So a release is different to an attempt? I'm fine not worrying about the frequency of release, I was just concerned that a release might count as an attempt (if that makes any sense?!) But I think what we're saying is somehow they are different.

Sorry to jump in, release is not considered attempt because DH will either release alone or with you using protection or pull out, thats what I understand from Atomic's respond, also one attempt is to release inside once. I don't know maybe Atomic can explain further. And sorry to jump inQuote:

Yep that's right. A release is just an ejaculation. It won't necessarily get you pregnant. An attempt is unprotected sex that you can conceivably (er...so to speak) get pregnant from .Quote:
