A lot of the folks who are willing to go to this level of babymaking are also doing it somewhat out of religion and thus don't want to mess with God's will, which is of course their prerogative. :)

yes thats the interesting thing isnt it, weather that drive would cross over and be projected onto the other gender if you had had your "dream gender" right off the bat, i had that same drive but for a girl and did wonder if id had 4 daughters instead would i have obsessively longed for a son.. and i think i probably would have but for very different reasons, i think the loss of our 1st daughter played a huge role in my desire to have another girl which only got fuelled more with each boy.

I really really wanted a boy with my first and I was thrilled to get him. Had no preference with #2 either and it was a very sweet moment when I looked down and saw he was a boy!! But yes I did eventually start wanting a girl just as bad as I had wanted a boy.

i would be very surprised if the desire for the opposite gender didnt creep in eventually, i think its natural to want to experience both.
gotta admit i would love to go through a pregnancy with no preference like you did with your #2 :)

I know, I really feel for the ladies who have a strong desire from their very first kiddo and don't get what they wanted. :heart:
