Amazing August 2WW Thread

I feel so disillusioned. My DH said that he's sorry for giving me the wrong impression yesterday, but he doesn't want anymore children. He wishes he did, because he knows how badly I long for another child. Since we are at an impasse, we've decided to stop TTCing- we don't want to ruin our marriage. I wish that I didn't feel like there is someone else I haven't met yet. It's so palpable.

To complicate matters, my best friend is going to give birth to her 4th baby and moment now. While I'm over the moon for her, it's going to be very much in my face what I long for but cannot have.

Sadly, I won't be in here much, if at all. I'm going to be moving into our new house and trying to get our house sold. Since I long to know the outcome of your journeys, please PM me! I want to know what happens with all of you and want to keep in touch! PMing, will be much easier for me.

Sorry to hear this, XX. The TTC process is so agonizing, there's always time to back out or change your mind and that makes people keep evaluating and reevaluating their choices. Generally I think it's easier to be decisive so long TTCing seems destined to make people confused and upset. I hope you and your family come to the best decision for you all. Good luck with the move, maybe we'll see you back when things settle down!

Oh no xxforhubby, so sorry to read this. I will miss you so much, you have been so supportive. I think it is mad how attached I have become to people I don't even know. I wish you and your boys well, I hope you find peace and I hope you have a wonderful happy life. Xx I know exactly how you feel. DH has continued giving me mixed signals too. He makes little comments all the time like "I'm happy with our family how it is" & if the kids are playing up or are sick he says "and you want another one". I have tried to get him to talk & he always just says well I am happy with how things are but you want another one so we'll keep trying until November. Last night I finally got him to open up more & he admitted he would be gutted if we had another girl & would feel like a failure. If we could guarantee a boy he would be happy but we cannot afford to travel overseas to do that & morally I couldnt anyway (no judgement against those who take this path). He says we don't need anymore girls in the family & I said then I can't continue to ttc knowing that he wouldn't cope with another girl, it just doesn't seem right & I feel that he would resent me for it as I'm the one that wants another one & I would love a boy but would be happy with another girl too. I just wish he had been honest about his true feelings earlier. I never would have started ttc if I knew he wouldn't cope with another girl. Why do men find it so hard to communicate. I feel like the last 18 months of my life have been a waste. I came off the pill in November 2014 & we put off ttc a couple of times last year due to other commitments & I was just tracking my cycle until December last year when we started ttc. I have gained weight & feel horrible about myself as well which isn't helping. We are going away tomorrow as dd3 has an appointment in a city 5 hours away on Monday so DH has said we will talk more in the car. So it looks like I may no longer be ttcing either. I am currently 7dpo & would be really surprised if I was pregnant. Temps aren't doing much & I feel normal & we only got 2 attempts in.

I think this is great advice Lissa, especially if you want to get pregnant quickly. I too was debating having one or two attempts this month (third cycle on Clomid, had a chemical last month).

I ultimately decided to do two attempts. I did a J&D first attempt and we will do our second attempt tomorrow but I will likely lay down for 5-10 minutes.

Oh my goodness, what a day of awful news! !!

XX you have been such a cheerleader for so many. Sending you huge hugs. I understand the bf baby thing, my DHS sister is pregnant and he wonders why I don't want to look at her cure pregnant belly. Did I mention she got pregnant the month I lost Lily? Yeah...kick in the gut even tho I am SUPER happy for her and excited to be an auntie. It's just been a tough road. I'm sure you will find your equilibrium again...but...and this is for BOTH you ladies... If a baby means so much to you, you might begin to resent your husbands and marriages. I think it can be damaging to
a marriage from experiences with other people. It's one if those things that for some ppl makes them reevaluate the whole marriage. I know ppl who have gotten divorced over this! Not being a herbinger of relationship death but it's something you both need to really do some soul searching over and decide what's right for you.

