Nothing is too personal for this site lol! I had an HSG after TTC DS3 for 15 months give or take. My OB had me have one just to make sure my tubes were not blocked and they were not, you could see the dye or whatever it is they run through the tubes. I did get pregnant the third month after I had it done, but may have gotten sooner had I not been allergic to the dye whatever it is, 'cause I got a uterine infection which I had to take vaginal antibiotics for and we could not attempt during that cycle due to the meds.

I have to be very honest with you that I will never have another HSG. It was very painful and traumatic for me. Some women have them with no problem, but I was one of the lucky women that the tech could not get to my cervix let alone get the fluid to go in. They had to literally put a stack of linen or towels under my bottom to prop me up high enough for him to get the tube or whatever it is they use to insert the fluid into your tubes. He almost gave up but at the last minute he got it and the pain from him pushing the fluid through my cervix and on to my tubes was excruciating for me. It only last a few seconds, but I almost came off the table. But you may be totally different. I have a retroverted uterus/cervix, so that is probably why I had so much difficulty. I wanted to be honest, but I hope I did not scare you away from it because I did get my DS3 after it.

I would get your DH tested. You can get the spermcheck at home kit to see if you need to see a dr first. We plan on doing it if we don't get pregnant this month. My DH is 40 so he very well could be the problem. If you DH does have a problem, maybe he would be more inclined to be nicer to you and apologize for being so quick to ask you why you are not getting pregnant if it is him and not you.

Im laughing,i think you have a condition called pregnancy brain ,well i actually have it pretty bad too i keep forgetting anything to do with numbers,even my own age lately<honestly...but anyways, uuum yes you congratulated me already,i think/???no worries:)I did use the Preseed and guaffenessin and Clomid too eeek,i have my scan end of the week:)

Well I'm already scared BUT I just want to be sure that my tubes are fine. I've only heard 1 non painful experience to 7 but u definitely had it bad! But now u have DS3 :)
I wonder why they call it dye :confused: do I want dye passing thru my tubes!? Had I known there was a sperm check kit I would've gotten it so long ago because I had a pre baby examination & he should've also! I try to tell him easy on the heat also (the gym, steaming shower,sometimes tight underwear because he's too lazy to buy a bigger size that fits!) unless I shower with him the showers are always burning hot! My skin has peeled before but to him it feels great!

I think the dye or whatever is nuclear and it shows up on the x-ray. Yeah you can get the spermcheck at CVS and Walgreens here in the US for around $40.

I second the spermcheck! I was actually thinking about you last night, Babylove, and told myself I was going to come on here this AM and recommend it but Kraizy beat me to it :) I have done it and, although it is a bit science-lab-like (make sure you read all the directions), it was very informative. My DH is certainly not a problem for us, according to the test and it gave us great peace of mind. I bought mine from CVS.com.

Trying to catch up on the boards..been away for the past couple of days..I am trying to process all this MTHFR stuff in my head and praying that God blesses me with another baby. I am probably going to test this weekend.

Thank you ladies so much! Well when they schedule my hysterogram he can come test with me and it's pretty much free for him so we'll take the easier route but that's after my results I might just get impatient and still buy it lol

If you DH is free of course go ahead and get it done. It's not anywhere free for me, so you are truly blessed.

for the HSG, I don't remember any blood work. Just the procedure.
