I think at least some of that is diet. The low blood sugar can make you feel kinda jittery, I think it's nature's way of giving you a big burst of energy to go out and seek some food LOL.

I like matzo as a bread replacement too - I tried it for the first time the other week and I'm hooked on it. It tastes gross by itself but it's a nice bread substitute with hummus, jam, Greek yogurt, or melted cheese on it. Matzo + swiss with low sodium mayo and iceberg lettuce is really good.
Yes it does! What do you mean by Swiss? Swiss cheese, like Edam?
Hi jude17, I hope you get this, I have just seen you wanted the bread recipe, it's so easy to miss posts on this site. Ok here goes,
500 g strong bread flour, 1 yeast sachet, 1 teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of salt ( I also add a little sesame seeds?) mix and add half a pint of warm to touch water. I use my blender to kneed the dough but you can do it by hand, for at least 10 mins!! Leave to rise for 2 hours in the bread tin. Cook for 30-35 mins on 200, the bread should sound hollow when tapped. Good luck, hope this helps!
Yes, Swiss cheese. It's the lowest sodium of the regular cheeses and has a strong flavor so a little goes a long way, even though it has a ghastly amount of fat in it. I don't think Edam is "Swiss" (even though it may be made in Switzerland LOL), I mean that cheese that has the holes in it if you know what I"m talking about.
I've recently discovered that bocconcini cheese, which I've always loved in salads, has absolutely no sodium in it. Would it be ok to eat some with balsamic vinegar (which also says 0 sodium) drizzled on top? It's a little high in protein, but if I only have a little I can still keep within my limit.
Is that like mozzarella? Where do you get it from? Thanks
It's a fresh cheese, and yes, it's a lot like mozzarella. It comes in a plastic container, and is in the form of small balls stored in liquid. I've always loved the texture of fresh cheese. I'm addicted to curd cheese, but it's high in salt so I have to only have a few pieces of that every week. This is a way I can indulge myself with cheese with that stretchy texture but without the salt. I highly recommend balsamic vinegar on it.
Thank you, I'll definately try it for a change!
I forgot to mention - you'll usually find it near the ricotta in the grocery store. I hope you enjoy it! It's bland, I'll warn you - but I love the texture!
I'll try anything at this point, this diet is so bland! I love lemon and vinegar and although I know we can use then I'm trying not to overdo it as I've always added loads of these things to my diet
Yes, I do feel that same way to! Like AS said, its the low blood sugar and the heavy cardio workouts. I plan on trying this month acutally. I'm really tired of this darn diet. I'm sick of feeling weak and tired all the time. Plus I don't want to have to plan out my meals anymore, it's a lot of work. :hair:
I just thought i would join you girls on this thread.. Pretty much my diet is nothing to eat until about 2pm i find i get past being hungry by then , I do have my cal, mag and cranberry sup with water at about 10 am tho. At 2 pm i have 2 glasses of milk with equal then i have 2 vit C tablets then at about 4 i have another glass of milk and some dried cranberries. 5pm more milk then pasta or rice for tea. I am SUFFERING! there will be nothing left of me but i am wanting to stick to it and if it doesnt work at least i can say i gave it all i have and i would never try again. I also take Vitex af to o afetr my milk in the arvo plus i take saw palmetto after my tea at night also af to o. Does anyone think i should be eating more? and if so what should i eat? i have cream and egg white cooked with my pasta and a little bit of parm cheese but it all gets very boring but afraid to try something different. especially when alot of foods i hear about people eating we cant get in Australia. Oh i brought Crystal Light i drink about 6 of them a day.
Thanks for those words of encouragement i need to hear things like that as i am struggling do you think it would be ok to eat tomato based sause on my pasta if it does nothing to my ph..? or just stay away from it?
Wow, I agree, I am eating way more than that and struggling!
There's a low-everything diet on here which I'm following - it's low calorie/fat/protein/sodium/nutrient. Tomatoes (and potatoes!) are allowed and I'm planning on making a batch of homemade tomato sauce with leeks and tinned tomatoes (which I find vary alot in their sodium levels) and then adding a few other vegetables when I heat it up for variety - mushrooms, green beans, courgettes etc. I quite like just unsalted butter with a bit of parmesan on my pasta though! I'm also finding that I'm not eating much dairy at all because there's so much protein in it. We're aiming for only 40g a day and my meals are based on carbs (white bread for lunch, pasta for dinner) and I get most of my allowance from them. I tend to have a little bit of skimmed milk with my morning coffee and a fat free artificially sweetened yogurt with lunch as well as some low salt (rubbery!) cheese in my sandwich and that's it. Are you drinking skimmed milk? We should drink skimmed for a girl, whole milk for a boy (because whole milk has been proven to increase fertility and skimmed milk to decrease it - and anything which decreases fertility tends to sway girl). I highly recommend you read the thread Atomic posted in the Dream member section on this diet if you can because it's so informative.
Good luck - when are you planning to make your attempt? I'm hoping for July, I just want to get pregnant as quickly as possible so I can go back to eating my yummy (boy!) diet!!
