Blessed momma. I am having a little shower. I have 2 boys and now am getting my girl too so my mom wanted to give me a shower just mainly for girl clothes and stuff. I can't believe it's only 7 weeks to go!! Can't wait to hear about all these new babies and the ones who were able to hold out and stay team green!!

Primal, yes we can buy floradix in England too. I'm trying spatone at the moment. It's a liquid form of iron so it seems to agree with me better. I have blood check this week so will b able to know if it has improved my levels.
I spent all last week washing and folding baby clothes- reorganising rooms etc... I'm definitely in the nesting zone. Baby will be sleeping with us for the first 3 months and then he/she will b sharing his/her little brother's room. As we don't know the gender everything is quite neutral.
I'm hoping I will be able to buy pink soon ;-).
I have never have had a baby shower. It wasn't popular in the uk w12 years ago when I had my first. But these days every one seem to have one. I do love the idea of getting all the women in your life to bless you and nurture ou for one afternoon.

I think that's the hardest thing about being team green. Having neutral things. Hope I'll be buying pink too but I had a dream the other night that sow one at my Drs office wrote the gender of the baby on a sheet in my file and I saw it. It said boy and I was so mad that I waited all this time and wanted to stay team green and o saw that!!! Then all I could think is I have to tell DH. I was so mad at my Drs office for writing on my file.
I wonder if my dream is right?!?!??

I'm still around :) This site is so buggy for me lately and my kids have been sick sooooo much that I haven't been on as much. We are still team green too. I feel like I know what baby is, but my track record is not good, so I could be wrong ;) We don't care much, so it's all good either way. I'm still pretty comfortable for 32 weeks. I get a scan for size on Tuesday. Excited to see baby Greenie!

I saw my baby on Tuesday and baby was already 4 lbs. so exciting!!! Only 8 weeks to go.

Sunflower must have been rocking to see little baby again doesn't look like you will have a big baby? Or do they just stack it on in the last weeks.... I had gender dreams with team green and with both DS2 and DD1 before the scan, I think its just such a big deal it can't help but influence you your dreams X

Babybeau: I could have written this post! Heart burns, under my ribs pains and even my sides of my butt hurt when I lie down...this is defo my hardest pg.

Lol my hips ache too when I'm sleeping! I'm 35 but honestly feel 10 times older, always complaining about my back etc!!
Lavie I am 43 so I really think I am way too old for this. DH wants another baby. I have no desire right now. Sometimes I think he wants 5 since we lost ID twins in December 2012. It was so hard on both of us and still is. Part of the reason why I stayed team green this time bc I don't want to focus on gender just a healthy baby.
I have nausea (still) heartburn back ache and spd. Really? This baby is doing me in but I'm still grateful to be having another baby. I'm trying to enjoy it and not want to rush it but when you feel so awful it's so hard to enjoy!

This has by far been the worst pregnancy. My boys were easy. I never complained! This one I have been complaining a lot!! My pelvic bones hurt so bad when I walk. I never had that with the other 2! I keep saying it's cause I'm older. I'm 35 and I am done after this one! Hope everyone starts to feel better. We are in the home stretch now!
Its been hard for me too! Just off to get my blood pressure checked as I have been seeing floaters and back to being exhausted again!. I'm 36 and my last pregnancy I was 31 so think that makes a difference. I hear you guys I too want to be enjoying it but instead I am counting down the weeks :( ... Oh well time will fly! Xxx
My MIL said to me today that there will be 5 girls soon??!!?
Then my midwife basically implied that baby is another girl as the heartbeat was "really fast!" (154)

I have a pretty shitty day too.
MW said I was going to have a giant baby as she measured me at 37 weeks (I'm 34) - how nice is that?
Then this afternoon I had a gynae appointment with a consultant who examined my pelvic floor as had a 3rd degree tear with my last baby. He's recommending a csection as he thinks this birth would b too much for my muscles and could have really damaging consequences for the future. I'm in shock as I have had 3 wonderful home births and really didn't expect that at all!
The decision is mine but I'm just feeling very confused on what to do...sections have their own risks too - I don't want to compromise my health either...
DH is out so have no one to talk it through... In need of a big hug ...
Oh no! A c section is not what you want to hear at all do you think it's as drastic as that?

i can't stop crying as I feel the power of giving birth myself is taken from me but of course I can't face a life of incontinence etc...would you take the risk? I am also thinking of microbinomes (any one watched Microbirth?), delayed cord clamping, skin to skin etc...
I will try to get referred for a second opinion and take it fom there...
Yes definitely speak to someone else. I really wanted a water birth so hoping baby moves into a better position.
I'm sooo sorry lovely ladies! La vie that must be really hard to hear after three home births.. I had two emergency c sections basically failure to progress both boys were posterior long labours and BIG babies. I found recovery okay and the whole operation not as nearly as scary as I thought it would be! I will be having a planned c section with this bub and I hear planned is very calm, controlled and you don't have the exhaustion of labour plus recovery of c section. Mrs incredible had natural births for all three and a planned c section for her fourth she might be a good person to talk too?
Baby beau isn't this the second time your mid wife has been terribly insensitive! Seriously DO NOT listen to her what a load of rubbish and such an OWT!!

