Hey Dannicka - how do you find the trigger shot? Does it make you feel sick at all?
Printable View
Maple, my OB prescibed it... But I need an U/S on CD 12 so he can see how the eggs are growing and then he decides when I need the shot so you can't just use it without help of the OB I guess? It's made of HcG so it makes you feel pregnant, from sensitive boobs to feeling sick haha so it's not that much fun because I never know what I'm feeling and why :p
I usually get +OPK Days 14-16 and have a 13 day LP then AF shows and with the clomid there has been no change - i read it is 5-7 days after last pill but mine has been about 9-10 days but still puts +opk at the same time it usually comes so no delay for me :-)
We started DTD sat night, sunday morning monday night and got the +opk today tuesday morning so the sunday morning and monday night swimmers might meet the egg if it pops out today or tomorrow and we plan to dtd tonight wed and thursday ( which will be 1dpo ) just to be sure - might even throw friday night in for good measure !! ha ha
I know I am a little late to the party but I had the exact same question!! I have to perfect baby boys and need that little girl to complete our family. Since this is going to be our last baby(most likely) I will be swaying like crazy lol. I go see my Dr on the first for my 1st round of clomid so I wanted to get all of my research done now! My last baby I got pregnant the first round of 50 mg with twin boys but had a 2nd trimester loss of one of them :(
eezi, sorry I'm not seeing a question?? If you need help with something, feel free to start a new thread, that's easiest for me.
For those using clomid - what days did you take the clomid? What additional supplments (full names as I dont understand the abreviations yet lol) and if any jellies were used?
Im 39 so considering natural swaying and/or PGD as this will be last baby and desperately want a girl.
if you are 39, do not use Clomid without having a FSH test done first because it can raise FSH
hey I swayed pink and took clomid caught the second month, don't know the outcome yet thou :fx:
I'm starting clomid next week sometime! Can't wait! Just how easy is it to conceive whilst taking it? Also is the big o still a no-no whilst taking it or would it help the swimmers along a bit in a hostile environment?

I am going to bump because I am curious about the big O too! Or is it a wait and see thing? Like if you have cm don't and if you don't do! ?
Hi girls, can I ask are you using Clomid for fertility issues or swaying? Were you prescribed it?
I have been reading a lot about it, also been reading the sways that include it and results are very promising!
hey 2lovelyboys
i had been ttc for 8 months and some months i wasn't o-ing on my own, second month of clomid i got a bfp, both ds's pretty much one hit wonders. I think it will be interesting to see if clomid still sways if you don't need it to concieve - i think that one is still a bit unknown as yet
with regard to the big O after 8 months i decided to relax and go with the flow, it worked in that i finally got preggie......time will tell whether it worked for teh sway but you can't have a girly if you don't have a baby.....I personally think in the mix it's not the most important factor and if you're on clomid you should be trying to get preggie quickly as it's not something you should take long term or for more than 6 months in a row.
good luck ladies xx
Hi Ladies, I took clomid on and off for two years when first ttc 8 years ago and obvs didn't mind which sex. I wasn't swaying at all, didnt use lubes or opk and eventually conceived a boy, when he was one i took clomid again for just one cycle, again no swaying involved, but clearly didnt need the clomid this time and conceived TRIPLETS! All BOYS!!! So, I would never use clomid again and know i no longer need it as cycles have become normal and regular (I wasn't ovulating before)... I am now TTC PINK.... Best of luck to everyone x
I'm not sure if anyone is aware of it but supposedly taking the amino acid NAC improves ovulation response when using clomid. Here is the study.
N-Acetyl Cysteine May Help PCOS If Clomid Fails - Infertility
Worked for me, i took it just for swaying, its suppose to sway pink stronger if your taking it cause you don't need it as i believe taking it for pcos etc although it sways pink you naturally sway blue so it can lessen the effect.
I don't check the ttc threads much anymore but if anyone wants to pm me am happy to discuss my sway (it often seems more accurate than reading it as i'm happy to discuss it in context etc).
