Babymad fab birth story really pleased for you that you got your home birth xx
Babymad- I loved your birth story, so so glad for you that you are bonding well and beginning to be able to move on and be content with your (perfect) family. I'm so happy you are enjoying him right from the beginning, it is such a special time. I loved reading your post and it is amazing how we do cope and can come to terms with things (thank goodness). You sound so at peace and grounded, I'm just so happy for you! :HH:
Pinga- huge congrats to you! wonderful news, can't wait to see the pics! Hope you are enjoying your new little man to the full!
I had that scare too about fb and our group not being private but I'm pretty sure it is, phew! Thanks for setting it up maybebaby, it's fun to have all the faces to names.
Finally went car shopping today for a bigger car that will take all the boys. So time consuming and a bit boring, I don't really care! I am quite keen on the sliding door ones though, has anyone got one of those and is it any good?
TLM- you are welcome whenever you have time and when you are away for a bit, you certainly aren't forgotten. As Maybe said, you are one of the founding members! :HH:
Goodnight and love to you all xxxx
Pinga - hows you? How was the birth?? We need details! (I'm sure your hands are full ATM)
Babymad I will mentally start diet with you tomorrow. I weigh far too much. I crave sugar all the time and I think
Im going to get diabetes if I carry on. Plus my bp needs to come down :-( I have the same John Lewis star blanket as your lo. Good taste! I love their baby things. Love their designer baby clothes too (buy not the prices!) x
indigo - highly recommend sliding doors for the fact it is so much easier when in tight car parks! No worries the boys will slam the door into the next car. Our car is huge so takes up most of the space so slide doors are needed!!
Beck has the star blanket from johnlewis its gorgeous and so soft!!
Diet didn't go well today. Met my sister for the day and went to harvester. She had halomi and I had spit roast with jacket butter and sour cream. I have no will power :-(
My period isn't due (I'm bf feeding but it returned in may - boo!) but I am getting terrible cramps. Has anyone else had this so long after giving birth?
I got some bandana bibs today from buba bids. 11 for £19.95 they are lovely. If anyone with baby boys wants something funky I think they are great
Babymad, aww your homebirth sounded amazing!! i would love a hb but i just cant do pain, im terrible lol. Im soo glad you and your adorable little boy have bonded soo well, you sound really happy and you truly have a beatiful family :-))
Ive started weight watchers, lost 12 pounds so far, i cant believe im actually doing it as my will power is crap lol.
Im really looking forward to our meet up, not long now!! its funny how we have never met but i just feel such a bond with you all, cant wait :-) x
Hello!!! Finally back online after having my little man!!! As I mentioned before DS1 and DS2 have been very sick so I went to stay with their great-grandmother for a couple of nights after my 2 nights at hospital (no internet). DH has been watching the boys. Not been ideal but I actually really enjoyed the 1-on-1 time with bubba.
What a crazy birth. I still can't believe he is here.
Duke Arthur was born on Friday 15th at 3.39pm :)
DH had taken the day off work as DS1 had croup the night before and woke up in a massive panic as he couldn't breathe so he'd been to the Childrens Hospital for some steriods that night.
On Friday DHs sister came over to watch the boys for an hour while DH took me to my OB appointment at 12. my BP was up so was sent to fetal monitoring. After a while they put me on the monitors. DH went back home (fetal monitoring is 4 hour appt). While lying there I felt 2 massive kicks down there... which was weird. about 10 mins later when I stood up I said 'uh-oh' as a trickle ran down my leg. Guess the kicks were my waters breaking. They gave me a pad... which lasted about 10 seconds when my waters were gushing down... my shoes were wet etc.
Rang DH - he'd just got home - and told him to come back. The doc then said I would be sent home and booked in for an induction if nothing happened by the next morning. I thought hmmm - I could be wrong but I think its coming today and soon. Just after 3pm DH got back. The doc came back in and told me to come back at 6.30am. Then I got the first tightening that had a tiny bit of uncomfortableness to it. I told the doc. I was told to hang around for a bit and walk around the floor and see if it got things going. I took about 10 steps out the room and got the first ouchy one... then another. Then another and then I said I need to be in a room - I feel pressure.
They grabbed a wheelchair and I was rushed to the lifts and the birthing suite (an exciting wheelchair dash). Had a couple of contractions on the way. Got to the room threw myself on the floor by the bed and did my first push... trousers still on :D DH got me undressed while pushing... Baby got distressed so had to get on the bed. It was go go go.
You know how midwives like to say encouraging things... well at one point one said - 'your baby's head is out' and I said (a little sarcastically) 'yes I can TELL'! Honestly they shouldn't talk to me!
I'd say I had 6 contractions before starting to push. He came out in 30 mins (20mins after getting into the birth suite). Duke was a bit stunned and took a while to start responding - they had a paed there... but all good!
It took a while to absorb what happened - It was so quick I don't think I felt very in control. DH was AMAZING - he was really involved in this birth which was nice. I really needed him there. Duke is a gorgeous little man. He is feeding well but every 2 hours at the mo. He looks so like DS2 at the mo. Can't believe how lucky I was to be at the hospital when it all happened. We were lucky DHs sister was there to watch the boys... and lucky DH wasn't at work.
Anyway - that was my strange little birth story! :D Am very much in love with him. Am not thinking ahead to the future... am just soaking up the newborn bit.
Babymad - congratulations - what a fab birth you had!!!!
Pinga, massive congratulations! What an amazing story and what I wouldn't give to only have 6 contractions before pushing!! So glad dh was there and you were in hospital as it could have been scary otherwise. I'd love to see a pic! Sooooo happy you are in love with your little man....I WANT mINE NOW!!!!!
Hi everyone else! X
Pinga- so happy for you, big congrats. So glad you are enjoying your new little man :HH: I'd love a birth like that! I'm glad it all worked out with the kids being looked after and already being at the hosp. Well done!!
Wow Pinga that's how to do labour! Lol
Huge congratulations on Dukes arrival :) so glad you are all ok and that dh was lucky enought to make it back in time!!
