Do they freeze you before an episiotomy? I'm just curious cause it looks sooo painful.... My first son was vacuumed out and I had 3rd degree tares and when he stitched me up it took well over and hour... My vajay will never look the same lol.... O well

Holy Cow Thorz you are a skinny minnie! I hate you :P
The only time my water broke on it's own was with DS2 and honestly I hated it lol. I thought I had peed but it didn't feel like peeing so I got up to go tell DH and while I was standing there WOOSH it was like buckets of water falling out of me. He just sat there and stared at me, I shouted "dom't just look at me, get me a towel!!!" lol. With every cx more would gush out the whole ride to the hospital and while I was walking into the ER... it felt so gross. That was my fastest labor though, 5 hours exactly. Water broke at 1:45 and he was born at 6:45 but that was also the only time they didn't intervene to stop my labor since my water had already broken. With the other 2 they tried everything to stop labor but all it did was prolong it ugh.
As for epidurals I definitely want one for the pushing. I went all natural (completely unplanned- long story) with DS1 and ended up with 3rd degree tears because I panicked and forced him out being in so much pain. Wit DS2 and 3 I waited to get the epi just before pushing as I usually handle the contractions prettty well on my own. With the epi's I had no tearing or stitches which was amazing.
I'm really not worried about labor as my last 2 were really very smooth. The only concern of course is the health of the baby depending how far along I am when I deliver.

Hmmm they turn the epidurals off here for the pushing....
My first labour was 10 hours 2nd 30 mins and 3rd 2 hours.... I would like a four hour labour the fast labours come on bery intense.... With ds2 I was woken up at 3 am in crazy labour I swear I woke the hospital up I was screaming at the top of my lungs

Crashing your board here ladies....
Dltag---I had an episiotomy with my second and was TERRIFIED of another because recovery was horrible. This might be too personal to share for some but I researched for hours on how to prevent tearing or a need for cutting, I read over and over again to get the blood flowing to the perineum. How to do this? Orgasm. I used a vibrator like crazy the last month before birth, almost everyday. Doctor said I stretched beautifully and I didn't even tear a tiny bit. I healed sooo fast afterwards too! I believe the orgasms really helped. Also having baby in an optimal position will really help too.

Hmmm I was wondering if vibrators were safe during pregnancy lol I havnt use mine since getting preg thinking the baby might not like the vibrations lmao...... I will def up my sex lol so I get lots big O's ;) I did have lots of sex before ds3 and he was the longest delivery I've had 30 mins of pushing... I was going to do the perennium massage the last couple weeks

I made sure to use an external one just in case, lol!
I also read lots of orgasms makes for a happier baby ;-) So far Ds3 seems to be very relaxed!

Happy baby and a happy mommy :D lol I get really bad contractions after sex for about 10 mins but I had that with ds3 as well

Goodness!! I haven't been able to post for a day and so much activity to catch up on!
Fish-wonderful news about toxo. I have my fingers crossed for Monday. But so glad you are feeling more positive today.
Thorz-you are soooooo teeny tiny!! I'll post a pic soon and show you all what a heffalump looks like lol
Shining - congrats on a healthy baby. I think the last couple of weeks has proven to us all that that is ultimately what we all really want. Allow your self all the time you need to grieve the loss of that dream-it does not mean you feel any differently towards this little boy. I tried explaining to my husband when our last baby was born (out second boy) that I felt such disappointment he wasn't the girl I wanted but didn't mean I loved him any less, it's a hard concept to get when it's not happening to you!
Who have I missed?? DTA so sorry about your food poisoning and little bleed. I lost some of my plug with ds1 at about 30 wks. It does just keep regenerating. I ended up needing to be induced at 40wks so he stayed put!!
With my DD my waters broke at home with a gush!! Like you see on the movies! Contractions started soon after and once we got to hospital I had an epidural which allowed me to labour through the night and I delivered her first thing in the morning still quite numb and pushed her put with 4 pushes no stitches.
My 2 boys were both induced at 40wks. All my babies are over 9lb and my last was nearly 10lb. I loved I got to experience my waters breaking on their own but also now love the induction process. I find planning care for my others knowing DH will get my to hospital on time etc etc makes me less anxious.
Both boys labours have been incredibly quick. I dilate from 3-10cm in about half hr once they've broken my waters. I've never needed any pitocin. My last one I barely got epidural in time b4 I had to push. Again I did 1-2 pushes and out they came. Again no stitches. I'm very lucky- for some reason I'm just made to push out babies!! Lol my mum and did had a horrid time with labour and I just assumed I'd be the same.
I don't even need paracetamol afterwards. No swelling or anything. It's quite bizarre considering how big these babies are and how little my pelvis normally is.
Anyway my last one though had a bit of a scary moment afterwards. I hemorrhaged badly afterwards. And it will happen again. Apparently my doc said its like my uterus spits the babies put so quickly it then gets lazy and forgets to contract down so I could bleed out!! Anyway lots of meds managed to stop it and all those drugs will be ready to go this time round. So I have to be induced again a little early this time so as not to risk going into labour at home and bleed out b4 getting to hospital!
Anyway, northern I'm thinking of you constantly. Good luck today. I wish I lived closer and could come and support you. Help with kids, anything to make this time a little easier. You are a strong person, and we are all here for you when you want us x x x

Oh man, I realize most of you are asleep and that is where I should be too, but we were up late getting ready for the new carpet (DH is still working on it) and I took a tumble down the stairs!!! I think I may have broken my foot, and my hips are in a world of pain!! I was supposed to go to my OB appt tomorrow but it looks like I will be making a trip to a different doc!!! Bummer, I don't think my OB will be happy, I already had to reschedule last week to this week so by the time I see her it will have been 6 weeks and they like to see you every 4 weeks. Ugh, I'm probably in for it for the rest of my pregnancy!!!

Northern thinking of you today hope all goes as smoothly as it can x