Hi ladies! I have been trying to be good and not swaycess but I haven't exactly been an angel... Soooooo I'm back! I took my second round of femara this cycle and had a 20mm follie as of Thursday! Got an attempt in last night and got a SUPER dark +opk today. Hoping to have a temp spike in the morning :) if it's not there, I'm not sure if I should throw in one more attempt, any advice would be appreciated! Hugs xx and farmgirl

OMG! My DH had a long talk with a mutual friend and came to the realization that he should follow through with TTCing until December. Our friend pointed out that I always support him in all endeavors no matter the impact on our family. While having a 4th child requires some help from him, I provide 90% of the care until age 2. I have not asked for anything other than this, and I have agreed to his terms. At least he could follow through with his. Wow!

We had a heart to heart and both listened to each other's points of view. While he had reservations of what a 4th child will have on our family, he said I am a great mom and will continue to provide great care and love to all our kids. The thought of 4 kids does overwhelm him a bit, disappointing me breaks his heart. I told him that I can help when he feels overwhelmed by taking on more responsibility when he is home instead of relying on him a lot. I told him he will have to communicate with me and let me know. He said he will continue to do his part and BD frequently as long as I continue to listen to his concerns. I certainly can do that knowing where we stand! I'm glad we are back on track!

I'm so glad you have worked things out, XXforhubby!

I am doing terrible keeping up with the sway since day before O. Totally slacking with exercising, and yesterday I was eating too often. Ugh. Whatever. I don't think we will conceive this month anyway. We stuck with the one attempt but my opk was positive today too, which means we may have got our attempt in at our magic day.

Still, I am kind of hoping that it didn't work because I will have more time to make this sway count!

Unless I change my mind before then and decide a second child isn't what I really want. I really want to get back into my career!

Thank you ladies for all of your support! The funny thing is, this whole swaying business has changed me! This type of stress used to cause me to snack. Now, it caused my appetite to stop! I totaled up my food for the day, and I was sitting at 1300 cals, fat 32g, protein 31g [emoji51][emoji51]! I'm still breastfeeding a lot, but I haven't noticed my supply lessening so I will start to eat a bit more. I usually get 1600-1700, 40-50g for both fat and protein.

My grandma who is like my mom, she has 3 girls. I confided in her a bit about being stressed (not going into details), and she said that's how stress affects her. She's been my gauge on how to implement the "girl mindset". She was surprised that I didn't lay into my DH. I just was too upset by his behavior and felt defeated, which now looking back on it, is something I never felt before. Thank goodness for myfitnesspal! It makes sticking to the limits so easy!!

XX I'm so glad you're still here, it wouldn't be the same without you!! Hopefuly your DH will stop this nonsense and go back to being supportive, I kind of remember you said great things about him in the past. Sometimes they're going through a tough stage and take it out on us. Whenever dh acts up like that I tell my self probably his testosterone levels have dropped and that is good for my sway , hahaha!

We just came back from a family holiday in Germany. My diet was so bad these past 9 days, absolutly horrible. I actually found myself waiting to come home and return to my LE eating habbits. Today is cd9 for me, continuing BD every 3 days. Good luck ladies!!

Decided attempt last night and now am thinking it may have been too late! Though I only got a flashing smilie this morning. I have had two temp increases in a row. I should have bd Friday am but no opportunity so had to opt for Friday pm but dh likes to draw the process out so it ended up as an attempt at 12:15 so technically Saturday am, do you think it will make a difference?

perhaps a silly question for you ladies - but why do you test for positive OPK days after you get the positive? Once I get the positive OPK I stop testing (having said that I also get great signs physically as well).

Some people never quite get a positive so they keep testing, or they have had false surges (false positives) before and want to make certain they catch the real surge. This often happens while taking Clomid.

Finally have a positive opk! Cd16 so at least that's not too late. Plan to change my blood progesterone test so that it is 7dpo.

Because i have a history of not ovulating or ovulating late thanks to PCOS I dont ever get great physical symptoms...if i hadnt kept testing, i would have missed my actual ovulation and i probably wouldnt be pregnant right now.

