Yup same with our case mil passed away in September last year after 5 years of not seeing her 2 oldest grandsons and as for my youngst she only met him for about 10mins about 5 years ago when he was 2days old. It's so sad that you don't get to see family for one reason or another!
Also I find its not just baby sites that expect you to have friends and family around, it's midwives and health visitors,doctors and social workers.
I lost count of how many times I have been asked don't you have any family or friends to support you or talk too? Then I have to explain I don't then they look at you if the problem with it al actually lies with you not them!
Very true. Midwives want you relaxing for two weeks but my dh takes a couple days off and is back to work. Luckily they come for all home visits for baby can't imagine how most women are expected to go to for all their checkups after babe. They need to bring back home visits.
