Sylk has a pH balance of 4.5 - 4.7, similar to the normal vaginal environment, i.e. slightly acidic. This is deliberate to keep the vagina healthy and not alter the balance. Sylk is not intended as a spermicide however, its pH balance (like most other lubricants) can affect motility, the movement of sperm and therefore should not be used if you're trying to conceive. I do know of at least ONE sway where I was sure, on basis of personality, a particular person was going to have a boy. But she used Sylk and got a girl. I don't think anything is a magic bullet, but she was one of the first who dared to use Sylk and it def. worked out for her.
I am so happy to hear that because I used sylk on all my attempts. I was worried about the testosterone - even though I did as much to lower it as I could my elder son was driving me mad!! I tried soooo hard to be calm and ignore most of it but as he's slightly ADHD there were moments I would loose my cool and get mad and then burst into tears haha
I conceived with it. Don't know the gender yet, though.