Right, need more advice. I am doing e4d's, cd 16. I bd on Friday about 11:30pm. On Friday morning I got a high on clear blue fertility monitor but an empty circle on digital. Saturday morning I got a flashing smilie on digital. This morning for the first time in a good few months I got an ehh symbol on the clear blue fertility monitor, i thought I would never see other again. I got a static smilie on digital so am defo ovulating. My dilemma is I could o in the next 12 to 36 hours but obviously this process started at some point between yesterday morning and this morning so I could be well into this time frame already. Am not due to bd again until Tuesday pm, which but my limited knowledge will be too far out? If i move to e3d's that would be Monday pm, better but still think far out? So my only choice is to hope that the attempt on Friday was close enough? Or attempt tomorrow morning? If I had an empty circle on the digital on Friday am, technically could I say that was not in my fertile window? I had ewcm on Friday. Just looking for opinions, I realise it is ultimately my choice but would have sex on Friday at 11:30pm and Monday am put me very much into blue territory? Or anyone have any other suggestions about better timing? I have had two unsuccessful attempts June and July, despite timing been spot on. It made me question if I was o as I never got the egg symbol. Am concerned given my age I may not o every month and if I don't capitalise on this month it might be a few months more. I have been in the le diet and exercising 6 days per week since April, getting fed up with it and worry am going to slacker and slacker at it. This is why I really dislike using opks with the E4D or E3D method- all it does is cause unnecessary panic that could be avoided otherwise.

To answer your question, no matter what you choose you are facing having 2 attempts in your fertile window. If you are ok with that, then have an attempt either tonight late or tomorrow morning- it is the same difference. If you are not ok having 2 attempts in your fertile window, then have your attempt either Tuesday in the morning or Tuesday night.

Honestly, just pick one and stick with it. This stress you put yourself under is likely to delay O or inhibit conception. In the future, stick with one thing only- attempt at FIRST positive opk, E3D, or E4D, and leave it at that. If you want to do anything extra you can chart your temp but just choose ONE pattern for BDing.

The month I got my bfp, I had been trying to do e4d but sometimes going longer. We dtd on CD12 and CD16, I don't do opks but based on ov signs, I *think* I ov on either CD15 or CD16, so I really didn't think it was going to happen but 2 weeks later I got my BFP! So, it can happen, and I do like the idea of doing e4d to ensure you get an attempt in without risking too many!x

Even E3D often ends up with one viable attempt. For instance, this month I had an O-3 and an O attempt. Technically 2 attempts but only one being realistically viable since not many attempts on O day end up with a BFP.

So bding tomorrow pm would fit with e3d's but still an ineffective an attempts as will be too late. Realistically I think I would need to BD tonight but that would only be 48 hours between attempts and at one my third month trying it is too much blue terrority. I just seem to have opted for the wrong method each month, the past two months I went with at positive OPK but due to no egg symbol on the clear blue fertility monitor I then moved to e4d's, with hindsight June and July I would have been better opting for e4d's from the start but this month I went for e4d's from the start and would have been better to have waited for positive OPK this month. Suppose turns the brakes! How long do average sperm hang around? I know they can survive for something like 5 days but what is usual life span? I think I read it was only one or two days at most? Any chance from an attempt on early hours of Saturday morning with possible ovulation Monday? I just have a feeling my dh swimmers don't hang around!

I think I would be tempted to have an extra attempt tonight if I were u. As you have a good strong positive opk which have not been getting lately.

This is only my opinion and totally your choice in what you prefer to do.
I have definitely had 2 attempts in fertile window this month, as i feel that I now just want to get pregnant!
I think this 6 months of ttc have really helped with my gender desire :)

You're facing 2 attempts anyway if you do E3D and go with tomorrow early morning (before kids wake up) or tomorrow night. If you're worried it will be too late, then I would opt for tonight.