Just fyi for those ladies experiencing SPD, lecithin can do wonders for helping with it for a lot of people. You can buy a supplement or increase your egg consumption to 2/day.
Oh LaVie.... I have had 2 emergency caesareans that were supposed to be homebirths. Brilliant labours, easy dilation but my boys didn't decend. With my second son I was dilated to 10cm & pushing hard for 11 hours!!! 4 of those were at the hospital waiting for surgery. After paying a fortune in scans & X-rays over the last 3 years it turns out I have a strange narrow elliptical-shaped pelvis & babies simply cannot get out. So this time I have elected a caesarean. I have seen Microbirth (my midwife & I are friends & we actually went together!) so she & I will be pioneering vaginal swabbing at our local hospital (as described in the movie) to help populate the baby's microbiome. I'm also eating a lot of fermented foods during pregnancy. Your decision is yours, but what I can tell you is hat caesarean does not have to be the tragedy that many in the natural birthing community make it out to be. Often, home birthing women are those damaged from a past traumatic caesarean. They go onto have a transformative VBAC & that is what you hear: caesareans are horrible & vaginal birth is wonderful. I believe there is significantly more gray than that. My first c/section was quite traumatic as it was totally unexpected. But my second, I had an excellent birth plan with some really simple strategies to make it better: monitoring pads fixed to my back instead of my chest. Heart rate monitors on my toes instead of my fingers. Dropping the curtain to watch baby being born, immediate skin-to-skin, no weighing or measuring until after the first breastfeed. I went to my gp to request another referral but after talking to him he said it would be unlikely to hear a different advice. He made me see that it isnt worth the risk. My family has been very supportive but really encouraged me to follow the advice of the consultant and deep down I know is the right decision.
I am in a much better place than last week. I have now accepted the situation, and researched a lot of strategies to cope with this way of delivery. I have written a birth plan including vaginal swabbing, and 'walking' the baby (I saw that YouTube video Primal, so enlightening) immediate skin to skin contact, delayed cord clamping- if possible at all i also wish to be able to touch Baby as s/he is lifted out. i am just hoping that my OB will have an open mind and able to help me achieve most goals ...I'm meeting the OB on 10th feb.
I am apprehensive about the recovery and bonding with the baby. I'm searching ways to stimulate oxytocin production which isn't so high when you don't deliver naturally... So far, nothing seems to get you that high you get after natural delivery. Will ask for hugs all around at the hospital ;-)
mrs incredible: I too have had really quick labour and delivery for my 3 DS. Always been near or on due date. You said they booked you in for 38weeks. Is that the norm- about 2 weeks before due date?

