Kbird, you will likely do better on this style of diet instead of the super high carb version of LE Diet. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html (you do not need to have PCOS to do this diet, I just stuck it here for the sake of convenience) WE are actually getting better results with this style of diet and I'm having more and more people use it. I would honestly try having everyone use it but it's much harder to stick to, is much more expensive for those for whom that is an issue, and some people will find their weight flies off without the empty carbs.

Thanks Atomic, I've been reading through the alternate diet and trying to wrap my mind around it. I guess I feel like I'm just starting to get the hang of LE diet and making it fit into my lifestyle, so I might stick with it for now and see how it goes. For now I've been able to tweak my foods (staying in limits) so that it seems like I'm maintaining my weight. it's been about 5 weeks and I don't really need to lose any weight just hold steady. It's just been a learning process figuring out how my body handles certain foods. As others mentioned, lots of times i think I am bloated from eating so many veggies so that can be hard to figure out too, haha.
Do you think there's any value in focusing more on Whole grains and less on empty carbs while staying on the LE diet or does that just not work?

Yes that is fine and may help. The empty carb vs. whole grain idea was always a gray area and since we're seeing such good results with the alt. diet I have concluded that whole grains obviously can't be swaying blue so you can use them at yoru discretion, and very well may have better results with them (vs. tons of sugar)
Please understand that the alternate diet is STILL LE Diet. The calories, protein, and fat limits are really all very much in line with standard LE Diet. People think it's an entirely different thing but really it's the same, just with slightly more protein/fat (in some cases, since the fat level is the same as standard LE, just at the higher end) and without the empty carbs. So you aren't not doing LE Diet if you go on the alt. version of it.

Ah gotcha. Thanks so much for clarifying! That makes so much more sense to me now. I'll use more whole grains and see how that goes!
