And what about a testing aCGH on day 5 ? Is this as accurate as natera for gender ?

Depends I suppose on who you ask. Even Dr Potter said that aCGH is a very reliable technique for PGD when he was still doing day 3 Natera. I think at HRC they have had one opposite with CGH (not someone on the site) and Dr P said that 1 in the 1000's they have done is still extremely accurate.
The key is to go to a good clinic with a good reputation, I know mine has 2 doctors read and report on the findings, so a slip up is even harder.
I used CGH and I think I would of been just as worried about getting the wrong gender if I had used Natera or FISH.
For me, day 5 testing with FET was best, but so many people get pregnant on a fresh cycle.
But everyone is different. The pros of doing Natera and a FET for travellers are you only have to be there for ER, then you can go home and do FET if you have something available for transfer.
If you stay for the CGH you may not get a transfer and have stayed another 6 days longer.
If you do a FET, you know you have something for transfer, but there is the rare chance it does not thaw, it does take time to do a cycle, then a FET.
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, just what you can fit into your life. If going to the US twice is not an issue, then do the FET, if you have to make it one big holiday, do the fresh. For me this would be more of an issue than a gender opposite.
We all worry about it and it is a possibility for any testing (in my opinion) but it really should be the least of our worries.
Thanks Glory. I know about the NT : this is the way my first cycle finished in january !!
Thiis is hard decision
Of course we can stay there 2 weeks, and we prefer travelling from europe for 2 weeks only once (less tiring & we save money : one ticket plane & the cost of FET)
And don't tell my husband this is a great holiday : He says it's not holidays at all for him (such a rollercoaster !!!) Lol !!
I think going high tech is very stressful as there are so many decisions to be made ( how many to put back) hoping you get a transfer of the gender you want. I haven't started yet and all I do is think and worry will it work for me.
Good luck Gizmo, you've come to the right place to ask questions and get the support you need. We have learned so much and you will too!!
Worrying about an opposite from PGD is like not wanting to eat at Mc Donald's because a meteor might burst through the roof and hit you while you're eating. Mc Donald's might kill ya, but the odds are very high it's gonna be heart disease and not a meteor. PGD may not work out for ya, but the odds are all but 100% that if it doesn't work, it will be because you don't get pg, not because of a PGD opposite!
Good luck Giz, rooting for you. :)
We have not had a gender opposite in my laboratory using IVF/PGD. We are taking steps to further strengthen aCGH with GenderSure which involves a day 4 biopsy with aCGH plus PCR on the X and Y. GenderSure will come with a 100%, money back guarantee for correct gender.
Lol Atomic :-))
