zana - you've been so good for so long, a cheat night - no matter how bad - isn't going to hurt anything. I hope you had a fun night!
Thanks mocha. It was good to get out without the children but I'm so tired today as I didn't get home until midnight and I'm usually in bed long before that!
My food for today:
Lunch: ww wrap with feta, cherry tomatoes and balsamic. Bakewell tart.
Dinner: 2 portions spaghetti with roasted vegetables (courgette, green beans and pepper with a smidge of garlic powder), parmesan and half-fat creme fraiche. 2 Fox's Glacier Fruits.
I'm loving the half-fat creme fraiche with parmesan on my pasta. I think creme fraiche is also known as sour cream?
I just looked it up, and apparently creme fraiche is a bit different than sour cream - less sour and more flavourful. Apparently it's common in Europe and harder to find here in North America. I wondered when you mentioned it, because I can't see sour cream being all that yummy on pasta...but now you really have me curious about creme fraiche! I'll have to start watching for it in specialty stores!
I just got back from a dinner out with the girls. I knew we'd be eating out, so I tried to keep my sodium to a minimum for the rest of the day.
6am: coffee
12pm: plain rice, 2 peaches, canteloupe
4pm: a peach, some yellow plums, a couple of the brussels sprouts I made for the kids, 2 sugar free cookies
8:30pm: tortilla wrap with roasted potato, roasted vegetables, spinach, feta and garlic, Greek salad, strawberry sorbet for dessert
I have no idea what my totals were for the day, but before supper I was only at about 75mg of sodium and 10g of protein, so I might have been ok. It was a vegetarian restaurant, and the food was all pretty healthy. The wrap wasn't all that great, so I'm glad that other than the garlic it wasn't a big cheat for the diet.
What a shame it wasn't that great, it sounds it! Well done for being a good girl :D
I was leaning towards the bean burrito, but my friends swore the potato wrap was the best thing on the menu. I found it kind of dry, with pretty much no sauce in it (which was probably a good thing, since I'm sure the sauce was swimming in sodium). Oh well, at least I don't really have to feel guilty about my dinner out.
Food for today:
Lunch: WW wrap with extra light laughing cow cheese triangle, Bakewell tart, Cheese & Onion Hoola Hoops
Dinner: Vegetable burger with a little salad and mayonnaise in 2 mini pitta breads. Lemon yogurt.
It's so quiet around here without swish!
I was proud of myself today because we went to a big group picnic, and I avoided all the food and snacks there - I ate lunch before we went and all I had was a Diet Coke.
7am: coffee
11:30am: rice with 2 tbsp of low sodium primavera sauce and 1/2 tbsp of low sodium parmesan, peach, 2 low sodium Ritz crackers (these things only have 70mg per 6 crackers yet they feel like a treat), 2 sugar free cookies
5pm: rice pasta with butternut squash puree and parmesan, kids sized rainbow sherbet ice cream cone, 2 sugar free cookies, peach
snack (I haven't eaten this yet, but based on my intake for the day, this is what I think I'll have): raspberries and blueberries, low fat salt & vinegar Pop Chips
I'm amazed how low my sodium is today. Even after I eat that small bag of chips, I'll only be at 562mg. I guess maybe I was too careful today.
What I find bizarre is that only a few weeks ago I was having a terrible time eating ENOUGH calories. Now I have trouble keeping to 1500. I think I'm developing a sweet tooth from all the sweets I'm eating on this diet, and the calories from those are really starting to add up. Today I have tons of room left for both protein and sodium, but I'm maxed out on calories, so there's not a lot I can eat. Maybe it's time to revisit those Miracle noodles with almost no calories....
Calories: 1590
Protein: 34.9g
Sodium: 562mg
It seems to be just you and me doesn't it mocha?! Feel free to join in anybody else reading this!!
Here's my food today:
Lunch: Dairylea Dunkers (breadsticks you dip in soft cheese - for kids!), strawberry yogurt, packet Starburst.
Dinner: Same as yesterday - vegetable buger in 2 mini pittas with a little salad and mayo. WW ice cream.
So tired today, I could eat it all again! Weigh in tomorrow and I hope to have lost at least 1lb this week. I seem to have one week of a good loss and the next week less of a loss and I also had that meal out this week.
