Did she say how low?
Oh no northern this bad news poor you what's a Papp level? When do you go back?
Thanking of you xx
4giffins super cute pics think not seek g anything maybe best option ;-)
0.21 but I don't really know what it means apart from they're worried! Apparently they like it closer to 1.0, and get worried when its less than 0.3.
Scan is on Thursday, so I'm going to be asking for them to pay particular attention to the placenta.
The midwife called back and said that as my NT scan was perfect and the DS risk was 1:70,000 they wouldn't want me to have a CVS or amino as they think the risk of a genetic problem is so low and lower than the risk of miscarriage from a CVS.
Diva so sorry you didn't hear girl your dreams have been shattered its a hard bump and your the first of us to have it. So sorry for you, people's reactions are the worst if I hear boy boy I wil tell people we opted not to find out at the last minute! People can't be rude when babies are here!
You will come to lie an treasure this lill man a gift of a healthy baby don't feel guilty for how you feel I honestly think its better to get the emotions of sadness over 'loosing' your girl out the way now so you are free to fall in love with this lovely little boy
Hugs xxx
Thorz a week how exciting never know could be more than you expect! I dreamt I was in labour last night woke up in cold sweat too much obem!
What about the materni blood test? I see babies with very low Papp come perfectly normal... I think this test does get a lot of false positives... Non the less I would be freaking out! That's so scary :( sorry this is happening ...
Ladies you are all such superstars so glad to share this journey with you I pray we all get our dream but I'm so glad we have each other as sadly I know most of us won't xx
Northern good news re downs fx for Thursday hope everything looks good then
Xx
They don't do the Materni21 test here and costs an awful lot, and as the risk of genetic problems is low itd be silly to do it. I'm going to ask the midwife if its possible to retest when I see her next week.
I'm hoping its all ok and works out ok, but the fear of stillbirth is going to terrify me from the last scan at 32 weeks up until the birth!
Ya that's a very scary thought... I would maybe get a Doppler so u can check regularly especially if ur at risk... Whatever you do dont google it cause u will just drive your self to insanity! Google never makes anything better
Yes, I'm staying away from google.
On a higher note u will be 16 weeks and might find out what the baby is
Well, I hope so! That's the reason we're going ;)
Dopplers quiet cheap second hand on eBay, I feel for you hun everything will probably be okay but having had two normal pregnancies with house/money stresses I was looking forward to really enjoying my last one but with all the high risk talk and scans and consultants I'm finding it hard not just to worry, feel a bit annoyed my enjoyment has been dented a bit ;-(
I feel the same way this whole pregnancy I have just been full of worry! And it's honestly getting in the way of bonding with the baby :( I'm hoping that now that I'm starting to feel it move i will start getting a stronger bond with it
I'm going to find out and only you guys will be the ones who know if it's a boy lol if it is I'm not telling any friends or family that I found out... I don't want to hear the stupid comments ... My anatomy u/s is booked for April 8 at 10 am 24 more sleeps!
Fish - I bought a more expensive wand doppler after my SIL returned my angelsounds one broken - no idea what she did with it! I found the heartbeat at 9+5 and listen every few days. I'll be more reassured when I can feel proper movements and will be using a kick counter to keep an eye on it. Can't believe I've still got 25 more weeks of worry! Then 18+ years!
Northern- sorry for the scare! Waiting and worrying are the worst. Hope you get better news if you're restested. FX!!!
You need to give me your sil's address she sounds like a right one ;-s
My cousin let me borrow her summer brand one when I was preg with ds3 I know it's a cheapy .... I was never able to find his heart lol... So the other day I take it out and for fun try and find it knowing I wouldnt find it and I didn't so I tried to find my heart lol and could bare find it putting it directly over it lmao what a joke... She claims she found her babies all the time I don't believe it
phew - took me all morning to catch up on posts :) I have my Midwife appointment next week so I'll find out when I can book my scan from there.
Is there a list anywhere with whos due when and what they are swaying for/having?
Yes there is I did one let me see if I can find it.........
Elements here it is xx
Anyone with an update let me know x
Hi everyone,
I didn't spend too much time on here yesterday and wow, this board does move fast.
Northern--I saw about your blood chemistry concerns. All those tests can have a lot of false positives. I wish you could get something more reliable like the MaterniT21 although that's Down Syndrome specific. Try not to worry too much for now. Whenever you get a certain result, they just follow their standard protocol for more testing. I hope you will get good news soon!
In personal news, I got a response yesterday from ColdWater on my in-gender thread about the 15 week scan. She commented on the poor quality of it but she said she is still pretty confident that we are looking at a little boy here. So with that said, I feel like I am getting some closure now even though I haven't had the 18-week scan yet. I waver between angry feelings ("why can't WE make a girl?!") and acceptance (sometimes even moments of excitement). I regret not even having attempted a sway (I was too impatient to get pregnant....) but you can't turn back the clock. I'm pretty sure though that not too long from now I absolutely wouldn't want to turn back the clock, even if I could.
Sorry for the long post. I'm so glad I can get on here. Have a great weekend! :Flower:
Diva there was a women on Ingender who swayed for two years and had a boy still, at least you've enjoyed stress free ttc ;-)
Gender scan in less than 5 days now! I'm really starting to feel its going to be a boy ;(
Can't wait for the update! And praying you hear pink :)
I'm a big snacker and eat loads, the ONLY thing I was doing was taking baby aspirin, so doubt that's done a thing. There are a heck of us on this month and we've had one confirmed boy and one girl, so you definitely haven't used up all the blue dust ;( I'm bound to get it.
Counting down the hours! 118 hours left!
That's totally normal!
