Bump
1)explanation here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...91-clomid.html
2)hard to say because while you'll possibly release more eggs, your CM will be worse and it may end up as a toss up
3)i do not recommend it for over 35 because it can raise fsh, but some doctors do prescribe it and some people have tried it with various levels of results.
4)depends on doctor, some hand it out freely and others really won't give it even to those who legitimately need it. does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I would not go in asking for clomid because they hardly ever give it in that scenario. you need to go in because you want to get pg and aren't able to, not because you're looking for clomid. I woudl not even mention the word clomid.
5)I dont' know and don't have time to add them up. several sets of twins including many who did not have happy endings. :(
6)vary by individual

Thanks atomic, so after reading #3 and #5 above, do you think it's better to not even try clomid (me)?
if you have your FSH levels checked and they are ok, then it's probably ok to use for people in the 35-37 age range. I'm wary for those 38 and up.
Re the twins, I really used to think the risks were overblown but just giving it to you straight, we have had way more sad stories than happy ones with the twins (and it's not just Clomid, natural twins too) so I have to be the "bad guy" and mention that it's really a dangerous situiation not to be taken at all lightly.
