Taytum- oh you poor thing! Have you talked to yourDr. about your cycle length?? I really hope you O soon or have Od.
Maiden- There are lots of books I like which most definitely would be considered low brow or YA. I hope I didn't give the impression that I thought the books you suggested were bad. I can't relate when the protagonist likes multiple people or when they don't tell someone how they feel but many people can read those stories without having to relate to the protagonist. I think it is just a personal issue. I'm at the gym now with the kiddos but I'll check out your other suggestion when I get home. If you haven't read the Sabriel series by Garth Nix or Poison Study series by Maria Synder(although really only the first one is good) I can recommend them. I also read a book "California Bones" by Greg Eekhout this summer which I loved very fast paced and fun and a take on magic I hadn't seen before.

Grace- Yay! I really hope you caught the egg with a pink sperm!! FX for you!
Junie- I sure hope you O soon!
TaytumJ- you poor thing! I would do the same thing and need to see a new chart with cycles that long. Have you notified your doctor of this? FX you O soon!
AFM- DS2 weaned himself yesterday. He didn't ask and I didn't offer. We made it to 20 months (I could have gone longer), which is how long I BFed DS1. Acupuncture is totally helping AF. I haven't had a period like this since I had my boys! It's a welcome change!
Ladies waiting to test, I am hoping beyond hope that you get your BFPs this cycle! For my mental health, I need to see more [emoji3]!

Books, more books!
I went and edited my post to add more but then my stupid tablet crashed, argh! I was not offended at all I know just what you mean, Junie. There are certain tropes I just can't stand either. So just ignore my polyamory suggestions below! My issue is indecisive characters who are so self-unaware they can't see whom they should choose, but multiple love interests don't inherently bother me.
Here is what I was able to recover:
My recs are all at least 4/5 stars (out of 2000 books on goodreads, I think I have 30 x 5 stars, maybe 70 x 4 stars? Most books get 2-3 stars and I give 1 stars, too). I am a super harsh rater and picky (I prefer 'discriminating') should be my first name! But I'm trying to think of books that are long AND good AND you can't put them down, not necessarily my fave books ever.
The Night Huntress books by Jeaniene Frost with Cat & Bones are fantastic PNR, with a couple that stays together (also my preference). The Golden Compass/His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman is the height of YA fantasy. The Merry Gentry series by Laurell K Hamilton, PNR, it has polyamory and lots of sex, and I LOVE the characters. Two of my top 10 favourite books of all time are The Diamond Age and Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. His Cryptonomicon is also fantastic and very long (> 1000 pages). All his stuff is SF. Kushiel's Dart etc (there are 3 trilogies set in the same fantasy world and each book is around1000 pages!) by Jacqueline Carey are wonderful romantic fantasy with political intrigue.
The Thirst/Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike are my #1 favourite books, YA urban fantasy. Graceling by Kristin Cashore is 5 star fantasy plus romance, and I'm reading the 3rd book in the same world currently. Frank Herbert's Dune series (all 6 books) are awesome SF. If you like vampires, they have been my literary obsession for the past 20 years so I can give many recs there. Oh, and nearly all my suggestions are completed series, not still in progress.
I assume you've read Harry Potter? I loved the Sabriel series and the Poison Study books are on my to-read list! I have not heard of Califotnia Bones but will look it up. We read mostly the same genres, though I do read historical romance and historical fiction/classics now and then.

XX, congrats on 20 months BFing, that's amazing! Are you sure it's the acupuncture and not reduced BFing/weaning that's responsible for your normalized AF?
I am still not sure if I've Oed, so maybe I still have a shot this month. I've had SO much EWCM and O pain this cycle, maybe due to the Soy?

Maiden- It could be a combination of reduced BFing and the acupuncture, since I had been BFing DS2 once a day for a cycle and a half. Hard to really say! It took 2 cycles for them to get back on track after weaning DS1 though. DS1 weaned himself suddenly at 20 months when I was still BFing him 2-3 times a day. Maybe that had something to do with it taking 2 cycles before conceiving DS2. Who knows! I'm just glad that I was able to BF DS2 just as long as DS1 while swaying for part of it!

Junie & XX - so hoping I get more signs that this was O. Maybe I just want it so badly that I'm pushing it. I went to my general doctor at the beginning of January about it, since I hadn't O'ed or had a period since beginning of Oct. She didn't seem that concerned, just said it was me coming off BC (fair enough). I had an U/S done and they said everything looks fine - one larger cyst on my left ovary, but again, didn't seem concerned. I made an appt though with an actual OBGYN this month to get better answers. Hopefully something good comes of it! Thanks so much for your well wishes and support! I'd just like to at least have some hope of TTC (so I definitely can relate to you there, Junie!)
Also, I love YA series! I teach 7th and 8th grade LA, and right now the students are really in the Fallen series. I've only read the first book (it was good, but definitely more YA). I'm assuming you've read the Divergent series? I'm finishing my Master's this semester so it seems like I've only been reading counseling curriculum books but I'll be following along for any new books to pick up as well!

Hi gals :) popping in to introduce myself. I have 2 boys (5&7) and just had my iud removed last month after my hubby surprised me with wanting to try for a third. We would love a girl, but mostly are thrilled to add another soul to our family regardless of flavor. I am swaying lightly, skipping breakfast, cardio 70+minutes 6 days a week, taking fiber, and choosing less nutritious food overall. We're aiming for 1 attempt in the fertile window, so probably tomorrow or Monday. I'm not temping, but did buy my first ever OPKs yesterday and will use those to help determine O - even though my cycles are pretty regular and EWCM is a great clue for me.
My most recent pregnancy was a surrogacy, which resulted in a beautiful baby boy in October of 2013. It was a beautiful experience, and learning all about IVF was really neat. For some reason I'm nervous about conceiving naturally after IVF, but I know it's unfounded worry. Lots of my surro friends have gone on to conceive just fine, and there is no indication it will be any different for me.
I'm happy to hang here and get to know all of you!

Welcome Vegmom! Your sway sounds great! You are such an amazing, giving person! I'm sure you'll have no problem conceiving, since you're not doing a ton of extraneous stuff that really doesn't sway and reduces conception. FX you get a BFP soon!

Taytum, Divergent is on my to-read list. Who is the author of the Fallen series? Sounds familiar. And what exactly is LA? What is your Master's in?
Vegmom, I agree, your sway sounds good and surrogacy is an incredible gift. I highly doubt your experience will have any negative effects. If anything being recently pregnant could help your pink sway. If I actually O or did, sounds like we may be in the TWW together this month.
