You could always come and live in England - we had our whole summer in April and it's been miserable ever since. We've been stuck inside all weekend while it pours down with rain!

There is a peak of girl conceptions in April and then a peak of boy conceptions in October, but think of it more like a yearly cycle...a pinnacle of boy conceptions in Oct. dwindling down to a yearly low in April and then starting back up again. So as you get closer to October, your odds go up and as you get farther from October, your odds start to go down until you hit the low point in April. The best three months for blue are Sep-Nov. Aug and Dec. are prob. still boy friendly (although I feel "better" about Aug than Dec. because day length and ambient temperatures may be cues that your body picks up on.

The best three months for pink are Mar-May. June and Feb are prob. still girl-friendly (although I feel "better" about Feb. for girls than June because of the day length and temperatures)

July and Jan are prob. somewhat neutral, although (as you may have guessed LOL) I feel "better" about July for boys and Jan. for girls.

Ok so if your in the southern hemisphere like i am, how would this work? what would be the best time to ttc?
I conceived my first boy in Dec and my second in Sept, my step son was concieved in Aug

It is the exact opposite for you, in the Southern Hemisphere we might expect to find (to my knowledge, this HAS NOT been studied yet - I am extrapolating the data from the Italian studies) a peak in boy conceptions in April and a peak in girl conceptions in Oct. You would be one of the lucky "opposites" like me LOL.

One clarification, I was away camping this week and realized that my son that I have thought for 15 years was conceived in October, was actually conceived in AUGUST! o.O Not sure how I did that but I just wanted to let everyone know that if you read any thread where I say that, I was confused at some point and then I never went back and thought about it!!

My other sons 100% for sure really WERE conceived 2 in March and one in June!

Even if this is true, keep in mind that just because someone is born in a certain month doesn't mean that's when they were conceived. A lot of babies are premature.

So what your saying is id be best to ttc pink in april-aug? I have noticed here alot of girls are born in late dec through to march, most of the babies born are girls. for example as this is a small town and everyone knows everyone, 9 people who had babies in the new year through to march, 7 had girls and two had boys, now all the people finding out what they are having now which are half way through their preg and due to have babies from july- nov are all due with boys, i honestly dont know any of them that are having girls, 3 people i know are having a suprise but 13 others are having boys, (lots i know but ike i said, smallish town not much to do LOL) just kidding but its like theirs baby boy boom going on and then its a baby girl boom!

NO, I'm saying that in the southern hemisphere you should do the exact opposite and TTC a girl in Sept, October, Nov.

There are often "runs" on a particular gender it seems like and it doesn't count until it's in the hundreds or thousands of people.

I have noticed that here too. We were on a major girl wave here when I conceived both my DDs. Especially DD2--I knew about 8 people having girls at the same time, and only 2 boys. Right now there seems to be a boy wave, so I am hoping to hop on!

There was definitely a girl run in our town in 2007 - my DS2 is starting school in September and in his class there are 21 girls and 9 boys!!
