swish - I find the same thing after a cheating binge - today I thought I was going to die of hunger all morning, while normally I'm fine with waiting until lunch time to eat. I think my stomach's getting stretched out from all the food I'm eating and is starting to expect more! You should have seen how bloated I was after eating that huge meal yesterday - my belly almost looked pregnant!
Oh, and I'm so sorry you're feeling down - I feel exactly the same way, though at least I've gotten 3 attempts in. I just want all this nonsense to be DONE - I'm sick of dieting, sick of frequent BD, , sick of lying to people I love, sick of living my life in 2 week increments then dealing with disappointment every month.
-
Couldn't have put it better myself..
No breakfast
11 biscuit
12 quiche, tiny bit of pasta, strawberries, meringue, frozen yogurt
5 artichokes and tomato antipasti bits
Dinner pasta with courgette, wine, lemon, Parmesan. 2 meringues, 5 chocolates
-
I feel sad to hear you both sounding down. I really hope you get pregnant and move on quickly too (though you have to stay here so we can keep in touch!). {hugs}
I'm really way too early to be thinking about this, but I'm wondering whether I should start taking HPTs early (knowing they'll likely be negative and if not worrying that it might be negative again by the time AF is due!) or wait until AF is due. I know that waiting is probably the sensitive thing to do - but do you think it's important to start eating more healthily as soon as possible when we do get pregnant? I know that many mums don't find out for weeks so just carry on as before and also that the baby is kind of self-contained for the first few weeks and doesn't rely on the mum for nutrition, but because we're so lacking in nutrition I wonder whether it's important to start looking after ourselves sooner rather than later. Any thoughts?
-
I was of the opinion that 2/3 days would make no difference andi found testing depressing. BUT if I felt pregnant/had implantation bleeding I would test early
-
I'm actually doing fine on the LE diet but today I found myself craving healthier food - a nice tuna on granary sandwich, yum! I guess I'm just looking for a quicker way out :D
-
Yum granary bread, that would be lovely!! Although honestly I'd be happy if I could eat nothing nut meringues all day, it's an unhealthy obsession!!!
-
I always test early as you know, Z - I just can't resist it, and I don't let them get me depressed until about 10dpo. I like having something to look forward to every morning! You make a good point about the diet, too - if I'm pregnant I want to start taking my prenatal and eating properly ASAP!
-
I did a little better today - still high in sodium, but I think I kept protein under control.
7am: coffee
1pm: goat cheese and roasted red peppers on a small, low sodium bun, cinnabon bar (something my mom found in a grocery store - it was the size of a granola bar but cinnamon bun flavoured and you heat it in the microwave before eating it. The nutritional info was similar to a pop tart, but about half of the protein/calories/sodium because of the small size), Sour Patch Kids
6pm: veggie burger on low sodium bun with tomatoes and mustard, 3 cobs of corn, 1 small piece of falafel dipped in hummus, a few veggies & dip, lemon cake and raspberries for dessert, 1 small brownie
I'm still low on calories, but high on everything else, so I might have some candy as a snack later. I might also have a glass of wine :).
We go home tomorrow, so it's back to rice pasta....
-
That all sounds so good mocha! I decided to wait until next Tuesday (12dpo) to test - it's weigh in day so hopefully I'll get good news of one variety or another!
Check out my weight loss ticker :D :D :D 3.5lb off this week - 1lb to go to get to the 3 stone I wanted to lose!
-
That's awesome, Z - you should be really proud - I know how hard you worked for that!
I'm home now and eating rice and yogurt for lunch. Blah.
-
That is amazing, z, well done!!! Symptoms sound good too, fx!! X
-
A bit of a weird day today because I can't make up my mind whether I'm starving hungry or full up at any given time! This is what I ended up with today:
Lunch: (Costa after school with DS2!) Egg and mushroom roll, 2 mini raspberry and white chocolate muffins
Snack: Alpen strawberry and yogurt cereal bar
Dinner: KFC large french fries and 1/2 DS's chicken strip!