7am: coffee
12pm: salad with sweet potatoes, baby spinach, goat cheese and balsamic vinegar, 1 small cob of corn, peach
5pm: salt-free vegetarian Mexican lasagna, homemade low sodium peach raspberry crumble with a bit of low fat ice cream
8:30pm: apple, peach, 12 Pringles chips, 3 small strawberry wafer cookies, Mike & Ike candies
I've gotten into the bad habit of checking my daily totals before snack time, then cramming in as much food as I can while keeping to 1500 calories, 40g of protein and 100mg of sodium. I'm a little concerned that I keep eating to the maximum allowable amounts, but I just look forward to my evening snack/3rd meal all day!

I can't speak for Zanacal, but I occasionally eat store-bought veggie burgers on this diet. I just read all the labels and choose the one with the least sodium (I can usually find something in the 250-300mg range), put it on the lowest sodium bun I can find, use a slice of tomato instead of ketchup, and a bit of mustard. As long as I've been very careful with sodium the rest of the day, I can eat this without going over the 1000mg limit. It's a good solution for when I'm going to a BBQ.
Hi rainbow. It's shop bought I'm afraid! This particular one was from Waitrose and has 229 cals / 5.3g protein / 170mg sodium. It's the type with mushed up vegetables in the middle and breadcrumbs on the outside. Tesco do something similar which I've bought in the past. I had another one today because they're so yummy - that's 3 days in a row and I'll probably have the last one in the box tomorrow :D
I lost 1.5lb this week, 31lb in total in 10 weeks on the diet :D
My food for today:
Lunch: Sandwich with ww bread, dairylea light cheese slice and cucumber. Bakewell tart. Strawberry yogurt.
Dinner: Vegetable burger in ww wrap with salad and mayo. ww ice-cream sundae. Tutti fruttis.
Weight Watchers did well out of me today!!
Congratulations on the weight loss, zanacal - you're doing awesome!
zanacal - it seems like you're eating so little! Have you cut out snacks entirely, now?
Here's my day:
7am: coffee
12pm: rice with plain yogurt, 1 sugar free cookie, peach
5pm: ricotta & spinach cannelloni, canteloupe, apple, 2 sugar free cookies
8:30pm: low fat ice cream with fresh raspberries, 8 salt & vinegar Pringles, Mike & Ike candies
Calories: 1440
Protein: 42g (but about 4g of this was from fruit)
Sodium: 920mg
I've been experimenting with not having my evening snack because alot of the time I'm not even hungry. I'm not saying I'll never do it but I also want to really hit the weight loss hard the next couple of weeks leading up to our attempt month, *gulp*!!
Today:
Lunch: 2 slices ww bread with cheese slice & cucumber, Strawberry and yogurt cereal bar, strawberry yogurt.
Dinner: Pasta with mushrooms & leeks, half fat creme fraiche and parmesan
Snack: Packet Starburst!
Good for you! I must admit, I more often snack in the evening out of habit rather than hunger (but that's why we're boy moms, right?)...it's just that I find it easier to starve myself all day if I know I can have some treats at night while I watch TV or read. Those treats have changed, though, from a simple bowl of strawberries to a variety of bad things, including ice cream, candy and chips. I think in the least I should cut back the snack to one thing instead of eating until I hit my calorie/protein/sodium max for the day. Maybe I'll try to do that - at least until my next attempt, which is only a week away at this point!
I'm so excited for you that your attempt is getting closer! I'm going to be stalking you big time during your 2WW!
Next Wednesday or Thursday, depending on whether my body decides that late night af arrival is CD1. I'm going to try to stick to the diet well for the next week, but I'm definitely cheating during my next 2WW (I'll still try to keep blood sugar low, which seems to be the important thing during the 2WW, but I'm going to eat garlic and chocolate and not worry as much about protein for those 2 weeks)...I've been on this diet long enough and need a bit of a break if I might end up having to do it another month!
Agreed!
This diet is not helping my body to, ahem, function very easily. What used to take a couple of minutes now takes a couple of hours and my boys can get up to alot of mischief in that time! I'm wondering about taking something to help things along but I'm not sure what's ok!
I'm lucky - I haven't really had that problem. I think it's all the fruit I eat. I know I probably eat more than I should on this diet, but I couldn't do it without fruit!
