Does the forked looking nub bother y'all this early as to mean girl?

Would a girls nub be so prominent?

My 12 week ultrasound on my ds2 had a forked nub. I had that hope he could of been a girl but no hes a boy! :)

I'd bet that nub would look entirely different a week from now. I wouldn't worry. Ill bet it's a boy :)

The nub generally only BEGINS to rise at the start of week 12, how unusual your tech was aware of the theory, but wasn't very accurate!

Techs like that need to be smacked with their ultrasound probes!! Why would they know the nub theory but not know that it isn't all that accurate until later in the 12th week. If you aren't getting an NT scan I would be demanding they do another uls free of charge because their tech ran their mouth. You paid way to much money to have that kind of worry for the next several weeks.

Wow sorry I thought I answered this already but that tech should be reported and fired for giving gender guess at that stage gestation.

Both boys and girls start out life looking like girls, and it's only once the Y chromosome kicks in about 10-11 week mark, that the proto-clitoris will start to grow and enlarge and turn into a penis. Both genders are identical at that stage and any tech giving gender guesses is an idiot.

So at 15w1d I had a scan and this is what we saw

Let me tell you the first 5 minutes of the ultrasound were scary, she immediately gets a potty shot and there is nothing there. Like I know u/s 9/10 would have said girl, the only thing off was no distinct 3 lines. She knows we did HT and later she told us it was the most nervous she had been in an u/s when she saw nothing was there. She regrouped and went at another angle and he was no cooperating, it took 5 more minutes but then she finally got a different view and there was a penis!!!!

She printed off the "girl" pic to save for a class she teaches at the college to go over the need at 15 weeks to really check different angles bc the baby can be slightly leaned back and the penis is not visible bc of how small it is at this stage

Huge congrats and this is great info for all of us to have (that she couldn't see anything for 5 whole minutes even at 15 weeks!). Thanks for your update and I am so happy for you! Boys are awesome!