I was really naughty to steal DS's leftover chicken but OMG it was so good! It tasted really salty and really yummy and now I just want salt!! Luckily I put the rest in the bin before I could eat that too and it all worked out ok with my daily allowances :D
-
I don't blame you for eating that chicken! I don't know how you eat KFC with your kids so often without eating the chicken - the smell alone would make me dive into the bucket and not emerge until it's all gone. It's hard to eat real food again then go back to bland - I've been having a rough time since getting back home yesterday. I don't think I ever shared yesterday's food:
7am: coffee
12pm: rice with yogurt and lemon juice, 2 fruit creme cookies
5:30pm: THREE servings rice pasta (what can I say...I was hungry) with mushrooms and leeks sauteed in butter with a pinch of salt added, mixed with creme fraiche and parmesan
9pm: Chinese coconut bun, Sour Patch Kids, 3 low sodium baby dill pickles
The coconut bun was a HUGE indulgence, but I had tons of room in my budget for the day so I ate it. The pickles weren't really necessary, but I was craving salt and still only had 500mg of sodium after all that other food, so I went ahead and ate them.
-
Not sure if I did yesterday's but here's today..
No breakfast
Lunch pasta with green beans and balsamic, 2 meringues, go ahead bar
Snack biscuit
Dinner leek and mushroom risotto, 2 meringues and strawberries
I'm all about the meringues...
-
I think I need to buy some meringues - you're making me hungry!
-
Bugger I ate a slice of cake (only a small slice but still!)!!
-
Yum, I could eat more now, I'm in bed and my tummy's rumbling! I still can't get used to eating less again!
-
I'm gonna have to go to bed too. Are you cold? I've turned the heating on and have a blanket on my lap and I'm still freezing - winter's on its way!!
-
Haven't turned the heating on yet but I did wear my wi ter coat today!
-
I'm cold all the time these days - I think it's because I don't have any extra fat on me anymore. Are you guys finding you get chilled more quickly?
-
Yes - but I read once that being cold may be due to less testosterone and I've clung on to that hope!!
-
Really? That's nice to hear!
-
Here's today:
7am: coffee
12pm: took the kids out for lunch. I managed to have only a Diet Coke and 6 of ds3's fries, though the deep fried mozzarella sticks on the menu were calling my name.... When I got home I had rice with plain yogurt and lemon juice and 2 digestive biscuits and some Sour Patch Kids for dessert
5:30pm: leftover homemade vegetarian lasagna, a few carrot sticks dipped in hummus, orange sherbet, 2 digestive biscuits
9pm: green grapes, Mike & Ike candies
My sodium today was right at the limit, mostly due to those fries I had. I was fine for protein as long as I don't count the fruit and veggies (if I include everything I ate it came to 44g, but 8g of that was from fruit and veggies) . My calories were a little low at 1688, but I don't mind being a little low for a few days since O is imminent.
-
I am cold all the time but I have always been like that and now I know my testosterone is completely average!!
-
I used to always be cold until I had children and now I'm warmer blooded - or just get less opportunity to sit on my arse and do nothing!!
-
I'm having a tough time of the diet right now - my mum and sister are staying so it's REALLY hard to do the diet and avoid foods my mum keeps buying! They don't know I'm swaying.
I arrived home on Tues to find her with a roast chicken already in the oven - roast potatoes, the lot. At very least she used my low sodium salt and gravy... (it was the most delicious meal I've eaten in ages, I have to say, but still felt guilty)
Yesterday I made my family low sodium pitta bread+philadelphia for lunch, then we had homemade tomato soup for tea with basil, red pepper, and an onion (between the 4 of us).... so not completely pink friendly, but feasible!
Today she buys ham and rolls (for sandwiches) and salty kettle chips! I managed to dodge that one, unlike the roast meal. I had a microwavable frozen rice for lunch, and not had tea yet.
I'm eating a fair bit of milk chocolate at the moment too. I'm not convinced it sways blue given the number of sugar fiends who have DDs, and the sugar rush helps. I know cake is probably better for a sway than chocolate, but we don't have any at the moment.
-
That's tough, rainbow - I've had at least a few days like that every cycle - we're either visiting with family or have guests staying with us. You just have to do the best you can. I try to make meal suggestions and act on it before anyone else has a chance to start cooking something meaty. For example, I suggest we BBQ burgers and make sure to buy veggie burgers too. Or I offer to make a big pasta dinner for everyone and make sure it's girl-friendly, but make sausages or something on the side for everyone else. Good luck - a few days of cheating won't hurt your sway, so don't stress about it. I just had an entire week of cheating and I'm due to O any day now.