I was one of the only ones on here taking it at the time we were ttc, since then a lot of girls seem to be on it whilst swaying, a few just for swaying reasons alone so its worth keeping an eye on the due date groups for results. Its no pink bullet though (but then you all know that) as i know one girl who swayed with abstinence and got blue but then tried again with a stronger pink sway and got her girl. The only thing i would say is if your taking it for swaying reasons do a hard sway with it (you can conceive naturally if all else fails unlike some of the other girls and the stricter the sway the more likely your chances, i caught first month with a good sway behind me!)
Do you have the link to your sway Mrs P? I'd love to see! :)
Found it, N/M! Congrats on your baby girl!
It's not a magic bullet, but nothing is.
Clomid does not sway blue, even though people do get boys while taking it.
Swaying never comes down to just one thing...not even Clomid.
Wow Fish more clomid twins!!! I hope at least one of those is your dd! I'd really love clomid twins too :D

I conceived DS1 on 50mgs of clomid on my fourth cycle.
Yeah, I was taking it for PCOS, I was eating a heck of a lot at the time as I was trying to increase my BMI, as I was very underweight. At one point I was eating something every half hour to try and gain weight. I also started eating red meat again after being vegetarian for about 5 years. I was taking pregnacare plus with the omega fish oil too.
Thanks for sharing, much appreciated. This is a good example of how clomid isn't a silver bullet for TTC pink, and LE diet still needs to be in place, but it certainly gets good stats when used with other sway factors. I feel for you, I had those same eating patterns with ds1 and 2 (minus the clomid). If nothing else at least this site has given me answers as to why I got two boys!!!
Best of luck if you choose TTC one more and sway.
Thanks for getting back to us, Serendipity and good luck with your sway.
Hi. I saw all of u swayed with clomid. What days did u take it on? Did u have a trigger shot? I want to do clomid but don't want twins!! They r a blessing I'm a twin myself my dh only wants 2. What days would u suggest? There r a lot of twins here from swaying
I'd discuss that with your dr when you get to the appointment. I'm assuming you need clomid to conceive? There is a greater risk of twins for those who take it and don't NEED it to conceive.
My dr said normal twins risk for my age (under 30) with no family history was only 1%. He said for the dose of 25mg taking it cd 5-9 would only increase the risk to 3%. Taking more increases it and he ended up putting me on 50mg. I have read other studies that say 7% risk for my scenario, not sure about if you have a family history but I know that does increase your risk.
I ended up taking mine 3-7 (dr didn't mind) because that's mid way between more eggs (2-6 would make lots of eggs and more chance of twins) and better quality eggs (5-9 would be one good egg). I was worried about my luteal which is what I got prescribed clomid for and decided 3-7 was best for early o and lengthening luteal phase based on when I tried soy iso and what that did to my o and luteal. Dr had already told me that was safe for me so that's what I did.
I know a lot of people that have twins in real life too so I don't think there are a lot just from swaying. But I don't mind if I got them. It would be SO hard but I wouldn't mind as its our last pregnancy.
I don't need it. I got a dr to give it to me because I lied and got it for swaying tactics. U think my chances r even higher? I'm an identical twin so that's random it counts for no history. I'm 35. My dr said to do 2-6 I'm going to have to call. I read u can lie about your period day so u can take it later but that can be risky? I can def get it pushed to 3 days-7 , if I get af to late the night before. So weird because this dr said He has never seen a 35 yr old deliver twins. I went to Rma ny which is a popular fertility clinic. I also told him my cycles were 21 days but they r 28 days. I also read since I ovulate on my own on day 14 that I should take it early. He wants to give me a trigger shot to time ovulation bt the way. Do u think my best day is 5-9?
I think it's hard because you told him your cycle length was different so he's maybe not got all the info. Pm atomic about it she may help. She's seen so many women use clomid. I know I have 3 friends with twins and two were over 35 at conception. Identical twins is an egg that splits, rather than two separate fertilised eggs, and you are right they aren't supposed to be hereditary, however one of my twin friends (who was also over 35) was an identical twin and had identical twins.
