I'm a breastfeeding supporter and there is no evidence to suggest that you need to wean your current child. There's a chance they won't like the changes as your milk goes back to colostrum but there will be no detrimental impact on either child or you
I agree a totally CYA thing.
The thing is, it isn't easy to do it - on YOU. It's challenging - especially the first time I did it - and I felt not only some pain (just at the start when he'd latch on which then went away) but an aversion where I just really, really didn't want to nurse. This peaked around 5 months and got better after that. I felt that it was psychological/instinctive and not some "sign from my body" as I was eating fine and gaining massive quantities (esp. with DS 4 o.m.g) I occasionally had to stop and walk around for a while till I could regroup and try again. But I pushed through it. I did not have much milk by the end, again especially the first time, and I remember the first time I nursed him after my milk came in, this palpable sense of relief like he was thinking "Oh thank goodness it's back again".
I really enjoyed tandem nursing and it was worth every moment even those hard times when I didn't think I could do it any more. I was never engorged at all and any time I had even a hint of mastitis it cleared up right away. :)
As for the babies in utero, my 4th was 8 lbs (same as my 2nd son who I did not nurse with) and DD, I was actually nursing TWO at the beginning of the pregnancy LOL and she is my second biggest baby at 8 lbs 6 oz! So their size didn't suffer and they're both bright normal kids so I do not believe that it harms babies at all either!!
xxforhubby: would love to hear what you did for your girl sway! I am pg with ds1 and am already thinking of a sway for dd! How old was your son when you started to sway? What was your plan?
Tons of sways in this thread girlsplease!! Welcome! http://genderdreaming.com/forum/add-your-girl-sway-/

Most of us track ovualtion with OPK strips OR just have unprotected sex eveyr 4 days if we aren't ovulating yet.
