Rainbow I keep telling my dh he doesn't make girlies xx
I definitely think there is something too it for sure. I think it's probably rare, but there has to be some people where that is the case. I know Atomic has done way more research than most but sometimes I feel like that's the only explanation! My 3 pregnancies were all very different in terms of my body before conceived. DS1 makes sense he was a boy, DS2 does not as I was skinniest I'd ever been, doing crazy cardio, eating super low empty calories etc etc. This baby was more similar to DS2 minus the working out and we basically gave up on swaying the month I conceived because I had lost O, wasn't getting pregnant, short LP and on my way to a fertility specialist - so I feel like it could go either way (we aren't finding out gender). But I just know it'll be a boy so for me I feel like it has to be something about DH - maybe the medication he's on for Colitis.. who knows! But also, my SIL is married to a guy who she just knew would only makes boys. There hasn't been a girl in their family born for generations and each person had at least 2+ kids. My SIL totally sways strong pink (unintentionally) and they have 2 boys. Her BIL also had a boy so how can that make any sense.. ya know?
When did you ladies start feeling movement? I'm 16 weeks today...sorta, kinda, maybe feeling flutters, but no real movements yet!!
Didn't feel anything until about 19 weeks - I sometimes wondered about maybe flutters but nothing. I literally told my OB I wasn't feeling movement and went home and it started about an hour later. I've felt it regularly since (I'm almost 24 weeks). I do have an anterior placenta, but that didn't stop DS2 as I had one with him as well and I felt him at 11 weeks on. I also felt DS1 from 11 weeks but he was my first so I didn't really believe it.
Thanks MsB!! XO
Now I'm glad I have my Doppler, so I can at least listen to the babe's heartbeat & know everything is okay...since I'm 16 weeks exactly today, might be a little while.
Agree, I trust Atomic has done plenty of research but I also saw some HT people finding out that yes, they had 50/50 sperm but none would take. Either some died, bonded but had abnormalities or just didnt bond with the egg, or the egg wouldnt implant. So I wonder if some DH's simply have super healthy boy sperm, and their girl sperm are like girly Homer Simpsons banging into the walls no quality to go anywhere with. Just something I wonder. Since my DH's family is just like you describe too MSBLAKELY. In some ways I cant blame my MIL for being so obviously pro-girl, since nobody has had one in generations in their family.
I started feeling movements at 11-12 weeks, so super early but I felt them at 14 weeks with ds2 and 16 with ds1. Must have thin muscles now, hahaha.
HOWEVER since moving a massively heavy trampoline when it blew over our fence in strong winds the other night with DH, I haven't felt anything. I am starting to worry. If I go to the doctor and ask he will probably think i'm mad since i'm only 14 weeks now anyway and usually most women don't feel consistent movements until far later. Wish I had a doppler. Its going to be a long week until my next scan. 4 days since I felt movement.
Interesting, Meeks. Yes, could just be that the girls aren't particularly healthy. DH is such a man's man, and I just know his testosterone is through the roof...would certainly be interesting to know if he plays a role at all. His sister is adopted, so his dad had only a boy, his granddad had 3 boys, and one of his uncles has 1 girl, 3 boys. Most of the cousins on his side of the family have boys, although I know some have girls, too. Anyway, just curious to find out.
As far as movement at 14 weeks goes, I understand your concern, but you probably have nothing to worry about. If something went wrong with baby after moving the trampoline, you'd probably having bleeding, cramps, or both! Please try not to stress over it! You're gonna get to see that sweet little baby soon!
I have not really had movement. Thought that maybe I felt some flutters around the 10th week, late...but since my scan, found out I have an anterior placenta, so pretty sure what I was feeling was just gas or muscle twitches, haha! Had anterior placenta with DS2, and didn't feel strong movements till 18 weeks with him. It was a bummer!
