Secondly, I do want to let everyone know that the whole prog = girls idea is just one theory out of many. It may not be true. The girls on IG have taken this idea to places that the original researcher never intended and probably does not even agree with. And that you can tell ANYTHING about the gender of baby you are going to conceive based on your temperatures is really totally unproven. I don't think anyone should obsess over what their temps are or despair if their temps are higher or lower than anyone says they "should" be.

I want to know what DH is supposed to do with the Altoids. :) I think I am missing something. LOL

They are "curiously strong" peppermints, maybe they can affect hormones somehow?

I personally would not give peppermint to DH because it may lower estrogen and DH should have higher estrogen for TTC a girl.

I want to add to the temp theory (I have 2 DD's) and this is just *me* not scientific evidence, but I've learned through charting (I've been charting for years as birth control so I am insane about my cycle) is that when my temps are low pre O, I tend to have a higher libido that month. Not sure if that means I have an increase in testosterone or b.c of lower progresterone. But I often find them to be a matching pattern.

hi Girlmum, is that you trick a really low fat low everything diet. This must be where I went wrong as I always have breakfast, lunch and dinner and lots of bits between. I can't help it I'm a hungry girl. Mostly healthy, lost of fruit and veg, but also love sweet stuff. Trying your way would do me a favour as I have two stone to loose since my last baby, 5 months old. Strange how I see lots of large ladies with girls though. I agree with the time as I have done the shettels method before O and had my last two boys. Plus I don't like milk much. I did try more calcium in my diet with DS3 and calc and mag supps but maybe not long enough before? Your house must be so full of pink your poor DS, does he really want a boy. My DH isn't worried about having any more but think he will go ahead just for me, possibly one last time? You can have all my blue dust (I have two sets of fottie boots to clean now !)

Always drunk tons of milk/eaten dairy and have 4 boys - I personally think dairy/calcium sways BLUE!! the calcium conundrum - CONTROVERSIAL

Somebody's husband was eating a lot of Altoids. When this thread was first written, I believed at that time that peppermint was a no-no for DH because it lowered estrogen (this is what I was told back on IG) and for DH we want lower T and higher E. Since then, I went and did my own research and it looks to me like it actually raises estrogen and would therefore be ok for DH.