-
I completely agree with mocha, a few days won't spoil your sway, it's the overall picture that counts, don't stress!
-
Oh, and if you're going to be cheating anyway, make sure to enjoy it! I sure enjoyed my pizza and chicken fajitas on the weekend!
-
Today's food...
No breakfast
Lunch m and s rice caramel rice cake crisps, toast and jam
Snack mum's bread pudding (tiny bit!)
Dinner pasta with spinach, creme fraiche, wine, Parmesan, 2 meringues
My dad actually revealed today that he was pleased I had put on weight as he was starting to think I had an eating disorder, we've joked about this but for someone to actually say it is awful, it makes me think that must be what other people were thinking
-
Oh, I'm sorry you had to hear that, swish! I could imagine what was going through everyone's minds when I was with my family on the weekend (I kept catching them staring at me and watching me closely at mealtimes), but at least no one said it out loud!
-
Aww, we're glad you've put on weight too because we want you to get pregnant!!
Today I had:
No breakfast
Lunch: White roll filled with egg mayo (not good, I've had eggs 3 days in a row!), 2 caramel rice cakes, vanilla yogurt, 1 Fox's Glacier Fruit.
Dinner: Tesco light choices creamy pasta with peas and broccoli, mini battenburg cake, 2 caramel rice cakes.
Snack: Tutti Fruttis and a lollipop!
-
Z, you can get away with it in the 2ww and it's nice to have a bit of wriggle room!
-
Um, add to my list a slice of cake and a packet of Velvet Crunch. Oh deary, deary me! To be honest, the only aspect I'm really worried about at the moment is low blood sugar and I've no idea how long that is important - before implantation or until some later stage? I googled a bit and looked around on this site but didn't find much which made any sense to me! My calories were still only around 1500 for the day and my protein and sodium were ok too.
-
I always start eating more during the 2WW too. It's so hard not to when you keep thinking you could get that BFP and be done with the diet forever any minute. Of course, lately I've been eating like a pig constantly and I'm not even in the 2WW yet. I haven't gained any weight, though, and am keeping within the upper limits of the guidelines, so hopefully that's ok.
-
mocha, I keep thinking of you saying you test early to get the earliest BFP possible so you can celebrate with eating and to begin with I was all zen and thinking I'd wait until AF is due, then maybe 12dpo, now here I am testing every day and thinking how great it would be to get a BFP at the weekend so I could eat something amazing!! I'm thinking if I exhaust my supply of ICs I won't buy any more (though don't quote me on that!) so I'll do most of my obsessing this month!
-
Yep - I tend to test before every meal, imagining what I'll eat to celebrate. I've been following all your symptoms in the 2WW thread, and they all sound so promising! I have a strong feeling this is your month!
However, I want to you promise me that if you don't get your BFP you'll give yourself one amazing cheat night to eat whatever you want. You deserve it soooo much after all the hard work you've done!
-
Here's today:
7am: coffee
9:30am: Diet Pepsi
12pm: rice with yogurt and lemon juice, 2 digestive biscuits, more Diet Pepsi
4pm: Diet Pepsi
5:30pm: 3 low sodium strawberry-raspberry pancakes with maple syrup, a bit of cheddar cheese (I needed something salty after so much sweet), fruit creme cookies
9pm: Salt & Vinegar Pop Chips, Mike & Ike candies, caffeine free Diet Pepsi
I don't normally bother to record my Diet Pepsi drinking, but since I'm trying to drink more around O, I thought I'd include it. Four cans today, so hopefully that did some good, but it made me have to pee constantly. I'm wondering if that's why I didn't get a +OPK? I was well under for protein today, calories were pretty good, but sodium was 900mg - it would have been much lower if I hadn't decided to have those chips....
-
thanks for the reassurance! really, though, I'm so far away from TTC that I'm not too worried at this early stage!
-
Well I guess I should make sure I don't get out of the habit of posting here! I haven't counted anything today, just stuck to my usual mealtimes and girl friendly foods.
Breakfast: None
Lunch: Cheese & Onion Pasty! (We took the boys to a farm park and bought lunch from the on-site bakery - there was nothing less naughty. They all had cakes too!)
Dinner: Quorn ready-meal - Spaghetti with 'meat' balls. Slice of toast and butter.
Snack: Handful of Tutti Fruttis (mostly stolen by children!) and a ww chocolate wafer bar.
