Oh really?? My saw palmetto has gelatin in it?!?! :o
I just got my period, I'm wondering if I've been hoarding fluid or something in the lead up... :(

Yup, VERY likely. I retain about 2-3lbs of water before AF, and as soon as AF leaves the weight falls right off.
I'd give yourself a break, it's totally normal for the scale to go up and down, and you (general you) usually have a range of up to 5lbs a day (!!!) just from variances in water retention, etc. That's why it's best to weigh yourself first thing in the morning before eating/drinking anything, and after a BM. ;)
I don't remember, but are you working out at all? I'm doing the extreme-cardio version of the pink sway, and my daily workouts have me on a nice endorphin rush. It's a great counter to the fatigue and listnessness from the diet, and a good way not to think about eating, lol. Plus I can get away with eating more and stay on the high end of the LE diet range, I usually eat 1800-2000/day and still lost on that. Even if you can't commit to the extreme exercise, a daily walk outside would still help your energy levels.
Lace, I'm doing the couch potato version of the sway.. Haha. I can't committ to the full regime, so I've gone with nothing. It's kind of a bummer cos I have a 12 month FREE gym membership that's going to waste as we speak.. :o
So I weighed myself again about an hour later, I'd done another wee and stripped off to have a shower, and lo and behold, 0.2 kg down again. Yay!
Nevertheless I adjusted my diet today and added an apple and a baked sweet potato to my lunch.. So I had:
Corn tortilla pizza with lite sour cream and shallots (spring onions?)
Yoghurt
1 serve of (5) marshmallows (instead of 2 serves - 10)
Cucumbers and hommus
Baked sweet potato with lite sour cream and garlic chives fresh from my garden.
815 calories.. = full!!
For dinner I'm planning shiratake noodles with mushies, cabbage, leeks and zucchini, a little bit of light butter, 2 boiled eggwhites, a banana and a skinny cow ice cream.
446 cals.
Totals:
1261 cals
41 protein
34 fat
600 sodium
2500 potassium (thanks sweet potato!)
Is this diet ok?? I'm closing in on the 6 week mark and need it to be right...! ;)
Hi HopingforSaskia
The foods you are eating look fantastic for the LE diet. I wouldnt change much about what you are eating, I think it looks like you are getting it exactly right. I think I have read Atomic say somewhere that if you are eating a low fat, low protein diet, even if you werent losing a thing, you would still be strongly swaying pink. I have been holding to that thought. I have found my weight loss is very all over the place. I can go for weeks not appearing to lose a thing at all (VERY disheartening) and then all of a sudden 2-3kg goes very rapidly. I definitely retain weight or fluid just prior to AF and lose a lot as AF passes, that isnt the situation for you is it? I find weighing myself too frequently just makes me crazy, I start getting disheartened and discouraged if I dont see the scales moving quickly... then I start second guessing myself and the diet... just creates a lot of stress. Now I weigh myself once a week only, and I am less stressed. I think weight loss is not meant to be more than 500g in a week to be "healthy" anyway. I found that I lost a fair bit quickly when I started and then the losses werent as full on after that for a while... I think that is normal. I have also noticed that even when I havent seemed to lose anything on the scale some weeks, I am definitely losing fat from my stomach as it is getting skinnier all the time. Dont know how that works, but it suggests my body is still being affected by the LE diet even when the scales arent coming to the party. Dont forget most scales are meant to only be accurate to within 0.5 - 2kg anyway and things like time of day, time of the month, when you last ate and went to the bathroom can affect your weight. Anyway, sounds like you are doing a great job.... keep going, dont be discouraged (2 weeks isnt very long really to be on the diet yet so I am sure you will see more weight coming off as you continue to be on it) and I hope you get your pink bubba.
Oh I just wrote my comment above without having read your comment about AF... yep I DEFINITELY think that was part of it. I have always noticed myself that I retain weight before AF and drop it afterwards... I researched this recently and apparently it is very common amongst women. Your meals look yummo!
Thanks so much for your input! I don't know why I'm second guessing myself.. Silly really, since I spent literally weeks nutting it all out.. ;) hopefully when I weigh myself again the scales will show some improvement! :)
Diet looks good altho I'd like to see a hint more sodium - your body needs sodium, can't cut it out all together. 700-1000 mg
