I'm going 100% girl .. that looks nothing like my baby at 12 weeks... my baby had a penis already! Haha... I am really really sure this is a girl Emily :)

Yah, based on the first pic. To me there isn't a nub in the second pic I don't think. That's funny the tech knew about nub theory, maybe she's good at guessing! I only say boy because of the slight lean and being 12 weeks it still rises apparently (heard several ladies say that 13.5 weeks is the best because things don't rise anymore after that). I feel like most girl nubs are super flat and very straight.. only reason why I'm slightly leaning boy. I wouldn't bet my children on it or anything though ;)
Guessing girl :)
Hmm. Tough call. I think that I will lean a bit pink. It still does have time to angle. But if the tech was knowledgable about nubs and was guessing girl, I think I'll stick with that side, since we only have a couple picture and she probably saw a lot more.
Nubssessing is a hairy beast in itself. Good luck moving on ;) You are not alone with the feeling of obsession.
I say girl. Please check mine.
I am leaning girl too :)

Slight girl lean from me :)
Thanks for being so honest. That is exactly what I thought when I saw the nub and then she floored me with its a girl! Is it possible for nubs to move around? It looked more angled at times and at others completely flat! Annoying to be obsessing when I had taken the decision not too. Especially as DH is thrilled and convinced she is right. I was soooooo happy that the bean was healthy that I didn't need anything else to float out on cloud nine!
Because of the move I won't get another look till 20 weeks :(
Another friend IRL just told me she got a nub guess from her doc at 12 weeks too so maybe hat is something they are starting to do here. Weird as it is sooo early.
Ok so that is 12 girl
3 boy (including my guess)
Thank you all so much for your guesses. The ratio is exactly what I hoped for - enough pink guesses to give me hope but also some blue so that I don't get carried away and potentially disappointed later on if my hunch turns out to be right.
The tech said the nub was flattish but the spine was a bit curved so that the angle is still good for a girl. I thought that if the spine wasn't flat it couldn't be used for nub guessing? Is that right?
How funny that no one can see a nub in the second pic - that is the one I thought looked girly but perhaps I am not as good with nubs as I thought.
Based on first pic I'd totally guess girl. I wouldn't hazard a guess on the second pic as I don't really know what I'm looking at.
As for the tech guessing, I'd say her votes got to count for many of ours - particularly as she will have seen it lots, including it being in the optimal position which I suppose can happen to fast to snap a pic of. That being said I also asked my tech if she knew about the nub theory, she was like 'the what?' I said it was to do with the position of the genital tube and gender of the baby, she said nothing and moved down there, I was like 'oh its a boy' and she said (very calmly) 'I would have said girl' but said nothing more on the matter... They don't like to predict early here as people abort based on gender. So I don't know if she did know the theory but not by that name or if she didn't but just happened to think girl. Long story!! But I think the fact you can say with certainty that your tech did know the theory and guessed girl is pretty cool!!
As for the spine, I thought the idea was to use the angle of the bottom of the spine as your guide for comparing the angle of the nub?
