We personally use Real Salt which has other minerals in it too. I take a iodine supplement a couple of times a week too. If you eat tons of seafood you may not need more iodine. Thyroid issues (or obviously goiter) can indicate iodine deficiency, but lots of women with thyroid problems are also eating regular stripped down sodium table salt that has iodine added.
I think salting to taste is the best option for salt. Your body does a good job of letting you know what you need by how your food tastes. Just my opinions!
