It was a nice experience. I had a big tummy when I was conceived. Some said I will have a baby boy as I got a big tummy. Some said I have lost my beauty and that is a symptom of delivering a baby boy. Everyone was wrong :giggle:, and finally it was a baby girl :crawl:
I have 2 boys and this baby was surprise!! At first everyone said girl. I posted my 9 week ultrasound to announce my pregnancy on Facebook. My silly sister swore she saw a penis, lol! There is a little bump but we all know at 9 weeks they look the same. Now my sister and my mom are saying boy. My mom says it's just a gut feeling she has. She is usually right so I didn't like hearing her guess. My 8 year old son has said girl from day one. I even asked him the other day, "So, you think it's a boy?" And he said, "I hope it's a boy but I feel like it's a girl." I hope he's right so bad! I found out in less than week.
THIS. I think some people just really truly like to rain on your parade and other think they're doing you some favor because they think people are set for one gender or another. It's not true at all and it is totally possible to have 6 boys in a row and then turn around and have 6 girls in a row (Michelle Duggar did it without swaying!!)Quote:

People can just be mean and most pass gender comments without even thinking (you wouldn't walk up to a woman that can't conceive you go poor you, no babies , don't you feel sad everyone else gets one and not you - or something equally as mean) and i think most don't even realise how cruel they are or mean to hurt with them (but then i suppose if its something you've never faced you don't know how raw it can be), on the other hand i suppose some people like to see others fail.
To be honest i was so sick of the gender comments i didn't tell anyone i was pregnant until i was 24 weeks (although it was easier to hide it as it was winter and i just wore waterfall cardies etc). I hate the fact that gender comments make it sound like your existing gorgeous children are not enough (or worst still less than desirable - three boys, poor you - and right in front of them too, its really upsetting).
In reality though i still get plenty of them - with ds3 i kept getting poor you or aw no you'll have to try again in a few years or i'm sure you'll love him when he arrives (er excuse me we love him already he's hardly a consolation), now i stand a chance at a daughter its the fist thing everyone asks me - oh i hope you get a girl, do you know what it is, when i reply we think its a girl but it doesn't matter as long as its healthy most people go - oh are you sure, you know those scans are often wrong
You can't win either way so my best advice would be avoid it for as long as you can, its the last thing you feel like when m/s and tiredness are at a high
Well our first child was a surprise, so no one was able to tell me anything beforehand. My DH was convinced he was a girl, and a couple of my friends that didn't have kids said they hoped for a girl for me, but I knew he was a boy and actually wanted a boy first. I used to have this friend that kept telling me my second baby would also be a boy, that she just couldn't picture me with anything but boys, and it used to drive me nuts because she had two girls. Well she was right, my second child was a boy, although we didn't get to keep him. :tissue: Now it makes me sad to think about it. I guess she wanted me to have two boys because she had two girls and liked to dress them the same, and probably thought I would enjoy it too. I now believe she wasn't saying it to be mean at all, although I took it that way in the past.
People just say things without thinking, and oftentimes they really don't mean any harm. It's all how we interpret them.
I have a cousin who is the "baby gender predictor." He has 100% accuracy with gender predictions, it's kind of scary (over 40 correct predictions so far). I sort of want to ask him what my third baby will be, but I'm afraid of what he'll say, or if he can even predict future babies haha.
