 I want you on my tribe!
Hi all, feeling very fed up today as I'm so uncomfortable with a tongue full of ulcers. Anyhow, here's my food:
Lunch: Spaghetti with extra light cheese triangle (made double portion but got bored half way through!), mini battenberg cake, 2 Fox's Glacier Fruits
Dinner: Bagel with jam, Velvet Crunch, Jam Tart.
Snack: Strawberry Cornetto
P, that's a great strategy! I'm loving my white basmati rice these days too! Hope you can get those steaks grilling soon. I know both you and DH will be so very happy soon!
YAY Swish! Game's on...go get your pink bean!!! :cheer:
zan, those tongue ulcers are the worst, aren't they. Every now and then I get them and it just puts me in a bad mood. Have you tried holding salt to them? That seems to be the only thing that heals them for me even though the salt stings. Hope they get better!
Doula, sending up a flock of BFN prayers for you!!!
For the ulcers- alum is great for drying them up quickly as well:) put a wet qtip into some and put it on the ulcer- I won't lie- it stings like a mo-fo but it works!
Zani, what is velvet crunch?
Doula-praying for your BFN... Everyone else lets get this girl party started!
Yummy rice lunch... i flavored it with a little paprika and cheyanne pepper to make it easy to sallow.
Thanks all - what's alum DM?
swish - these are them!

I probably won't buy them again for a while because they're too good - and I try to have sweet rather than savoury because I don't usually have a sweet tooth, which probably doesn't make any sense whatsoever!
Thanks PP:) :HH:
http://www.bulkbarn.ca/en-ca/products.html?product=2668 This is what it is. I think it works wonders on canker sores:)
Another thing I was thinking about was your toothpaste. Does it have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it? If it does I would find one without it. SLS makes the paste foam in your mouth and it destroys the lining on your gums. It's very bad stuff.
HTH!
Hi ladies - I'm 7dpo now and feeling really bloated and crampy. I can test soon - yay! I think I might cave and use an IC tomorrow morning, just for fun - don't worry, I don't have any expectation of a positive that early.
Here's today:
6:30am: coffee
12pm: shirataki noodles with sodium free pasta sauce and low sodium parmesan, 2 bites of ds's peach mango cupcake, a peach and a handful of raspberries
5:30pm: vegetarian Mexican lasagna, 1 cob of corn, rainbow sherbet and 2 sugar free cookies for dessert
8:30pm: low fat vanilla ice cream with raspberries, a handful of low fat salt & vinegar chips, Sour Patch Kids
Calories: 1441
Protein: 42g (oops - who knew corn had so much protein in it??)
Sodium: 1015mg
Hi all!
Hope everyone is ok! Today...
No breakfast
Lunch m and s salad, strawberries, mini chocolate and oragne roll, min flapjack, apple and cinnamon rice cakes
Dinner risotto with courgette, aubergine and Parmesan. Frozen yogurt, meringue and raspberries
I think the salad was a bit 'healthy' but it was yummy and we were having a picnic, I'm much more relaxed withdiet at the moment but I don't care, helps me feel less fed up!!!!
I'm glad you're feeling less fed up swish and your diet looks absolutely fine to me anyway :D
I had:
Lunch: Bagel with sugar free jam, mini battenberg cake
Dinner: Tesco light choices tomato and cheese pasta bake, bakewell tart
Snack: Tesco value white chocolate & strawberry cereal bar, ww toffee & honeycomb ice-cream sundae
My goodness, I ate some crap today!
I really tried to restrict my protein and sodium for much of the day today, because I knew I'd be having a panzerotti for supper tonight.
6:30am: coffee
12pm: sliced cucumber tossed with balsamic vinegar, low fat frozen yogurt bar (it was very yummy), peach, Mike & Ike candy
5pm: rice cake, 1 slice of watermelon, a handful of small yellow plums, green apple and mixed berry sorbet
7:30pm: cheese panzerotti, peach, Sour Patch Kids
I had to do my best to estimate my totals. Based on the size of the panzerotti (I weighed it), it wasn't too bad. The only nutritional info for a panzerotti I could find included sauce, but this particular one was just cheese and the sauce was on the side. I threw away the included sauce and instead used that new sauce with only 30mg of sodium I discovered, so I think my sodium total was actually maybe 400 mg lower than what I have listed, which means I didn't go too overboard today after all.
Calories: 1347
Protein: 25.8 (I think I tried too hard to limit protein today, and the panzerotti didn't have nearly as much as I thought. Even if I'm underestimating the amount, I'm way below my limit, and I'm happy about that).
Sodium: Somewhere between 1000 and 1527mg - I think it was closer to the former estimate - pretty good for having such a huge cheat
I'm sooooo ready to start eating real food again, as you can tell. I'll be 9dpo tomorrow, and I'm praying I'll get an early BFP so I can reward myself with breakfast!
hi girls, just saying bye since I´m leaving on holiday today and won´t be able to get on much.
