ovulating left or right - gender myth?

Well, crazy beyond crazy is that the loss of the tube is not a dealbreaker for two reasons - firstly because there is likely some biochemical feedback that makes the ovary + tube be more likely to ovulate, and secondly (and almost unbelievably, but 100% true) people have gotten pregnant from the left ovary and the right tube. It actually can cross over to get the egg from that other side somehow, which boggles my mind but apparently seems to be true since we know of people with only one ovary and only one tube, on opposite sides, that have gotten pregnant!

My mum was one of those people who fell pregnant with one ovary on one side and a tube on the other. Unfortunately ended in miscarriage though.
However she was older by this stage. After that loss, she decided she didn't want any more kids.
