You should go ahead with you & your doctors plans.
What I've read was that baby's induced that were in distress were more likely to have autism...and if that were true, my oldest would definitely have it. By the time my doctor did the c-section on me, she had to get on top of me on the table, straddle me & pull him out of the birth canal. It was HORRIBLE.
Anyway, even if that were true about inductions & babies in distress....a scheduled induction is MUCH less stressful. All 3 of my sisters babies were scheduled inductions & none of them have it.
The sad truth is, I think they keep throwing stuff to the wall hoping something will stick. I hope we find out what causes it, but we probably never will.

Ya I agree... They'd re trying to place blame..l and then in the end all these studies do is contradict each other

My sister showed me this study about a week ago and I got all worked up about it so I had my DH read it (he is a Dr.) and he put my mind at ease that this by no means should stop me from being induced.

I would assume that more medically complicated pregnancies are more likely to be induced and there may be something about some of these pregnancies and/or fetuses that can be linked to autism. Which means that the induction is the confounder rather than the cause. And doesn't mean that every complicated pregnancy = increased risk of autism or that, conversely, every uncomplicated pregnancy = no risk.

All 4 of my current children (1 girl, 3 boys) were induced. None of them have any issues what so ever.

I was induced with ds1 because of high blood pressure at 37 weeks. He is number 1 student in his year group and is very good natured and smart. Other two were born naturally at 41 weeks and both are not as easy as ds1! They don't have autism, but my induced son has been the easiest and smartest sp far!
I am sure there is no correlation between induction and autism.

My first one was induced and doesn't have autism. I am a bit skeptical about all those new researches, I find them alarmist and sometimes totally blown out of proportion. They raise the issue before actually finding all the facts. I wouldn't worry too much!
