yay indigo, i hope everything went well..:)
I just wanted to say Dannikans that your oldest son looks like a model! haha They are all so cute!
Midwives appointment went well today heres an update Midwife appointment & Trace (KTG) Ŧ Journey2dfuture
So he finally arrived! Yesterday afternoon. Had mild contractions most of the morning and then by 2ish told DH he better not go into work. Another hour called hosp and made our way there, he was born less than an hour after we arrived. I was only 4cms dilated when they first checked me so going to 10 so quickly felt like being hit by a bus! I was begging for an epidural but there wasn't time. I'm glad I *thought* I was going to have one though as it got me through most of the hour. He is lovely of course, just realising how demanding the feeding is though, he just won't stop!
Will try to post a pic soon, loads of love to you all :HH:
Sorry I kept you all waiting. Couldn't give you an update when I was still at home as cxs suddenly got so painful and then I was in hospital without internet connection. So sweet of you all to ask. We got home 24 hours after he arrived, managed to have a quick nap this evening, now feeding and then to bed. FX we get a bit of sleep tonight, I'm so tired.
Awwww Hun huge congratulations :) I'm so pleased he's finally here!
Enjoy your new little man! What's his name?? X
YAY ! Congratulations Rest up :)
Congratulations on the birth of your little boy, indigo! :HH:
Does that mean I'm next?
Congratulations Indigo great news your home with your baby so early. How are your other kids with him? Proud I bet. You sound just like me begging for the epidural but no time, I get goosebumps thinking of the pain and yes these newborns and there cluster feeding is only until your milk fully comes in and settles. Take care hon x
Lol journey I guess it does! :)
And not long to go now!!!
Thanks for all the congrats ladies :HH:
belle- so reassuring to know you have been there too, thanks for the understanding.
winter- wow, sounds like you are getting really close, I've always had mine pretty soon after loosing the plug. Good luck hon, will be checking in for updates!!
Nothing to update - I think I lost a little plug because of the internal examination the midwife did. Contractions were every 10-8mins yesterday for pretty much the whole day. I showered and headed to bed early just in case. I woke up 3-4 times to pee and felt a few contractions. but this morning nothing. :( I go back to the hospital tonight at 8pm for another KTG.
Indigo congratulations!! Wow that was a speedy delivery.
I'm totally with you on how demanding nursing is, I hardly have time for..well whatever!
Now Letizia only wants to sleep with me next to her, my poor boys, they're so annoyed from school vacation, the heat and sitting at home.
Congrats on 40weeks winter! It will happen soon xxxx
A little update after I was at the hospital last night, I had previously been on Friday morning and my cervix was only dilated a finger tip, contractions on the monitor were few and far between.
But yesterday I'm 1.5cm dilated. Contractions were stronger, longer and more frequent. It could be any time now or another week. No body knows. I managed to sleep somewhat last night but found it very uncomfortable. Today I've woken up to more period like cramps and contractions on top. I guess this could be the start.
I go back on Wednesday night 7pm for another KTG and examination.
Good luck winter, sounds like there is a lot going on, really really can't be long. Really hope you have a good labour experience. Will keep checking in but baby is keeping me pretty busy. I forgot how time consuming newborns are!
Since the last update - I lost my plug yesterday lunch time. A huge amount. I thought the contractions would of started by the evening. But I was wrong. I even walked for 45 mins last night with DH.
Nothing is happening. Back to the hospital tonight for some more monitoring.
Good luck journey sounds like things could happen soon for you :)
We all went overdue lol
I went to the hospital last night I'm 2cm and having some good contractions but they weren't really painful. If nothing happens we go back on Saturday.
This morning I've lost another huge amount of mucus plug. Contractions are being a little uncomfortable but keeping calm and breathing through. Nothing is regular though.
Hopefully he'll be here before the weekend.
Good luck honey, will keep checking for updates & sending you lots of happy labour vibes :HH:
How you doing today journey? Hope all is well :)
How are all mummies and babies? Lily is fab altho she has Colic I believe which is making her quite upset in the evenings, nothing too major but I am going to change my diet a bit to see if it helps. My dp is now away in south Africa and mum has come to visit which is nice!
I'm not happy with my body so am looking to get some exercise, to try and get rid of the mummy tummy!
Journey, thinking of you!!! Kell I was two weeks early and I'm dying to get into some serious exercise for my belly but I need to follow strict physio instructions for my muscle seperation which is a fist wide and painful. Oh kell hopefully lilys colic is mild and will calm soon. Isabelle is doing well she sometimes gets wind pain when she doesn't burp properly but I shouldn't complain because she still sleeps and only wakes up once in the night when I'm asleep. Im just so enjoying her and knowing shes my last im loving it even more. How is everyone else going Indigo, Indira???
thinking of you journey...:)
hows everyone else doing?
I'm thinking maybe she's already had her baby boy!
Journey I hope all is well, is he here yet??
Well this thread sure is an overdue one!
