?? I have been having weird dreams ever since finding out I was pregnant . None have been pregnancy or baby related just weird. BUT the dream I woke from this morning takes the cake!! Ok - wacky alert - be warned.
I find myself in my living room, sitting on my sofa. I am manually expressing one breast into a bottle. I start to think that I really shouldn't be doing that as I know it can cause premature contractions but I am surprised to find that I seem to have real milk not just colostrum. (just wait, gets weirder.. lol) Suddenly my mom and sister walk in - they live far away and are not planning to visit until baby is born. But, my mom is holding a tiny brand new baby and says "why dont you just nurse the baby?" I look down at my belly and realize I am no longer pregnant but I have NO idea how this baby got here. She hands me the baby and I am staring at it like it is an alien. My mom, sister and DH exchange worried looks. I am really confused but the poor baby looks really hungry and so I start nursing. I unwrap the little blanket and see the baby is a boy! I blurt out - "this is not my baby". So now they think I have really lost it and my mom sits next to me trying to reassure me or something. I start to say - "no, really! Mom, do you remember me being in labor?? Where is the midwife? Do you remember her being here? And why is it a boy??" She thinks for a moment and no one can recall these things either. Suddenly DH looks out the window and there is this freaky black car in the driveway. When it sees him looking, it speeds off. I come to this conclusion and blurt out "I've been drugged and they stole my baby!" Then I woke up. Crazy!! No???
Now I am not one that thinks that every dream has a meaning but if this one does I have no idea what it is!!
that is a strange dream! Maybe you are worried about anyone taking your little girl away.
Bahahaha, NeedAGirl! you are cracking me up! I have crazy dreams too...all pregnancy long. What a horrid dream!
Sweet- I go super fast too, I think it is do painful but I don't like the epidural b/c of afterwards. I like to be more in control of the situation too!
Need a girl-I'm having crazy dreams too! I think yours just means you ate having a hard time believing its a girl!
I think you are right, Amari. I know it is but seems so surreal! The nice thing though was when I saw it was a boy for a split second I was ok with it... Until I realized it wasn't my baby! Ha ha.. My kooky brain, I swear!
Sweet, I have super fast births. 1st was 3 hrs, second was 1 hr 1.min! However, every third birth of everyone I know was unpredictable and did not follow the pattern so I am fully expecting a longer labor this time. all my babies were born at home so obviously no pain meds.
Needagirl: that's so weird but I've been having mad dreams as well and really vivid like that! I blame the hormones haha!!
Sweetsister: I know it's easier said than done but I just try to focus on the fact that it's a necessary evil, it's over so quick that there's no point in worrying, it's not going to change the outcome, it just wastes energy :)
Gender Scan Update: Anyway I had my scan yesterday and IT'S A GIRL! I can't believe it, I'm over the moon :) I had such a different pregnancy from conception to symptoms but I still couldn't picture a tech saying those three words. I almost broke down in tears and did in the car. Please God everything goes well now.
big congrats Pstar!!!!!!!
Need a girl ,i definately have been having crazy dreams a few weeks ago,i cant remember them though now i think about it,but even if i could they are just too wierd to even describe!!Its all the hormones:)
And i do have fast births from when i dialate past 4 i usually stay at 3 and have serious hard labor pains for at least 24 hrs,im hoping that the third time for me will be the easy one:)
And Pstar http://www.picgifs.com/glitter-graph...xts-111358.gif
Congrats Pstar!!
Ok I am hearing all you awesome ladies talk about no pain meds, I was thinking about going the no epidural route this time because I feel like crap after the epidural wears off. How do I do it??? My first labor was 18hrs, 2nd was 8hrs, so they aren't too long but definitely not short.
dloui ,i havent had an epi so cant say but ive heard it slows down your labor, and as for me usually when i am able to get one it is when it is the most painful,if you just hold on from that point, usually its time to push and bang ..it goes so fast ..for me anyways,i really believe if i got one it would take longer, maybe somehow my body feels the pain and says(o.k. enough of this lets get this over)
My first birth was better (sort of ) than my second because i had to get my water broken by the doctor bcause it was taking too long and that was way worse than it happening naturally! And relaxing through the contractions helps alot, thats why i like to prepare mentally, because i believe it helps the pain to relax into it,for me anyhow :)
The one time I did have an epidural it actually sped up my labor...it relaxed my body enough and I dialated much quicker. Good luck!
