I think it could be a girl - not sure that angle is 30 degrees. My understanding is that the studies classify angles < 10 degrees as girls, and > 30 degrees as boys. Anything in between is not classified at this stage :) fingers crossed for you.

You're not insane! My husband was sure this bub was a girl from the word "I'm pregnant" and I was the one not convinced! He was right, though. Why don't they give you actual photos? And just negatives? I've never heard of that!
I say it can go either way.

In the actual hard copy (a big X-ray sheet...) I can see the spine starting to curl at the bottom -- can anyone tell from the pic I posted? I know I'm grasping at straws, but I don't for one second believe this is a boy. I tried to convince myself it is, for my mental health.. ;) but it hasn't worked, and this nub hasn't changed that gut feeling I have about this being a girl. I'm crazy for sure I think.. ;) hehe.

Some times moms know best, look at Violet she was sure hers was a girl and she was right, even with the best nub its never 100%. I am sure mine is a boy, have been from the word go, was sure ds3 was a boy to as soon as i pee'd on the ovulation stick i knew i was pregnant and he was a boy (he was a cut off). I let others convince me otherwise but i should have stuck to my guns!

I was sure nr. 2 was a girl. Well......my mother instinct played tricks on me because he was all boy! After that one I never trusted my feelings with gender again.
I'm sure I'm probably headed for a fall..
I'm rubbish with nub guesses but really hope this is your little girl.
Try and be prepared just in case though, I was totally convinced I was having a girl this time. I'm even struggling to believe it isn't now and have hardly bought any new boys clothes (even though I could really do with a fair amount of stuff). I have another scan coming up where I'm hoping I can just accept it and get over my gd so I can enjoy my last pregnancy.

I had a CVS test done so similar to an amnio but its not always right, they told me it is wrong for 2 out of every 100 moms as they can get the moms dna not the babes (so false result) so although they told me the gender as i asked its not guaranteed and i'm sure this babe is a boy (no idea why pregnancy is completely different but have just been sure from the beginning so never really believed its a girl, and the boys and everyone just refer to babe as a him to)Quote:

I am looking at the slight angle of the nub as being in line with the curl up of the spine, so I can write off the nub.. This is a dangerous game, but I can't help but play it. I know the risks, and I have tried hard not to allow myself to indulge in the thought that this is a girl. ....... I would honestly be SHOCKED to the core if this is a boy. I've never felt like this in all my pregnancies. Even though all I have ever wanted was a girl. Ahhh well. We'll see. :) I do believe that there's a difference between feeling something deeply and convincing yourself of something.

I think if there is even a bit of a curl we aren't seeing, then the lines would be parallel.
Why not assume girl? if it is a boy, you will never get these few weeks back.
Very good point... Hehe. Might as well revel in it while I can so that at least I know what it feels like to think I have a girl.. ;)
A friend put this pic on IG an it's got 100% boy guesses so far........ :( this is not looking good.
My husband thinks its a girl because of the curled spine and the nub not 30 degrees. :fingers:
Hunny, everything about my last pregnancy was different. It was the worst ever! Everything, the old wives tales, psychics, gender charts everything pointed to girl except a couple of my nub pics and the old wives tale about the line under my eye, they were the only two things that were right. Now fast forward and as you know, i have my special little man and couldnt be happier. So all the symptoms, oldwives tales etc i now do not believe! They are rubbish lol.
Whatever baby is, i know you will be over the moon and i cant wait to be able to get clucky over your photos!

My dd had a very similar looking nub. It was not completely flat and had a forked end. I think you still have hope for a girl. :)

It does look a bit boy but I'm no expert and as others, and you have said there is a curve in the end of the spine which if lined up would def be girl. I don't know how much curve is needed to impact the nub. Really really hope there is a little girl in there! But if not maybe you'll go for number four and be forever grateful you got an extra little person to love!