Ok, well...I pretty much did everything I said I wouldn't today. When I finished my dinner, my calories and sodium were just so low (I was at under 1000 calories and 300mg of sodium) I couldn't stop dreaming about the snacks I could have....
7am: coffee
10am: decaf coffee (better than the cappuccino I usually have when I get together with my friend)
1pm: rice with 1 tbsp yogurt and balsamic vinegar, low fat frozen yogurt bar
5:30pm: rice pasta with 1 tsp homemade pesto and parmesan, 1 piece of bocconcini from ds's salad, Pop Tart
9pm: canteloupe, low fat Pop Chips, Mike & Ike candies
So...not only did I have a bevy of snacks in the evening, but I had garlic for supper. It was soooooooo good, though. That pesto I made had no salt in it, and almost no protein (I left out the pine nuts). Really, the only bad thing in it is garlic, but there's only one garlic clove in the whole recipe. My recipe made about 300g of pesto, and I used 15g tonight...so that's about 1/20th of one clove of garlic. Is that really so bad, do you think? Surely the store-bought tomato pasta sauce I buy has more than that. It just made my supper so much yummier and satisfying, and I could be so much happier on this diet if I could eat it....
Calories: 1508
Protein: 35.9g
Sodium: 777mg
I hardly think 1/20th of a clove of garlic will stop you having a girl - I think it's absolutely fine! I think your daily totals are fine too given that you don't want to lose weight - and even if you did!!
yesterday I was pretty good:
No breakast of course
Lunch: 2 slices of low sodium bread with a pat of unsalted butter, strawberries with tons of equal
Dinner: 2 servings of calcium pasta, with lil bit of parm and ms. dash, strawberries with tons of equal
Snack: 15 skittles, 3 cups of ait popped popcorn, raspberries with equal
Cals: 1012
Fat: 14.8
Protien: 28
Sodium: 213
I drink tons of cl or diet caff free pop throughout the day
Sounds brilliant Tiffany - glad to see you here :D
Today I had:
Lunch: 2 ww bread, low fat cheese slice, little mayo. Lemon yogurt. Strawberries and meringue with sweetener.
Dinner: Vegetable burger with half fat mozzarella in a wrap. 2 custard creams. 2 boiled sweets.
Snack: I'm going to have a cup of tea with sweetener and 2 Rich Tea biscuits!
I wish I hadn't bothered with the mozzarella on my burger as I couldn't even taste it! I'm taking my biggest 2 boys to the cinema and McDonalds tomorrow as a treat so I'm trying to figure out what I'll eat.
I'm at my mother's house now, and eating stuff I don't have all the nutritional info for, so I'm not going to bother doing my totals this weekend.
7am: coffee
12pm: rice with 1 tbsp plain yogurt, 1 cob of corn
6pm: orzo pasta with butter and romano cheese, steamed broccoli, sherbet, 2 digestive biscuits
I'm going to try to keep from eating too much snacky stuff tonight, though I feel hungry already and it's only 7pm, so it may be a looong night. Tomorrow I'm going out for supper with dh, but I'm going to try to choose somewhere I can get pasta or thin crust pizza. Another night I think my mom's ordering in regular pizza - I'll try my best to eat almost no protein or sodium that day so I can have a piece or two.
zanacal - if I were planning a trip to McDonald's, I'd probably get fries and an ice cream sundae or something like that. I don't think they have many veggie choices other than salads, and they're usually quite high in sodium if you use their dressings. But I love their fries so much, it would be a treat even if that's all I had! Have fun!
Ok so yesterday my day was ok, I had one little cheat (boss took me so I had to!) but everything stayed within limits for me
am: Nothing
Lunch: 2 slices low sodium bread with pat of unsalted butter, strawberries with equal
snack: cheat...4 ozs of low fat no sugar added yogurt with a few reeses pieces on top, just a few
Dinner: 2 servings of calium pasta with lil parm, strawberries with equal
snack: 3 cups of air popped popcorn
Should only have had one snack but I was hungry! LOL
Calories: 1020
Fat: 19.6
Protien: 29.6
Sodium: 297.8
Another great day Tiffany! Glad you're doing well at your mum's mocha. I might have to have a pizza of some sort soon!
Today I had:
Cinema: Packet 'light' toffee popcorn, packet Starburst.
McDonalds: Hot Apple Pie!
Dinner: Spaghetti with kids tomato pasta sauce. Raspberry and white chocolate doughnut!