Got a BFN today on a real test, so I guess it was just an evap line.
swish, good luck with your attempt(s!), hope to find you in the 2ww when I come back.
zanacal, you´re doing great on the diet, keep it on!
DM, I have it all crossed for a bfn for you.
Have a great holiday Indira, I hope you come back with a BFP. Don't lose hope x
I hope today's your day too mocha :D I have no idea what panzerotti is so I'm off to Google it!
Deep fried, folded over pizza  Basically, it's a calzone but fried instead of baked. The one I had was tiny and not from a fast food chain but a nicer restaurant, so the salt content wasn't high, but it's definitely fattier than I should be eating. Oh well.
I got a BFN this morning at 9dpo.
I just realised I forgot to add my food for today!
Lunch: Apple & Custard doughnut and strawberry milkshake!
Dinner: Waitrose Mushroom Ravioli with Parmesan melted in half-fat creme fraiche, 2 boiled sweets.
Snack: ww ice-cream, tutti fruttis.
This is one weird diet where the best thing I can find to eat in my car after the supermarket run is a doughnut and a milkshake - I couldn't make any of the sandwiches or salads work!
swish - the Waitrose mushroom ravioli was so good and there was only 160mg of sodium in half a packet so I had the whole packet!
I'll definitely use the half fat creme fraiche again too (I think it's called sour cream elsewhere?) - it was really good with the parmesan.
Sorry about the BFN mochagirl, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
It's DH's birthday tomorrow so we'll be out for the day (no idea what we'll do for lunch!) and then I think an Indian take-away in the evening. Eek!
Mmmm...enjoy the Indian, Zanacal! As far as cheats go, it's not your worst choice - just stick with the vegetarian dishes and keep your portions small!
Another not so great day. I'd better be pregnant, because I'm already falling off the diet wagon.
6am: coffee
12pm: rice with balsamic vinegar, low fat frozen yogurt bar
5pm: I was planning a late supper, but I caved and had some Sour Patch Kids to keep me going
7:30pm: Greek takeout. I did the best I could: fries, tzatziki (yes, it has garlic in it, but otherwise is ok - it's nothing but yogurt and cucumber), Greek salad (I avoided the onions and olives and turfed the yummy, salty dressing and instead made my own with lemon juice, oil and oregano, so no salt except from the bit of feta on top), pita with roasted veggies - this was soooo yummy. I'm normally a souvlaki addict, but I think I'd get this veggie option again even once I'm no longer on this diet)
I don't have exact totals for today since I don't have nutritional info for this restaurant. As far as I can tell, I'm at about 1100 calories, 1000mg sodium, and 25g of protein. The sodium might have been a touch higher than 1000 since I'm sure that pita was pretty high in sodium. The only way I made it all work within the diet was by making sure to eat pretty much no sodium and protein the rest of the day, which meant I was STARVED by the time 7:30pm. Probably not a great strategy since I ate more than I should for supper. I have no excuse for the garlic except that I love tzatziki and couldn't imagine Greek food without it. Still, I'm pretty impressed I ate such a yummy, cheat meal and still stayed within the guidelines for the most part.
DH comes home tomorrow and I'll get back to eating normal diet food again...that is, unless I get my BFP
Hello!!
How is everybody? Any updates, mocha? Zani, great news about you helping out on the forum!
Haven't recorded food for a couple of days but it's been bad, it is ds1's birthday today and we celebrated today and yesterday and my food was not good! I haven't felt hungry though as I've had plenty of food so that's a nice change!!
swish - doesn't it feel good to eat some normal food for a day or two? I find I'm a lot less cranky when I'm not hungry all the time!
I used a FRER this morning with FMU and got a BFN, and just now (3:30) I used an IC and got another BFN. Tomorrow I'll be 11dpo, so if I'm pregnant I hope I'll get my positive then. I need to run out and get more FRERs.
I have lots of little niggly symptoms, but nothing that screams pregnant to me. I don't really 'feel' pregnant, but then again, I'm not sure anyone really does at 10dpo. Today I've had cramps on and off (which could be bowel-related), a runny nose, and yellow cm - it's not creamy, more watery. Up until today I've been so tired I've been practically narcoleptic - every time I sat down to read a book or watch TV, I fell asleep. Today I'm less tired, but I had a lot better sleep last night (my boys have been waking up at 5:30, but slept until 6:30 today).
I'm really, really hoping this will be the month, not only because of the diet, but also because if we TTC next month, the due date will be right around my twins' birthday, which would be hard on them.
Happy Birthday to your DS1 swish! Glad you had a good weekend, I wondered where you were :D
Still crossing everything for you mocha x
Today I had:
Lunch: Wrap with tomato and basil phili light, Velvet Crunch, White choc and strawberry cereal bar
Snack: Mini battenberg cake (shouldn't have had that really!)
Dinner: Indian take-away - small portion of vegetable curry with boiled rice and a corner of Naan Bread. 2 boiled sweets and a nectarine for pudding.
