Kell- saw midwife today but they in no hurry and i don't really fancy a sweep, will just wait it out for now and try to keep myself busy. How is your little one doing?

Yea!! Congrats, Indira!! I can't believe she was SO late! (And I thought being 7 days late was rough!)
Just checking in 10 Days in till my due date - 6 Days in till my obgyn appointment - 8 Days in till I head to hospital for a non stress test. It's all getting a little exciting.
DH asked last night 'Do we have everything?' I said ' Yes most of it' 'Diapers?' 'Yes enough for about 4-5 days' 'Well we need to buy more.' :)
So we plan to go shopping on Thursday next week to pick up the last few bits.
But now I have another problem I'm still not 100% set on the name.. We have three names picked out Vincent (Vinnie) will be his first name. This can not change. But his middle name I love Kai and goes well with the long Vincent Kai..but I've also loved Adam since forever.. Does Vincent Adam sound too long?
DH is easy with the middle name - my choice since he picked the first name.
May I chime in here and ask about the non stress test?
I heard about it about three months ago. Does everyone have one? What do they look at? If it comes back bad will they induce you? Sorry I've never heard of it over here in Australia, I think if they did them it would be for multiples anyways. Just curious, sorry.
As far as I know - I'm just going to be hooked up to a monitor for a few hours to see if I'm having any contractions, How baby reacts to them..Quote:

Thanks for the input on the name. I'm more swayed to Kai. Seems to sound better with the long first name. plus our last name is pretty long too.
Journey I like Vincent Kai too! It has a better ring to it. Actually my oh's dad is Vincent and his nephew is Kai lol.

I'm good got the health visitors out this afternoon and I have an appointment to be discharged from midwifery care as well, Lily is doing great, she's no trouble at all and seems to be so chilled out and content! I can't believe how lucky we are! :)

Had her weighed this afternoon she 7lb 13oz so has put on 12oz in 9 days!! I must be producing full fat milk here lol

Just a little update on me - I had contractions every 30 mins from 11am till 8pm yesterday.. Plus a dull ache in my lower back. Lets hope for some cervical changes.
As for today I've woken up to worse ache in my left hip/ groin.. Baby moving down? or just my hips spreading?
No contractions today as of yet and its 12pm.
Relaxing day planned while dh works on the farm. Tomorrow we have our last Date Day planned.. Off out for lunch after church no cooking for me :) and then a long walk around a park in the city.
Perhaps the long walk will start some contractions off.
Sounds promising Winter. Wish I had something going on, just trying to be patient.

Yep totally normal Hun, if he has dropped chances are it means he's engaged so his head is in your pelvis which can feel very uncomfortable and even painful.
I had SPD and suffered quite a lot of pelvic pain, it goes away pretty quickly after birth :)
Ah thanks Kell :) I did wonder.. this whole bruised feeling isn't pleasant. God help my poor husband after the birth listening to me complaining. :(
Journey I noticed that she had dropped because then when I sat on a chair my bump would touch my legs, before it didn't. Won't be long!

Indira- thanks for asking but no, nothing yet. All feeling just the same, really can't believe he'll ever be here. So impatient! I was so impressed how calm you were going overdue by so much, I knew I wouldn't be the same!

IV -Do you have a plan set up? Induction, sweep, at home methods etc.... gosh I'd be pulling my hair out by now a full 6 days over..
Lol Indira, Isabelle is a month old now and I still continue to call her by ds2 name especially at night. I thought it was just me. Oh and i keep calling her a 'he' Sometimes I still can't believe I have a daughter.
Journey both names are nice maybe Kai flows a bit better but it's a middle name so it won't be said and used as much so it wouldn't matter which one you chose just go with your heart so you don't regret it.

I have tried a few home methods, there is a homeopathic pill caulophyllum that I've been taking for a week, dtd every day, walking, doing things on all-fours like cleaning the floor and gardening etc etc. Nothing working so far. Seeing the midwife on Wednesday so will discuss sweep options and probably plan a date for induction (although I really hope I don't have to do that/ wait that long).
I have never been over with the others so am really impatient now. I always felt so sorry for other people who went over their due dates, I knew I'd cope badly!!
You'll probably have your baby before me Winter! That low feeling in the pelvis is a good sign but can be super uncomfortable and painful. Sounds promising though.
Indigo I was the same with the boys, I was in labour on my due dates so knew things would be happening soon, with Lily I went 5days over and hated it, I had the sweep and bam she arrived lol. I think if I didn't have it I would have still been waiting for a few days.
It doesn't help with the heat huh, hope your managing to rest a bit and chill out.

Not much going on with me. A few BH which have been painful. A good excuse to practise the breathing.
Nesting must of started this morning. I was up at the crack of dawn moved all the furniture in the living room, emptied the book case, washed the windows, floors took the whole TV and sound system apart and cleaned everything !
Now its lunch time - It took me 4+ hrs I'm back in bed with my pelvis hurting to the point I can no longer stand :/
On another note ! He's more than welcome to come tomorrow. My midwife is back from holiday :D
Thanks kell, good to hear other similar stories. Am booked in for a sweep tomorrow so hopefully it will be the same as you and baby will arrive soon after! I'm so tired....

Thanks Winter, had the sweep about hour ago and now going to bed for a nap. Not to uncomfortable at all, just glad to be doing something proactive, hopefully it will work, will keep you posted!

Did the midwife say if you were dilated or if your cervix was long/short, high/low etcetc? Have everything crossed for you hun :) enjoy your nap!

Journey!! Any news yet?
Well, definite contractions now, but quite few and far between. So hard to tell what will happen. Fore-waters (or hindwaters can't remember what they are called but the little gush & trickle) went in the night and lost plug so things moving down there! Hardly got any sleep, a bit of adrenalin, discomfort etc. My dad here now to look after the boys so I am in bed trying to rest. Will keep you posted. Really really hope he is born today!
Oh indigo how flipping exciting :) I can't believe I haven't seen this till now! Your a good few hours further on now I hope things are moving forward for you!! Can't wait to 'meet' him!