If you really want to take it later just tell him you got your days mixed up and did it accidentally. A trigger shot seems unnecessary if you get af and ov at regular times anyway.

I agree with what Meeks said.
Earlier days for more but less mature eggs, later days for less but better quality eggs.
I have taken it from CD5-9 as I also want to reduce the risk of multiples. I am also taking it for mild PC ovaries.
One other thing: Most doctors will tell you that if twins would be a problem for you, then Clomid may not be the best option for you. I think this is even more the case if you do not actually need it as this will increase the risk even more.
I hear you, it is a hard decision. Do u have to take clomid for 5 days to work, can u take it for 4 days or that isn't how it works? What if I took 50mg on three days and the other two 25mg? The girls that did 25mg did they end up with girls? Ok, so if I am not going to take it on day 2-6. I don't think days 3-7 is that big of a difference anyway. 5-9 obviously is! Which days do you suggest for days 3-7 or 5-9? I may do close to what he recommends this month. My husband would be more understanding to identical twins since that happens it is a split that randomly happens but the fraternal thing he will be more obvious it happened from clomid. I just know 3 kids will be a lot. I think 1 is a lot! I want that girl and I do not want to have any regrets. I rather try with clomid and take a risk, then have 2 boys and never took a risk. Now if I ended up with twin boys i would say that would just be that I was meant to have boys! You guys don't know but I looked into doing IVF this year for family balancing. I spent the whole year really researching it and then I backed out when I realized I would be spending a lot of money for something that wasn't a sure thing. There was way to much money involved to pick out my gender. I then looked into the swaying and now this into the clomid. I do like the idea of the trigger shot and it also helps you get pregnant quicker. I do want to get pregnant fast, and I am going to be trying at the end of May. I would like to have a baby girl, but I want to have a healthy baby girl that is the most important a healthy child whether its a boy or a girl. I have an identical twin sister and I know how special the bond is between a mother and a daughter and a sister, and I wanted to share that bond with a daughter since the bond with a son is just different. I have a niece and she is beautiful and I love being with her, but I just want my own daughter. If I do not end up with a daughter I will not be upset at all! I will know I tried everything to make it happened and it just wasn't meant to be! I now know I can try clomid and not spend any crazy money, but the only risk is I may have twins. If I am meant to have twins, then that is what will happen. I do want to bring that risk down, but I would like the doctor who i pick to know what days I am doing since I could lose the clomid all together if my doctor thinks something is wrong. he can also pull me off the clomid and put me onto something else if he thinks something is wrong because the days 2-6 are not working etc. i am going to tell him my correct days of my period since I am going to be waiting 2 more months. I am due March 24 and the following month another 28 days. I will then call him in April, and tell him my cycles have been longer i can tell him 28 days and one cycle was 29 days, and then tell him I still am still not pregnant and that I am trying clomid next month in May. And, then I will tell him I would rather take it on later days. Do u think the days should be 3 to 7 OR 5-9? I saw two of the girls on here got twins on 4-8, on clomid for swaying only!
I think I should do it on 3-7 and not throw off my body by too much. My body normally would ovulate around day 16/17 or maybe earlier. If day 5-9 u dont ovulate until day 20, then wouldn't I be just throwing off my whole cycle all together?
I get my period 28 days exactly. I was in the doctor office last week on my 18th day, and he said I had already ovulated on my left ovaries.
If days, 4-8 is later in the cycle and so is 5-9, when do u think is the best time for me?
I am 35 going to be 36 in July.
Personally if you do not need the Clomid to ovulate and are worried about the risk of multiples, I would choose CD5-9. That would mean less, but better quality eggs. I went for a scan today to see the effect the Clomid had and the doctor said I should expect to ovulate within the next few days. I am on CD13 today and have ovulated on CD26 and CD25 the last two cycles whilst on Vitex. Also, if you have a look on Fertility Friend for women who took Clomid, you will find that quite a few who took it CD5-9 ovulated within the 5-10 days after the last pill (which is normal).
