It's really easy lovepink :) just have a few practice goes before you start for real. It needs only to be inserted far enough that the head of the bbt is completely covered. As a guide when first starting I would insert the bbt alongside my index or middle finger and insert to middle knuckle (so half a finger basically) then remove my finger to take temp. After a few goes you'll be fine and more comfortable with it. I then just gave the bbt a good wipe with an alcohol swab/wipe :)

Lovepink-agree with trying vag temps, much more accurate. I had never even thought of trying it that way until pbn & ash mentioned it, but it's super easy & no biggie!

soooo yah, probably shouldn't have been so honest about the clomid with DH....he's pretty freaked by it! :worry: he wants to call the doctor to ask a lot of his questions, which is not great...he's a lawyer and i'm afraid he's going to grill the poor ob LOL! any advice here???

Tell him that Clomid has been in use since the 60's, was invented a decade before that and investigated for over 10 years before it was put into use, it's on the WHO list of the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system, and has been used by millions of women and men (men use it for some health issues as well) with very rare and mild side effects. Millions of babies have been conceived on Clomid including some of the women who are now TTC on this very site!!

You only take it for 5 days, many days before you even release an egg, and it cannot harm a baby. In fact, it's been shown not to, and the only real risk to an unborn baby is if you took it while pregnant (so don't! and always take a pregnancy test the day you are due to start the Clomid even if you are 100% sure you are not pregnant!) Multiples are a concern but as long as you stick to the dose they give you, higher order multibples (beyond twins) are unlikely.

There are a jillion scary drugs on the market, and even more herbal supplements that people will swallow like TicTacs without any investigations, but Clomid I believe to be among the best and safest. :) HTH.

Pbn, yes he is ordering labs for me on CD3 and 21 (or 7 days after I O since it's a bit more unpredictable for me). Also doing the ultrasound to check for blocked tubes after CD3.

Atomic, oh its not me or my safety he's worried about, it's him ending up with twins. [emoji23] it took me months to convince him to just try for one month, that has turned into a few months, and now clomid. I think he's overwhelmed with it, and quite honestly just scared of doubling our children almost overnight, if that makes sense. Do you know realistically what the chances of someone taking 50mg from day 5-9 is for twins? Let's not even get into more than 2... [emoji12]

Max - just wanted to say again, my heart goes out to you!! My husband would be the same exact way. He's given me 2 months to TTC and definitely does not have the burning desire for another child like I do. Please don't lose hope if y'all decide to not use the clomid. You still have a chance, albeit only 10/15% thanks to whoever pointed that out to us [emoji1411][emoji12][emoji23] (I'm 35 too). It might have been you! Of all the people I know that have used clomid personally (I can think of 5 off the top of my head), none of them had twins. My Sis is one of those 5. And I have 2 friends that conceived the cycle after using it like XX so that might be common? I know it's late in NYC, I hope you somehow get some sleep tonight!

Haha Kat-I'm the one that pointed out how old we are 🤣I'm 38...only 2 more years for me and chances supposedly drop even more wahhhh.
Max-I feel like I've read somewhere that taking Clomid days 3-7 are the more common days for egg quantity (multiples) and days 5-9 are more for egg quality. If DH talks to your OB, I'm sure it'll reassure him. I'm also sure that it's not the 1st time someone wanted to ask your OB 101 questions [emoji12]
I'm really hoping & praying that I will have a solid smiley at a convenient time for BDing...ideally that would have been tomorrow (Fri). If I get a solid at the beach on Sat...I won't have the chance to BD until Monday. If I get a solid...I may try to get us home Sunday evening. We're not traveling too far, so may be doable!!

A quick update ladies ive been to the drs beta hcg negative, still not seeing anything but what i think are faint on hpt. Im absolutely devastated because i still feel symptomatic. All other bloods are good even my iron and all my hormones. My vitamin D was low so ill just be supplementing with that.

I have read up on my condition and alot of the things ive been feeling including nausea (which im just in disbelief- i don't remember this last time) can be caused by this. I had a scan in January due to mid cycle bleeding and there was nothing significant in relation to reemergence of varices.

The very heartbreaking part is this mimics early pregnancy right down to the bloated, nausea, achy, tired, moody feeling. I also have a watery discharge which im sure i had in pregnancy even my cervix feels different. I even have tender/lumpy BBs which I can't explain these. Treatment is limited as i had previous complications but the truth is I really don't have the time nor the money to be following up this. Last time I was at Uni and living with in-laws.

I really hope all of you wonderful, supportive ladies get your BFPs and DG. Ill certainly hang around to cheer you on.

Pbn its called pelvic congestive syndrome or pelvic varices. Just think varicose veins in your pelvis and i don't have them on my legs would you believe.

What really baffles me is i had nausea start suddenly in the early hours of Monday while I was at work 9 days after me and DH were intimate. I did have a period during this time but i just found it weird that it suddenly started then.

Im still using opks as I was trying to pinpoint where O is happening in my cycle but its just been disastrous. In preparation for July.

The only thing is ttc wise the extra pressure and blood flow from pregnancy may cause me more pain but its really unknown. I had treatment in 06/07 and had 3 further pregnancies with nil complications.

I had treatment 2006-2007 maybe 3 or 4 ops where they put coils and a glue to divert flow. One of these coils moved to somewhere in my chest field i think in one of my pulmonary branch's. So far its had minimal impact on my health but still a big worry.

I know Pbn. I m a couple of days late than before. That's the reason I did a digi just now. 8 more hours and I will O again on weekend. If it's tomorrow then night will be easy to do BD and next morning I have to take dd for a class early morning. I m hoping she takes a nap in the afternoon and we can BD again. Its up to you sky but I think its a good idea to bd as it ticks off one attempt already especially if you have good ewcm!! I wouldn't use preseed tonight in that case. Then if your smiley is solid tomorrow morning and you dtd tomorrow night that's two attempts done and dusted 😀 and if its still flashing then abstain tomorrow night and revert back to attempts at pos opk. Its a win win in my opinion!

Do you know what I'm saying, not sure I have the right words for this? My caps that go with that one are pink and I wonder if it's somehow unable to read the purple strips since I believe they are meant for the advanced digi. Am I wrong??

My temp went up this morning. Not sure if it is reliable since i woke up twice at 330 and 6. I took temp at 6am. I will save my excitement (yayyyy, hell yea. It's about dang time!) wait for tmr morning to see if it is truely going up

But could i have O already? If so, i only had a O-2 attempts....that is not strong for blue sway huh?