Hi is there a link to the low everything diet?
hey zanacal we are going to ttc in july aswell! bit nervous about it. The reason why i dont eat through the day is because once i have had something even if it was a grape then thats it i would be starving so i hold out as long as i can. I am usually hungry in the morning but that does pass. My usual diet is ALL boy friendly i never skip breakfast eat too much salt i eat what ever i want pretty much! So this has and is going to be very very hard for me. That home made tomato sauce sounds good i will have to look at the everything diet too.
Hi pinkin! I agree - you're doing awesome with the diet. I don't know how you get through the whole day with nothing but milk. I don't eat a lot more than that during the day (usually no breakfast, yogurt and maybe some plain rice for lunch), but I am terrible by dinner time. I follow the diet but each way too much food at dinner, then find myself snacking all evening (on girl-friendly stuff like strawberries, but still...).
Mochagirl, thanks i just find it easier this way not complicated at all but tea time is hard for me trying to work out what i can have as its the only meal i have for the day and eating plain pasta is not going down the best. thats why i am thinking of trying to make that home made pasta sauce..... How long have you been on the diet for? And when do you think you will ttc?
I haven't tried any pasta sauces yet, but tonight I had pasta mixed with 1 TBSP of low fat ricotta and 2 TBSP of parm, and it was ok. Next time I might also try a squirt of lemon juice to give it more kick.
The end of day is definitely the hardest to get through - I agree that if you've starved yourself all day you need something to look forward to - I know I do! By 5pm I'm STARVED and want a substantial meal.
I've been on the diet about 3 weeks or so now, but with some cheating here and there when we've had company. I'm due to O around June 20th, and I'm praying hard that first time's the charm because there's NO way I can keep this diet up all summer.
I know what you mean i will have been on the diet for 7 weeks when we try and i pray soooooo hard that i get a bfp that month! I am also worried about the social side of things to going to be hard these next few weeks. so you have cheated a few times??? My mother in law knows what i am like i cant go with out breakfast and i can eat alot so she laughs at me and says you wont last 7 weeks it really does not help me at all so that gets me down a bit i just want to prove them wrong! ha ha.
I had one dinner out which was a bridal shower for a friend. I tried not to pick the worst thing on the menu (the burger and fries, which were calling my name), and instead ended up with a thin crust pizza with pesto and boconccini cheese. I did get a chocolate gelato, though, which was soooooo good.
My mother visited for a few days last week, and we ended up ordering pizza one night. I only ate two small pieces, but I'm sure it was about 10 times my allowance of sodium for the day. I've also had a few things here and there I shouldn't have - I had ice cream one afternoon when my kids were having cones and I couldn't resist, I have the occasional pesto pasta, even though it's full of garlic (though I only eat it if I've had pretty much no sodium the rest of the day). In about a week and a half my in-laws are coming to stay with us. There's no way I can tell them about the diet, so I'm going to have to be very sneaky to try to keep to it. I'm going to make side dishes I can eat and try to not take any of the main dishes (either that or take some and push it around my plate). It's going to be veeery hard!
this sunday i have to go have lunch with family my cousin is going over seas and i couldnt get out of it so i will just have a small amout of whatever it is for lunch.. you cant help have a few set backs i guess as long as you are sticking to it good for most of the time. what sups are you taking?
Just Cal/Mag, Folic and cranberry. I know cranberry's not the best choice, but I can't take baby aspirin because I'm BFing. I'll take Benedryl as well in the week of O.
Oh really i am taking cranberry too....is baby asprin better?????? I am going to take zyrtec and benedryl around o... should we take them every day around o?
It depends which diet you're following. For the "Low Everything" diet from this site, it may be a bit high in nutrients. It's still the norm to take it for the IG diet, though.
As for the antihistamines - there's a sticky around here somewhere about it. I need to study up myself so I know what to do come O time.
Hi girls, I think you have to take the Antihistamines every day you have ewcm and then stop when you have o, basically fertile days
Oh thanks for that swish . How many a day should we take though?
I think it varies depending how many ewcm days you have, for me, I'll probably tale it fir 5 days running up to o as this is what I had before all the supps etc
With the baby asprin what would that be called in australia i went into the chemist but could not see any....??
Do you have aspirin at all? You just have to make sure it's the right dosage - here in the UK it's 72mg I think and 81mg in the US so something around there. This is the dosage you take if you're taking one each day for preventative purposes, as a painkiller you'd take a higher dosage.
Pinkin2011, let me know if you can't find it and I'll send you some, don't pay ridiculous postage on net as I've done that several times and it's a nightmare!!! The chemist worries me a bit when I bought some, she asked me what it was for and I had to lie, she said I should consult the doctor before taking it!!!
Thank you very much Swish... I have heard now that cartia or something like that is what i can get over here. it is 100mg but i can break some off it to be around the 81mg. They say to take cranberry for swaying a girl and the asprin can help prevent m/c.. is that right??
Here in Canada, it's not called Baby Aspirin, but "Daily Low Dose Aspirin". I confirmed that it has 81mg, so I'm assuming it's the same thing. I'm surprised they still call it Baby Aspirin anywhere since we're never supposed to give it to children.
I think aspirin can help prevent ms but is also an alternative to cranberry to lower ph as cranberry has nutrients you may choose not to have when swaying
It doesn't actually say baby aspirin on the packet :D
Phew! Glad to hear it, zana! I could just see that causing confusion for parents. I know when I was a kid I really did have 'Baby Aspirin' all the time, but that was before we knew much about Reye Syndrome.