LaVie, glad you are feeling a bit better. It's disappointing to say the least being told that a section is your best option, but i honestly can say it wasn't nearly the trauma i was expecting it to be. I tried to look at the positives. And getting her here safely was my ultimate motivation for accepting it and not dwelling on the disappointment i felt. Ds2 arrived at 38+0 spontaneous labour one hour from waters going to holding him! Other 2 sons were 39+3 & 39+1. Because my labours were quick and before dd they didn't want to risk me going myself and staff inexperienced in breech deliveries looking after me. They usually only book sections from 39 weeks so i wasn't expecting to be taken sooner but it was reassuring that they were covering this angle. My worst case would have been a crash section and general anesthetic, another positive for the planned section!! Although there wasn't the high of a natural delivery, meeting my daughter, marvelling at her & bonding wasn't affected at all. I'd waited so long and was in awe of her, love at first sight. Just felt surreal. I made peace with the section because i really had no option and it had to be done. I would have loved it to be different but i still got my gorgeous baby, so it wasnt all that bad!! You'll have much more input into things than we have in the uk. It'll be so worth it!! Xx
You're right LaVie you won't find anything that gives you the natural high you get with a vaginal birth. It's the one aspect of my births that I do still grieve a little that I will never experience. What I can tell you is that not having "that moment" doesn't have to affect your overall bond with your baby. I was besotted with my second son the moment I saw him. The oxytocin flowed & through the oxytocin from breastfeeding it continued to grow. Surprisingly, my second caesarean was also transformative to the relationship I had with my first son, which was terribly disfunctional after my first traumatic caesarean. I felt the only way I could be healed was through a VBAC. Instead a CBAC healed the emotional wounds I had from my first caesarean. It was beautifully ironic, and honestly now I wouldn't swap my CBAC for a VBAC if I could. It taught me so much, made me more compassionate & less judgemental in all aspects of life. And recovery STINKS, but I'm hoping it won't be as bad for a scheduled caesarean as it was for the emergency ones after being awake for 2 days of labour beforehand.
Lavie - just a note to say I'm so sorry about your C-section . I was obsessed with having a med-free natural (ideally home) birth for DS1. I took the Bradley method course, read all the natural books and was so excited. Unfortunately DS1 was breech and I tried everything to turn him with no avail. I was so heartbroken leading up to my cesearean and cried daily. Something that helped me was hypnobabies C-section CD (I would listen and meditate to it daily and I do think it took away some of anger and anxiety about needing one!).
So I freaked out for no reason. The C-section was fantastic. Not the birth I wanted, but it was fast and scheduled and painless. The recovery was great for a scheduled C-section. I was walking around the evening of the surgery and by a week out I was feeling 90%. I can't compare it to a natural birth (unfortunately!), but now that I know what C section is like and know we are having twins I am opting to do another C section this time. I promise after he/she is in your arms you won't care how they were brought into this world. I'm mad at myself for wasting the last weeks of DS1's pregnancy being depressed and sad and I wish I would have just focused on enjoying my pregnancy. Good luck to you and if you do need a C section, I promise it won't be as bad as you think. Try not to dwell on it!
I was booked in for a section 5 days before my due date with dd4 because she was breech (I always go overdue tho) but I didn't need it in the end (after panicking and then building myself up for it!) As she started to turn and they gave her a nudge to help 2 days before. I still missed out on my water birth tho as they decided to induce me the day of the section instead. Ended up with a retained placenta and off I went to theatre anyway. I won't let them induce me early again.

I'm definitely grateful that I was a me to experience 3 natural births. I am much more positive today and see this as an opportunity to learn to let go and that I can't control everything ;-)
All that matters is that baby and I are healthy and well.

Haven't been on in a while. Its just been too hard after losing our daughter but things are getting slightly easier so I'm back and will see how I go, although I am sure things will get harder in a few weeks when I give birth to my little man and his angel sister. :(
Anyway, I am 33weeks+4days today but they won't let me go past 37-38 weeks so not long to go! Baby is breach though so I may be looking at a caesarian for the first time ever. I have given birth to a breach bub before (one of the twins were breach) but it was horrible and I don't think I could survive (literally) it again. I am super scared about my bleeding (I have always had severe PPH) being worse with a caesar and how I will deal with the post surgery recovery, but it may be the lesser of two evils??!!? I don't know, Im super scared about either option as nothing has gone right this pregnancy (have I mentioned that Ive also been diagnosed with gestational diabetes??!! on top of everything else!).
Anyway, either way I guess I don't have long to go! Although I am so over it all and it does also seem forever away!

Lavie: I am glad you are "coming around" to the way your babe needs to arrive. It must be tough, not knowing exactly what to expect and not being your ideal. But I do hope you feel peace with it when the day comes and your meeting of your little team Greenie is everything you hope for and more!
I'm still around, here and there. Im having some guilt issues because I am still desperately afraid of giving birth again. I just flat out don't want to do it. My last birth was a bit precipitous and, if I'm being honest, I don't want to be in pain like that again. I've had three natural, unmedicated births and am equally terrified of having another like that or having an epidural or other birth. I am going to start with a chiro soon and am having a friend giving me some prenatal reiki to help with my fears. I have a counselor, but unfortunately she is not well suited to birth fears. But I have discussed them with her. I have probably 4-5 weeks left and am just scared with how fast time is passing. I can't wait to meet my bub. But the fear is really holding me back this time.
Anyone else struggling with fears regarding this huge unknown? I'm sure many can relate (obvious Lavie can!)
I can relate to your fears hotdogz! I am terrified of the birth - whether I end up having to have a c-section or a natural birth - I am terrified either way!! :worry: I have never been so scared of labour before.

Sorry a few of us are having fears about birth natural or c section I think the reasons are all really valid. I hope you can all find the strength to tackle this before birth. As for me its a planned c section after two emergencies to be honest I feel totally okay and at peace with it. I only know c sections and that was after long painful labours where I would have done anything to get baby out. Reiki healing sounds like a great idea! I have heard hypno birthing is great too. Not long now everyone! :home stretch: I googled how to swaddle a baby yesterday baby refresher he he! X