Kell sorry to hear Lily is colic, hope it gets better soon with you changing your diet a bit and that you cope with Dh being away.
I also want to get back in shape, was a bit shocked I don't fit into my big jeans, still wearing maternity ones.
But I'm noticing I'm loosing a bit of that flabby belly every day without doing anything, that gives me hope.
Sorry I hardly get on, Letizia is 3 weeks now and now I'm starting to feel fit again and in control of the situation.
She eats and sleeps basically, except when she misses a nap then she cries. She does wake up 3-4 times at night, that's tiring but she's still so small. Oh and she hates going out, funny little girl.
And her big brother is completely in love, wants to hold her and play with her all day, she's his first thought when he wakes up.
He is here ! Baby Vinnie (Vincent) Kai was born Friday 24th August at 6:35pm 7.4lbs. After 25 hours of labours, 2 failed epidural's and begging to be cut to speed the pushing stage up. He arrived safely.
I had four stitches and I seem to be healing pretty well - Sore and swollen.
He's breast feeding like a garbage truck ! Every 2 hours for a good 20-30 mins. My nipples are a little sore but nipple cream and an Ice pack seem to be helping. I'm pretty sure my milk is coming now, I've had some slight pain on my right breast near my armpit. I'm planning to take a shower and do a gentle massage to help ease it later.
Vinnie is sleeping most of the time - Pooping 2-3 times a day :)
We stayed in hospital in till 7pm Sunday night and arrived home around 8pm, Showered, ate, and slept. It's only now I'm finding the time to catch up with Facebook - Blog & Forums.
Hope everyone is doing well.
I'm planning to work on my birth story sometime this week all being well. I'll post a link once its up and ready to read.
Awww journey congratulations!! Can't wait to read your birth story and see a picture :)
Enjoy these first few weeks they fly by!
Indira bless your ds! My boys are like that with Lily!
Our little lady is a month old today, I can't believe how quickly that's gone, and at the same time it feels like she's always been here! I had my first definate smile from her this morning, there was no wind involved at all lol, I was talking to her and she just beamed it was adorable! She's also started to babble a little which is cute!
She tends to wake twice a night for a feed which I can cope with.
Feeding is going well here, I am now starting to express a few oz a day so I can try and get her to take the odd bottle should I want her to. This is the last week of school holidays for ds1 which fills me with dread! Gotta start thinking about the school run again :S
Hope all mummies and babies are well! :)
Journey Congratulations, can't wait to read your birth story and his name is beautiful Well done.
Isabelle is 6 weeks old and wakes up once a night so I can't complain about that I'm just so loving and enjoying her so and Indira and Kell I think our boys are the same, mine wake up and don't even say good morning anymore they just look at me and ask where's Isabelle or they first run straight to her cradle. It really is lovely to see. I have my ds2 at home sick with croup so I'm trying and praying that Isabelle doesn't get it as I still have another week and a half before she gets immunized.
Thanks ladies Vinnie is just amazing. Although he sleeps lots, I seem to be on a serious go slow. Healing is so hard. The stitches hurt, my boobs hurt, my pelvis feels like its moving, my lower back hurts... All normal right?
Just not easy going when you have housework and new born to feed every 2hrs. Getting up and down from a sitting position is hard :( Walking hurts. Blah Im full of complaints.
When does it get better?
Heres baby Vinnie :)

First off he is absolutely adorable!!! :)
What a little cutie!
Unfortunatly yep all the aches and pains are quite normal, dose yourself up with paracetamol! They do ease off in a couple of weeks but that doesn't really help now!
Don't worry about the housework, just concerntrate on you two for now, the housework can wait :)
huge congrats hun, hes beautiful!!!!
Aww Journey he is gorgeous his very cute Congratulations again! And yes like Kell said aches and pains are normal just drug yourself up and they'll be gone before you know it. Sleep deprivation will kick in soon and you also get use to that too...
Oh I remember those awful pains, I could barely move after my episiotomy for 2 weeks. Don't worry about the housework, just focus on healing and taking care of that beautiful baby boy!!
OH! and a huge congratulations Journey!!
Congrats again, J! Vinnie is such a cutie pie, love his outfit too! :D I agree, no worries about housework. Were you given any pain meds? Can you call and ask for some? I didn't need to ask, the nurses saw how crippled I was after a huge tear with DS2. Hope you heal very soon and enjoy newborn snuggles! <3
Thank you ladies - DH has started to be more understanding now. :) which helps a lot. My MIL even ironed all V's clothes yesterday to help out. His draws were empty! This kid pees on every as soon as you take the nappy off!
I've got some serious catching up to do on my blog& forums. The time just goes so quickly :/ Why is that?
Congratulations Journey!
He is adorable!
Yes it isnīt easy in the first weeks, getting used to the baby and all those pains, but it gets better from this point on.
Housework?? Are you kidding me? Your priority is to have a shower and be able to have 3 meals a day!
Glad to hear Dh is more understanding and MIL is helping out. Hugs