I didn't count anything today as I knew we were having the Indian. I was super good and avoided the chocolate fudge cake (which everybody else had hot with ice-cream for pudding!) and the next time I order an Indian it will be once I'm off the girl diet so I can eat something I actually enjoy!!
OMG, Zana - you deserve a medal for not having that cake. There is nothing better than warm chocolate cake with cold ice cream - I would have eaten it for sure. :worry:
I was so tempted mocha - I went through a phase as a teenager of having this just about every day - I was lovely and slim too :D
7am: coffee
12pm: 1/2 bagel with low fat peanut butter, yellow plums
5pm: rice pasta with leeks, zucchini and parmesan, 2 sugar free cookies, rice milk
7pm: raspberry frozen yogurt (at the movies)
Calories: 1294
Protein: 35.4
Sodium: 473

Indira, I'm really hoping you got a BFP again b/c I just saw your post and I feel completely gutted! How could that be??? I thought for SURE you were preg! When you return, I hope you can give us some good news!
Mocha, got my FX for you!!! I'm really hoping this is it!!!
I'm not stopping until all of you Mamas are preggo...EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!!!
(and hoping DM won't get a BFP until she wants one!!!) :cheer::luck::cheer::luck::cheer::luck::cheer::luc k::cheer::luck:
Zan - hope your mouth feels better...:HH:
Ootb, you're so sweet, hanging out with us until we all get bfps:)
Yes you are! My tongue is a little better thanks. How about you, how are you feeling?
My food for today:
Lunch: Crustless garden vegetable quiche (yuck!), Viennese Whirl, 2 boiled sweets
Dinner: 4 slices ciabatta, very small amount of red pesto, low fat mozzarella (yum!). mini milk ice-lolly.
Snack: Popcorn
I'm wondering if I should start a new food thread as this one could very well go on forever .... !
I think that's a good idea, zani, or we could combine it with the new chit chat one. Mocha, it was so good to eat proper food, my mil cooked home made pizza and onion and goats cheese tarts, it was delicious!! I also had flap jacks on ds's birthday, they are my favourite and I enjoyed every bite!! So sorry about bfns, mocha, but you're not out yet! Been a bit better today
No breakfast
Lunch pasta, green beans, balsamic glaze, little Parmesan. Strawberries and meringue, sweets
Dinner leek risotto with parmesan- this was lovely as used quite a bit of White wine.
I am so over boring food and still feel so negative, I feel 'm out before I've even started this month, I don't knw why!! :(
Continue here ladies:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...Diaries-August
I'll unsticky this one. If the new food thread doesn't get much usage I'll combine it with the chit-chat thread in future months.
That's enough organising for me for today, got to think of my T-levels :D
Yes, the T levels must come first!!!! Thanks so much for helping out Zanacal!! (but don't get TOO helpful!!) ;)
Hi guys just scanning this and looks this a great thread some fab meal ideas here for me to think about but where do i find the calorie sodium protein contents ? I could check all the packets everytime i buy or eat something i guess but is there a quicker way ?
Try using myfitnesspal... there's a phone ap, too. It's fantastic... Helps a lot! Just make sure the entries you use put the sodium on correctly! The uk lists things on labels differently so, 0.2mg sodium is 200... etc.
Ah - a blast from the past! I think this was our first food thread. Yes, I used FitDay to track my food, and I opted to enter everything manually as 'custom foods' using the information on labels simply because at least on that site there seemed to be a lot of discrepancies in the totals they had for certain foods. For example, for plain pasta and most cooked vegetables, it seemed to assume you were adding salt to the water, so the sodium for those items was really high. Since I cooked all these things with no salt whatsoever, I made new entries that reflected the way I ate those things. Once you add a custom food, it's saved for next time you use it. After being on the diet for a while, all my regular meals were saved there, so it took me minutes at the end of each day to add up my totals.
Another great resource I found while on the diet was this:
Calorie Count :: New Recipe
You can enter the ingredients and amounts from a recipe and get the full nutritional info per serving. This works great when you're doing your own baking!
My Fitness Pal has tons of foods in their database & they are accurate. Saves a lot of time! It even let's you enter your recipes & serving sizes too to figure nutrients.
ha ha ha that would figure why i only had 1.01 of sodium by yesterday lunch time !!! so what would 0.50 of sodium be in real quantity ? How can i work out the conversion as my sandwich contained 0.50 sodium, the bread was 0.32 and my crisps were 0.19 - im not on the diet yet was just writing it down to get a rough idea of what my limits are now and how i will cut them down. Thanks
This is a great thread, only found it now :) Mochagirl, can I ask how much balsamic, olive oil, oregano did you use to marinate the mushroom in for the mushroom burger that you posted about earlier in the thread? If you can remember :) I know it's a long time ago but said I'd ask on the off chance that you still had the recipe. I'm definetely making that burger!!
I haven't a clue! I doubt I measured anything - I probably just poured a good, generous amount of balsamic, used a teeny glug of oil and sprinkled in some oregano. I think when I made them later I left the olive oil out altogether.