I really did eat alot of crap today! I've started having a cup of tea on alot of days as well as the 2 cups of coffee I have in the morning. I still have 2 sweeteners in it but it stops my tummy from rumbling all evening.
I forgot to report in last night after I got home from supper. I didn't do totals yesterday because it was a bit of a cheat day.
Breakfast: coffee
12pm: 1/2 low sodium bagel with a tiny bit of peanut butter, peach, green grapes, 5 small lemon spelt cookies
4:30pm: corn on the cob, green grapes
8pm: thin crust, wood-oven pizza in a restaurant. I chose mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. There was really hardly any cheese on it, so I think it was probably ok for protein, though sodium was probably high (though since I had about 900mg of sodium to play with, I might still be fine). Then I had tiramisu for dessert, which probably put my protein way too high, but I don't care - it tasted GLORIOUS!!!
YAY for glorious tasting food! I bet in a few weeks you'll be able to eat as much glorious tasting food as you want to Mama! What's the count down to attempt day?
I think I'm due to O on Wednesday or Thursday, but cervix is SHOW and I have ewcm + my OPKs are getting darker, so I'm wondering if it will come earlier. DH and I haven't started to dtd yet (though he's been releasing every day for about a week) because it's tricky here at my Mom's house, though we may sneak off and do it tonight just in case I O early. We go home tomorrow, so we'll definitely be dtd daily from then on. I plan to dtd right through O this month to maximise our chances.
Glad you enjoyed it mocha :D I seem to have lost my love of food a little for the time being. I really look forward to something then when I start eating it I find I can't savour it and I get a bit bored with eating it, very odd!
Today:
Lunch: Ate out at Costa and had a Mozzarella & Tomato Panini, Roasted Vegetable Crisps & Coffee with Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup.
Dinner: Cheese & Onion Hoola Hoops, Mr Kipling Angel Cake slice, Lemon Yogurt.
I've also had a few boiled sweets. My 5 year old told me off for having an unhealthy dinner today - I tried to eat discreetly but he tends to follow me!
Yesterdays totals for me
Breakfast: None
Lunch: 2 slice low sodium bread and pat of unsalted butter, strawberries and equal
Snack: was bad..I had 3 mini herseys chocolate bars and 20 skittles
Dinner: 2 servings of calcium pasta with lil parm, raspberries and equal
Snack: 2 cups air popped popcorn
Calories: 1097
Fat: 22 (oops)
Protien: 29.6
Sodium: 233
I haven't had a good day. My mom's house is FULL of snack food, and it's soooo hard to resist it.
7am: coffee
12pm: 2 cobs of corn (no salt or butter, I should point out - I never use either even when not on this diet), 1 serving curd cheese, a brownie for dessert (my mom had just finished baking them, and I wasn't a strong enough woman to resist a warm, chocolately brownie after 3.5 months with no chocolate)
4:30pm: peach, more curd cheese, watermelon
6:30pm: low sodium bun with a small bit of mayo and 2 slices of Swiss cheese + a slice of tomato (everyone else was having burgers, but I said I wasn't feeling well so had the cheese sandwich instead), 2 more cobs of corn, salad with a bit of oil and vinegar dressing, 2 digestive biscuits, wine
I'm sure I won't be able to avoid snacking as the night continues, but I'll try my best. I'm fairly sure I'm high on protein and sodium already, so maybe I'll just have a bit of candy if I have anything at all. We're going back home tomorrow, so I'm going to try my best to get back into my routine and diet before I O this week. I found some creme fraiche and am looking forward to trying that on my pasta tomorrow night for something different.
Emmy I don't know how you can cope with so few calories!! you must have such strong willpower!
Mocha - those brownies sound heavenly - brownies are my weakness atm. Going to miss them...
Happy Sunday ladies :D
My food for today:
Lunch (picnic!): Scone with low fat spread and sugar free jam. Strawberries. WW cheesy tortilla chips.
Dinner: Quorn meatballs and spaghetti in tomato sauce. Toffee apple crumble with 'light' squirty cream.
The dinner was a real cheat without really being a cheat at all! I may eat a sherbert dib dab later ... now that really is empty calories. Suddenly I'm eating like a teenager!
Unfortunately I am small girl so I really have to limit myself to lose weight! Plus I was not so great my last TWW so I am being hard on myself now!
