Yeah unfortunately it happens all the time. And I now believe that explains many of the so-called observations in hte French Gender Diet book where he claimed "many more boys are conceived in Asia because they don't drink milk and eat a lot of salt" because they used to do infanticide at birth and stil do in many countries. I have read recently that the most dangerous day of a child's life is the day that they're born.
Makes my stomach churn. And here all I want is a daughter.

if its 50/50 then surely theres no point in swaying and it shows that swaying doesnt work? I'm confused
It's 50/50 without any swaying. That's why swaying is called swaying, we use it to sway the odds more in our favor. So maybe we start out at 50/50 but by making the changes in a boy/girl friendly way we can sway more in favour of our DG.
YOUR CHANCES are not 50-50, the amount of boys and girls conceived across the whole population end up to be about half boys and half girls. That says nothing for one person's chances, one person may have 80-20 odds, another may have 60-40, another may have 30-70. But for reasons we don't know, across the whole human population of every country every where averages out to be about 50-50, with slighlty more males born.Quote:

Just to clarify, the 50-50 ratio is across the whole human population. It doesn't mean that each individual person has an equal chance of a boy or a girl every time they TTC. Some of us may be heavily set for one or the other but overall the average ends up being about 50-50. That does not mean every person has half boys and half girls. There are those of us with 4 boys and a girl and those with 4 girls and a boy, and the average is 50-50. .Quote:

my main concern is that im heavily meant to have girls (2 already) and swaying for girl may have messed up my hormaonal balance or whatever and actually swayed boy. So scared.... i want a surprise but ill be miserable throughout until i know its a girl... and what if its not... is it possible to get GD at the birth?? So i have a chouce of: dont find out until birth and hope i bond no matter what but it means ill have a miserable pregnancy or find out and if its a boy, have a sad pregnancy and if its a girl have a worry free happy pregnancy. Im just so scared if i have a boy he will inherit a common family illness that runs in the boys.

No because its a mental illness so cant be detected before birth I dont think. But aall the men have it so I know the chances are my boy will too. But in the uk gender selection is illegal as far as im aware. So we have to rely on swaying. I was happy to stick at 2 but hubby really wanted another and I would feel bad to deny him of the big family he wanted.
I get that. I got my first baby, a girl, without swaying. She passed away from a malformation that mostly hits girls, 9 out of 10 babies affected with this are girls. That's fear number one for me. My oldest son has autism, my second son is very much like his brother. Everyone told me with my eldest he is fine and that I was worrying too much. Now look here, I was right. With my second son the exact same things are said to me, everyone is in denial again and I'm seeing it clear as day I could scream! My oldest son was also born with a medical issue that only affects boys. Autism also mostly affects boys. Either way, wether I get a boy or a girl, I'm scared to death. But what can I do? The heart wants what the heart wants. All we can do is try our best and hope for a healthy baby. I just close my eyes and jump. You will love your baby no matter what, whether your baby is healthy or not. My life is full of worries and it's hard work caring for my sensitive boys. But it's rewarding, I wouldn't change them for the world. If you have a son, you will find you will still be the proudest mom in the world!Quote:

I've considered it, but it scared me because I struggle with health issues myself and don't know how my body will respond to all the meds. I'm sure my OB would strongly advice against it. Well, 2 girls does not mean you're heavily meant to do anything. There are people with 6-8 girls! :) Tons of people have 2 girls and then a boy just naturally without doing anything seemingly differently.Quote:

Honestly, I am not sure I'd TTC naturally if it is that much of a sure thing - I'm not saying you shouldn't, just that if you're this fearful about the possibility and have 2 girls already, I'm not sure I'd proceed if it was me. (not that you should or shouldn't do anything, just saying what I would wonder in your situation)