One last thing: I realise you do not want to mess your body up too much, but don't forget that messing your cycle up actually sways pink.
I ovulate on my own and my fertility doctor gave me clomid to bring ovulation back from cd18-24 like I was, to cd 14 like he wanted. He also wanted it will extend my luteal from 10-12 days to 14 days. I didn't have to lie to get it other than saying i'd been trying for over a year (it had been 10-11 months at the time), so obviously they do use it for women that ovulate on their own. He looked at my charts on ff and said I definitely ovulate. I just ov way later than 'normal' and have a short luteal (which I extended with soy iso for last 3 cycles). I left the soy out when talking to him, but he saw all my charts.
However he did mention the risk of twins is higher if you are on clomid and ov on your own. But the lower the dose the lower the risk.
Please DO NOT take odd/mixed doses like you suggested or only take it 4 days. It's designed to be taken in the same amount each day over 5 days and clomid is actually an infertility drug, which when taken for 5 consecutive days only, starting cd 2-5, had the unexpected side effect of treating infertility (also swaying pink) by blocking oestrogen for the 5 days then causing a surge after. Taking it differently can cause long term infertility.
If you pm atomic she will let you know what days she thinks but I agree 5-9 is less risk of twins and seems ok for you.
FYI everyone ovulates differently on clomid so it's not a set thing that 5-9 would mean you o on cd 20. It's 5-10 days after last pill as a rule of thumb.
I personally took soy iso 5-9 and it made me o 6 days late at cd24. When I took it 4-8 I o'd on cd20 and 3-7 on cd18-19. So since clomid works in a similar way I'm trying 3-7 first to see what happens but also because I don't mind the risk of twins.
Ok, so then I do need to do it on days 5-9. I just wish somehow I can get the RE On that page without having to not tell him. I just hate to not be on the same page about the number of the days, because he will then see that the clomid maybe isn't working on me as fast as it needs to. he also didn't want to give me clomid at first but i told him no that is what i wanted.
Is there anyway he would go a little later, that maybe u would have any ideas? Maybe the first month I could tell him I was sick, so I didn't want to mix the two medications together. And, tell him i took it 4-8, but really took it 5-9?
I promise i will take it 5 days in a row and atomic suggests to stick to 50mg.
This may be a very naive question so I apologise in advance!
How would your Dr know what days you took your clomid?
This may be a very naive question so I apologise in advance!
How would your Dr know what days you took your clomid?
I think it is the right thing to try to get your RE on side with all the correct info.
Why don't you just tell him that you done lots of research and you'd like to take it CD5-9 as you feel egg quality is more important to you than quantity? That will show that you know your stuff and I am sure he'll appreciate your honesty. Also, it will make things easier if he wants to do follow-up scans and blood tests as with "wrong" dates confusion can be caused and he might think things are not going as they should when in reality it is just because you took them later than he thinks you have.
He wants to do the trigger shot so I know he will be looking at the growth. He also pushed the other meds. I want to make sure he has me stay on clomid. I'm going somewhere else so ill see what they say this week and the days. I'll be honest see what happens.
I agree with GeCon.
Be as honest as possible with the other place like you suggested and see what happens.
I personally wouldn't take Clomid unless you need it for some reason, because i've found the side effects to be quite confronting, but I do understand wanting it for swaying and know where you are coming from.
Let us know how you get on with the other doctor. Well done for planning ahead a few cycles so you don't feel rushed.
While you are wanting to 'be honest' with the other doctor, I found, and atomic recommends not to mention swaying as they tend to do one of two things in reaction to it:
1. knee jerk reaction, you asked for clomid so they go on a power trip and refuse to give it because 'they' are the doctor not you (sigh)
2. blame all your fertility issues on swaying and make you 'keep trying' without swaying for x amount of time.
So be as honest as you can about your cycle, but don't push too hard for clomid specifically or if you do, use other research to back up 'why' you want it (such as you've been trying for over a year OR you have a short luteal OR you don't ovulate etc etc).
