Hi ladies!
I found this thread and thought that I would jump in because I am like many of you and currently in the 2ww! I'm only 2DPO, but this is our 4th month ttc a girl, after 2 sweet boys (ages 5 & 2.5).
Our last boy is a failed sway with the dr. Shettles method. Back in 2013 I read the book, " how to choose the sex of your baby", and decided to try his method after my sister-in-law who has two boys and a girl, who she claimed she got using the Dr shettles method... But now after discovering this site I couldn't believe how different some of the pink sway tactics are compared to his. It all totally makes sense to me after reading TONS of Atomic's research findings. She is a fountain of knowledge!
I purchased a custom sway plan back in April and have been following it since June. We originally wanted to stick with a cut off as part of our sway, but after 2 months in a row with BFNs we decided to drop the cut off and aim for one attempt at +OPK. Last month was our 1st month doing it like that, and I happened to ovulate the day after my 1st positive OPK and then still got a bfn. Hubby had abstained for 6 days.
Now for this month (I linked my chart), we ended up with a 7 day abstain. My OPK was negative at 1pm on cd13, but then positive at 9pm, so we made our attempt that evening at 11:30pm, and my chart is showing ovulation on cd15. I'm hoping this worked but now I'm nervous about the abstain length because I have since read that it can cut odds of conception. DH & I are both 30 and when we got our boys it was super quick and close to ovulation with lots and lots of attempts. With the Dr. Shettles method it recommended to bd as many times leading up to the "cut off" day, which we did and then clearly got our boy.
We only want 3 kids so this is our very last attempt at a girl which is naturally making me a ball of nerves, but I've been trying to stay as relaxed as possible. One attempt at +OPK has been much less stressful than trying to plan a cutoff. It still makes me nervous though since we got both of our boys within a day of ovulation. But I realize one bd attempt is supposedly the trick. Along with that I've been following the le diet and the rest of my custom plan.
Anyway sorry this got kind of long winded! I just thought I should jump in with my story since I know many of you can relate.
Side note - I had a dull aching pain on both sides yesterday (more so on the right side) that lasted about 30mins. I also recorded on my chart that on day 7, I had a sharp stabbing pain on my right side at 12pm and then again at 10pm that night. I'm hoping these are normal pains and not an indication of a cyst or something else getting in the way of conceiving.
I just thought having ovary pain on cd7 was odd...
Thanks for reading my story, and goodluck to everyone!! :fx:
