Try not to worry mochagirl - was stalking your thread on iG and the poster named WMB was referring to minimuffin27 nub shot when she said it had a bump on it. It's confusing but she quoted minimuffin in the post. X
Ah - I was reading it on my iPhone and wondered what she meant by 'sorry for responding here' or whatever it was she said.
I am hopeless at nubs but I will just say that at DS 4's scan, he was SO OBVIOUSLY a boy and I don't see any of that here.

Are you going to find out early at a private U/S place? I am sticking to the 19 weeks at my DR's office. That will be the last week of April. I would like to find out around my birthday, when I'm about 16ish weeks, but the only private place around here cost 90 dollars for 10 minutes and they do mostly 26 weeks + 3D/4D, so I don't think they do gender determination, it wasn't on their menu of prices.
I just posted about this in our due date group, but I found out the private place near me doesn't do gender scans until 20 weeks. Why would I pay for a scan at 20 weeks when I can get one for free then?? Anyway, a place about an hour away from here does them at 18 weeks, and on their website it says 'no guarantees for gender scans prior to 18 weeks', which I think could mean they will do them earlier. I've emailed and am waiting to see what they say. They only charge $60, so if they'll let me get one at 16-17 weeks I may go for it!
Mocha- I would go too if I want to find out lol. And really a private place only see you at 20 weeks wth who want's to go there so late , right?

I updated elsewhere, but I thought I'd mention here too that the u/s place got back to me, and they'll do a gender scan at 16.5 or 17 weeks, but without guaranteeing the results. It's only a 2D scan - how accurate do you think the results will be? Should I go for it?
I would think that as long as the tech is experienced - which I would trust he/she would be - they should be able to tell. As Canadians, we see those ultrasounds from the US all the time with 16 week gender shots that are clear as day. I had a private scan at 17 weeks and it was clear as day that my little guy was a HE. Maybe girls can be trickier? As long as there isn't a bunch of cord down there, you'd think they should be able to tell.
I bumped your post over on IG as well. If you are so inclined - you could alter your title to try and get Nicholerh's guess. She is a tech and accurately guessed my little guys tricky nub a couple years back. She's still pretty active over on IG and it seems like she rarely gets it wrong (or will at least give you a percentage guess of how confidant she is).

Weird...definitely sounds like IG gremlins - last I looked there were a couple of pages of responses! A few people have said they can't see the pictures, but I have no idea why because everyone else can see them.
Thanks again everyone for all the encouragement. I'm really scared to get my hopes up - I feel like I need to protect myself by assuming it'll be a boy until proven otherwise. I had a very, very strange birth dream last night where at the last moment I decided to have an unassisted home birth. All went well - it was an almost painless labour (I wish!) and I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Then...this is where it gets weird. Fast forward to two days later and I suddenly realise I'd gotten busy with the other kids I'd completely forgotten about the baby and hadn't nursed him even once! After a frantic search for him, we found him in the same room I'd given birth in (in my Mom's house, for some reason), and he was a DOLL and not a baby! The whole dream freaked me out.
The scan photo looks very much like my daughters scan so my guess is girl :)

I think I'm going to schedule my private u/s for 17 weeks - they'll only do it after 16.5 weeks anyway, so I might as well wait for the Saturday when it will be easier to get there, and I'll be exactly 17 weeks that day. The next 4 weeks feel like they're going to last forever. I'm really scared to get my hopes up it may be a girl, especially since I've gotten a few boy guesses on IG and most of the people saying girl are only giving it a slight girl lean. I can't even express how excited I'll be if I see girly bits at the scan! I'm scared to even hope it's going to happen.
It is scary, I have everything crossed for you though!
I have absolutely no idea on the gender but I am keeping everything crossed for you that it is a pink one, you so deserve it! Can't wait for the update in a few weeks. xx

I know there's not much by way of nubs in either of these shots, but I can't help but notice that skull shape is very similar to my newest babe. What do you all think? Here's that picture again for reference:

I think all the similarity in skulls tells you is that they are all your babies!
My boys all look highly similar on ultrasound, as did my niece.

Don't stress too much about the skull shape Mocha! It seems like its appearance can change from looking flatter to more rounded depending on the angle the tech is at.
The nub on this babe is so clear, I'm still hoping that Nicholerh on IG will guess for you!
Thanks, nicoler! I'm a worrier by nature and also a little obsessive, so unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to think of little else but what gender this babe is until I know for sure.
Totally understandable!! I haven't even begun trying to get pregnant yet and I'm already obsessed about the gender of my imaginary future baby!! Hopefully 6 months down the road, you'll be holding your baby girl and reassuring me about my own 12 week scan :bigsmile:
A good friend from my IG days just messaged me to say that she showed my picture to a nub-obsessed u/s tech friend of hers. Her verdict was that this nub is "definitely pink". I hope she's right! I'm still scared to even hope, and time seems to be crawling by....
Mochagirl, this looks a lot like my nub. I did HT for a girl, and she's one month old now and most definitely a girl. do a search for my nub pics- I would but need to change a diaper

I just booked a gender scan for April 5th!! I can't believe I'll know in less than 3 weeks! Of course, I'll probably be so nervous going into it I'll feel like throwing up, but if I find out, it will make for the best Easter weekend EVER. I'll be en route to my Mom's house when I get the scan (we have to drive a while to get there, but luckily it's on the way), so I'll be able to announce the gender to my family...or not if I hear boy and need some time to process the news. I won't tell anyone I'm going, except maybe my Mom. At least a weekend away immediately afterwards will be a good distraction if I don't hear the news I want to hear....