CONGRATS PStar!! So happy for you! Surreal, isnt it??
Dloui - I highly recommend reading "Ina Mae's Guide to Childbirth." Excellent book.
Can someone please tell me what happends after an epidural??????? I had a natural birth first time ( just gas ) it was 7 hrs but it was soooooooo painful!!! I am actually having major anxiety over labour and my ob has told me she wants me to have an epi straight away which I was happy with but whats the go after labour??? FREAKING OUT AGAIN!!!!!
I have had 3 epidurals and I have to say they have been great. I never felt any pain with my births. My last labor was 2 hours so I don't think it slowed things down at all. I'm always a little nervous about having the procedure/insertion done though. It does stink that it takes some time before you can walk after the birth. I give you all natural moms a lot of credit though, I"m a big wimp when it comes to pain.
Frankly, I love epidurals! I told the doctor to give me one today and I would just keep the drugs going until labor in December. He wouldn't do it. Spoilsport!
The epidural had with DS3 wore off pretty quickly, and I was able to walk around almost immediately. I think it may depend on the doctor giving it.
Yeah I've had a good experience on them! My labours were still pretty fast! It numbed my pain but not my lower region so I could feel them coming! I didn't tear and had no stitches and was walking pretty quick afterwards! The midwife said its because I'm fit!
Needagirl it's so surreal! I read back at you finding out and thought she's so lucky I'll never hear that! I just can't wait now to have her here safe and sound! It's soooo long to wait :)
I feel like its my first pregnancy again and I'm trying to picture what it'll be like!!
I delivered my first 2 kids 100% drug free and felt great AFTER it was all over. I did love being able to get up and move around etc.
With #3 I had an epidural. I was stalled at 6 cm overnight (walking ALL night long) and it took me to 10 cm within 2 hours. easiest delivery ever. It almost seemed too easy. I get great satisfaction from pushing a baby out and I feel i missed out on that. I was up and walknig within an hour. Was very, very easy.
With #4 he was breech so I had to have a c-section....felt gutted like a fish. Hated the long recovery.
So I am hoping to have a VBAC with this one and will have the epidural since each delivery hurts more each time and then I'll have it ready if I end up with any complications....well, that's the "plan".
So I am for them if you feel you need it!...and there is nothing wrong with needing it. ;)
Wow! How are you twin moms feeling? I feel like by the end of the day my gut is so huge already that I am having twins!! I saw the midwife this week and I am measuring about 3 weeks ahead! DS#1 was 7lb7oz, DS#2 was 8lb6oz so I have been joking forever that if I ever had another baby, it would be 9lb5oz. I think she is headed there!!

you're looking good NeedAGirl
maybe this weekend I will try and take a belly pick
Great pic NeedAGirl! You look fantastic! :)
So who has a baby name picked out??
You look great, NeedAGirl! I have a tendency to just look fat all over, rather than pregnant. Not cute.
Needagirl you look really gorgeous, I'm usually slim but when I'm pregnant I look huge. I have a flat stomach and small boobs normally even after the boys. I put on weight on my bum and arms, so I usually dress for that shape, when I'm pregnant that goes out the window and i just look yuk!! I always get a rounder face as well, I always look at pregnant women like you with envy haha!! At least it's temporary.
I'm finding names really difficult any nice girl suggestions? I'm 36 and have loads of cousins and nieces and nephews. I have 7 close girl friends from childhood and we all have kids, all the good names are gone:) I thought about boys names the whole time and I actually think there are lots of nice ones but because I haven't been considering a girl I don't know where to start!
Hi ladies, so nice to hear you taking about deliveries:) time is flying ........I had this same question in my mind about epidural (do or not?) I had it both times and this time I was thinking maybe to go without any meds, but then having twins scares me a lot . Any suggestions? I am hoping that 3rd delivery will be easier and faster. Also, with this pregnancy i am experiencing short of breath and feeling tired all the time :(((
