No, light tests at 9dpo DOES NOT mean chemical and no it shouldn't be "darkening up". the numberr one factor in the darkness of a pregnancy test is gestation and the difference between 7 and 9 days is meaningless. 7 days and 9 weeks, yes you'd see a difference in that time but in one day?? Doesn't work that way. YOu're actually lucky to even GET pos pg tests 9 dpo. The second fctor is the concentration of your urine and it is very likely your urine was just more concentrated the first test day and not the second.
It can of course be a chemical, just that the lightness of the test doesn't mean that. Personally, I strongly urge you guys not to test on 7-9 days past ovulation becuase it does nothing other than stress people out.
Atomic- any advice on my issue above with the OPKS and timing?

Thanks Atomic. I just assumed it should be darker lol. I know I shouldn't be testing this early, my common sense tells me not to but my common sense also seems to fly out the window during the 2ww :)
Lauren you could totally o today with a pos opk. I did this cycle and have on another. You'll have to see what your temp is tomorrow morning to know for sure. And a day before o or even 2 days b4 is really good timing!

Yep and it doesn't have to be a huge spike or anything. In saying that even if you get a spike you wont get crosshairs (ff puts in your chart to show day of o) until you have 3 or 4 days of temps over your calculated coverline or close to. Post a pic of your chart in the morning so we can take a look :)

The darkness of your test doesn't mean anything. IT's the first positive that counts, not the darkest. It is absolutely possible to O the day of a dark positive

Quinn my cycles are all over the place to. I went from 28-30 days cycle to 23,24,25,26,27 obviously not in that order lol. My luteal phase has stuck around the 12-13 though. Did you o earlier than normal? What is your lt phas usually?

And Quinn is it bright red like af blood? At 9dpo it could be ib? Usually its pink or brownish but I have read cases where its been red?

Usually my lp is 11-12 days so 9 is not good!! I'm starting to feel cramps but af probably won't fully start until tomorrow so that's how I'm going to count it. Right now there hasn't been any more blood since the first time and I've peed about 5 more times! I was hopeful it was ib but my skin breakout and cramps tell me it's af. I actually had a 23 day cycle around the time I got pregnant with my first dd so I'm going to try not to freak too much. Any tips for lengthening my lp?Quote:

Pbn- saved you for last as I wanted to see all your posts/updates before responding. Here is my take on your situation... think I've said it before, not sure though.
Each brand has it's advertised sensitivity level... FRER is 25 I believe. Which means they are manufactured to detect the hormone AT LEAST that early. Many are more sensitive than their advertised sensitvity, for example I got BFPs with my DD when my hormones were less than 13 (2 days before they were tested at 13) BUT... and it's a BIG BUT. Test sensitivities vary below that advertised mark. So one test may give you a BFP with an HCG of 13, but the same brand may give you a lighter test the next day because the test is less sensitive than the prior one. At 7-9DPO my bet would be that THIS accounts for your differences and I don't believe it's a chemical at this point. I am not fortune teller so I can't say what tomorrow will bring, but at this point I am still optimistic for you.
Also, With my DD I thought my lines were never going to get darker... I kept waiting and waiting but it seemed like an eternity before I had a noticeable difference.... and after being tested, my HCG levels were doubling better than expected.
Don't count yourself out yet hun. The fact that you got a BFP so early is a miracle!! It's also STILL very early. The boat may rock, but don't let it throw you overboard ;)

Ok, so paranoia alert, lol. As I posted this AM, my whole abdomen was cramping. That lasted about an hour. My right side went back to normal very quickly, while my left side continued to ache until about 2 hours ago. We are considering ourselves to be out this month unfortunately as I have a work seminar next week and will be away pretty much all week. We are still doing e4d until I have to leave on Sunday but our last attempt was late last night and I don't know if we will have a chance at all on Sunday before I leave! I will be due to O on Mon or Tue which are CD20 and 21. I spoke to my GP about getting Clomid, he doesn't know it would be for swaying purposes so he is having my Day 21 bloods taken next week. I have all the paperwork and he organised for it to be done at another practice as I won't be near enough to go to him. I am completely clueless about all of this but hoping someone here might have an idea - as my cycles are somewhat irregular and I usually don't O until CD21 is it possible that the test might come back that I am not ovulating? Since I will be ovulating only the day or possibly the day before the blood work is done? I asked my GP what course of action would be next and he said he wouldn't like to give me a RX for Clomid in case of hyper stimulation but we can talk more after the results come back.
Two I've got everything crossed that both sides oed! Can understand your nervousness in relation to attempts if only one side though. Do you know any odds of having both ready to pop and only one does? Or is it more likely they both did? Whats the earliest you could find out? All these questions lol