The thing is, you're trying to make things fit with what you want to do. It's not going to be a "pink" attempt. Worrying about it is not going to help. Flip a coin and go with what the coin says. Heads you have an attempt tonight, and tails you have an attempt tomorrow. No matter what you do, you've got to find peace with it. I get the impression from you that if you attempt tonight, you're going to stew over it being too blue. As well as if you wait to attempt until tomorrow sometime, you're going to stew over possibly missing the egg. You see, you're setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment. Make a decision and don't look back. Working yourself up over this is going to sway far more blue than any attempt will!

I gotta say though, having attempts over 2 days is mighty blue. If you ovulate today, the egg stays around 12-24 hours. You may have already released the egg. Flip that coin and put it out of your mind [emoji6]!

I'm trying to not get my hopes up, since I've had good looking charts before that were BFNs. However, it's making feel like things are finally settling down hormonal wise for me postpartum. My DS3 breastfeeds 6-7 times a day now with one feeding overnight and solids twice a day. I've now been able to reduce my calories to 1500-1600 with 50-60g protein and 40-50g fat. This is my sweet spot! The cardio had been kinda hit and miss with 4-5 times a week now that our closing date is approaching at the end of this week. I'll be lucky to fit it in and hope to get my 6 days in before Friday when we close on the house!

Thanks everyone, I think am going to stick with e3d and leave it tonight, I think tomorrow night will be too late, so will still keep me with one attempt. Jennypenny if I had been trying for six months I would be defo adding attempts but it is only month 3, I sort of feel that if I got an egg symbol once I can get it again! Your so right xxforhubby but I think I will stew less about missing the egg than about sway been too blue if you know what I mean? With not attempting tonight the worst outcome is another missed month and have dealt with that, if I attempt and get pregnant high chance of it been a boy and I know I would be disappointed as this is my last baby and I would be annoyed that I did not wait. Thanks for all your input, I really appreciate it!

When are you testing xxforhubby? What stage are others at?

I will be testing either Thursday (11dpo) or Friday (12dpo) morning. AF should arrive Saturday or Sunday. We will be moving on Saturday so I hope to know before then to know how much I can do.

I just don't feel pregnant. It's weird- I haven't had a huge increase in appetite that I normally get in the 2ww. It's been real easy for me to stick to the no snacking part. I guess that's why I don't think I'll get a BFP this cycle. I think my hormones are still balancing out. Who knows though!

Girlie something to keep in mind. I had a lot of other girl factors to be fair but when I got pregnant with my youngest DD it was "blue" timing. You have to live with whatever you decide but if you have been on the girl sway long enough and doing all that you can, even DTD tonight gets you a good chance of a daughter of you have done well on your sway otherwise

What would u say was your girl key factors as far as LE lifestyle goes since you have 3 girls? Thanks

Thanks burakoam, seems the universe has intervened ds2 is not settling so is in our bed, he has been waking every half an hour, baby making plans are defo out the window!
Any chance that the swimmers from early Saturday morning will hang around? X

What I ate. I had enough protein in the form of milk and other forms of dairy but lacked it in the form of red meat, chicken, etc. I had days where I'd eat one or two small meals and that's it. i am 5'1 and when I conceived my 10 year old I was 115 pounds max... When I conceived my 2nd I was closer to 110 pounds. So the small side. With my current youngest I was 120 pounds and going long periods of time between meals and no snacking because I worked night shift hours. I was doing cardio but no kind of weight lifting at all.

With the father of my first two he and I only saw each other when he felt like it and so I also didn't have sex often. One attempt within fertile window both times and I didn't even know anything about fertile Windows back then lol... I just know that's how little we were 'together'. Lots of chocolate and lots of sweets. My sodium and caffeine intake were also very high all 3 times.

However with my youngest my husband and I DTD when we got the positive OPK, the next morning and night, and the next morning and night after that. A boy tactic. She is still all girl so it had to be the way I ate and excersise patterns.

Gotta say I'm also not like most boy moms personality wise. I'm very submissive, meek, shy, and awful at standing up for myself. I normally let things roll off my shoulders or attempt to ignore things instead of fight them. However personality is a hard thing to change so hopefully diet and excersise can do it for most :)
