Just got +OPK... NEED HELP!!

Yesterday when I got the positve smiley face when I pulled the test strip out the 2nd line was a lil faded.. we did not get to DTD last night. This morning I tested at 7 am and I got another smiley this tiime when I pulled the stick out it was much darker. We DTD and he could not finish and we had to go to work. The only chance we can DTD is tonight. Does anyone think I will be too late? I read that after ovulation the egg can live for 12-24 hours. And I read that it takes sperm 4 hours to get to the egg so I think I might be ok? If I go into O+12 category I will have to just try to counteract that by using the preseed and I plan to put a pinch of Baking soda in it, just a lil bit to up the PH. But Ive been taking fertile cm 3x a day for almost 2 weeks so i dont think the ewcm will be a problem. Wish me luck

I admit im not temping.. i know i should be. Im gonna test opk again tonight about 8 pm and praying i still have a smiley face. im using the clear blue easy. ive read where people have gotton preg by concieved 1-2 days after ovulation.. so i guess it can happen.. i hope this is our month because i am really sick of eating HE diet LOL.. I never thought Id say that but im over potatos and red meat LOL.

I am 100 percent with you and if it makes you feel better - my smiley faces stopped at 10pm which is when we BD the first time followed up with a final BD this morning. I would definitely say you are right on track! Frustrating that our smiley faces both arrived early! GOOD LUCK and keep me posted!

I totally don't believe in timing because according to Shettle's, both of my girls should have been boys. I think your timing for conception was perfect!!! Good luck!

Really? That makes me so happy to hear that. Was was your timing for your girls? We were debating whether to go for it again this morning and decided to, and honestly, I am happy that we made that decision. I just hope everything else was enough to sway boy. Thanks for the advice!

With both of them it was right at O. I had no clue about swaying back then, but was tracking ovulation using opk and temping. It's been a few years now, but we waited until I was most fertile and then made two evening attempts on consecutive days.

yeah i agree with you vanasse, my DD was concieved the min we saw the smiley face with 4 days of abstaining. according to shettles shes should have been a boy.... after everything i have read on this site i believe timining isnt as important. I think Atomic is 100% correct with the diet. I was trying to lose weight with DD was concieved. my fear is on this month is just trying to make sure i catch the egg, hectic work week and I am O'ing 3 days before im suppose to. I wasn't prepared. Idk if DTD tonight is going to put me into the O+12 category? I am wondering if its all the supplements that have to do with O early?

Accroding to Clearblue easy digital it says DTD within 48 hours, so hopefully im ok.. this is exhausting ttc lol. I wish i could be one of those women who just ends up with boys without trying.

One more question.... Ive read that (i think it was IG sorry) that 5 days before O or day before O has high chance for a boy. is that true?

DTD as soon as you can, don't wait around X number of hours trying to get it right on ovulation, it doesn't sway and it does cut down odds of conception. Do it tonight, you still have time. You may want to do it again tomorrow AM and even tomorrow night if you can.

You did NOT get your daughter becasue you DTD at the smiley. That had nothing to do with it, it was just a coincidence. Don't fear the smiley! :)

I def. advise using Preseed if you can get some. BSF has seemed to prevent conception for some people.
