We do not know if we want calcium to be absorbed into our bones or not for swaying pink.

To be honest, Atomic, I don't think a lot of pinks swayers follow your caloric guidelines. I think a lot take the "less is more" strategy and take in a lot less calories than 1500-1800. I know when I was following the food thread, which is very slow right now, I was always saw that I was eating way more food than anyone else even though I was usually eat 1300-1600 a day. Most people were eating like 800-1100 a day. I am still hungry, but that's b/c I like to eat, but it isn't a starvation diet for sure. If I can eat birthday cake, popcorn, frozen yogurt, bread, veggies, etc, not even close!
I agree that the LE Diet is not at ALL a starvation diet, and it really irks me when people call it one. I mean, 1500-1800 cals a day is NOT STARVING and when you look at all the food ideas/meal plans available to pink swayers, we actually do have a lot of options for food and ways to feel very satisfied on the diet. The key is just to be a little bit more creative, careful, and conscious of our food choices.
I also have to agree with Amari - I think some people do take the diet too far and consume way too few calories, thus MAKING it a "starvation" diet, even though the LE Diet is not in any way intended to be one.
I just got a gym membership with dh last week. Everyday this week I have done at least a hour of Cardio and try to sit at least 10 mins in the sauna. Even if you start slow its something. Honestly before going and working out I felt depressed run down tired. I could sit and eat all day no problem. I have noticed a huge difference in my energy and ability to get up and get going in the morning. I feel like working out is a big thing in swaying pink with both my boys I wasnt working out or eating anything healthy. Atomic says do the opposite right? Let's hope so.
Good for you, Mrshill! I just renewed my gym membership this week, too. My plan is to become a gym rat, LOL! ;) I'm hoping to get involved in a lot of the classes, doing tons of cardio. I know this will not only help me lose weight and help me have a better sway, but I will start feeling better again, too. I always have tons more energy when I exercise and feel happier and less depressed, less sluggish too! :agree:
Yes, doing the opposite of what you've done before (when it sways pink, of course!) is the right way to go! :agree:
When I got pg with DS1, I was a total couch potato, no exercise at all. I also ate a VERY boy-friendly diet, was putting on a few pounds, and then the holidays came and I definitely over-indulged in lots of fattening foods, was still gaining weight with no exercise what-so-ever, then in January got pregnant.
With DS2, I had lost some weight, was about 10 pounds lighter than I was when I conceived DS1, was eating very healthy (but protein-packed!) foods, was doing moderate exercise (about 30-45 min, 3 times a week), about equal amounts of cardio and weights. Got kind of relaxed with my diet/exercise the month we started TTC, put on just a couple pounds (still ate pretty healthy and was exercising a bit though), and BAM - got pg that month.
Even though these two scenarios are different from each other, they were both heavily swaying boy. This time around, I will be doing EVERYTHING differently (diet, exercise, etc.), BUT will be making sure that it's all "pink friendly" things! ;)
I was a total gym rat with both my boys LOL I worked out 1 hr a day 6 days a week with #1, with #2 I would work out 1 hour, go on a long walk, about 1 hour, (up tons of hills around our area) pushing DS1 pretty much every day or do the elliptical at home if it was raining, 3x a week I'd do 1 hour cardio, plus power yoga sometimes followed by pilates since I loved the teacher of yoga and pilates so much and I ran alot also. I mean I worked out like a mad woman lol. Lost lots of weight also before getting pg again (all pregnancy weight only 5 mo gap). I did eat chicken every night and lunch meat for lunch so i'm sure my diet did me in for DS2 but still, I wasn't swaying either pg. this time I plan on not working out at all, how I will do that I really don't know. I will probably cave and end up doing the vinyasa flow yoga and run from time to time since it keeps me so calm and honestly I am just the type that can't not work out. I really think I would lose my mind.
All in all, I'd say do the opposite!
