Ultrasound Dates

How come some of you get early scns at like 7 weeks ?
In the uk we only get one at 12 weeks which for me will be jan 21st ( so scan will be that week some time ) but im desperate to check everything is ok before xmas so although i have my booking in app tomorrow ( over the phone ) im not going to mention anything about n early scan though i will mention the loss in october and if she doesnt suggest an early scan i may phone the week before xmas and see if i can blag one. Naughty i know but i really dont want to be worrying over xmas especially as i have no symptoms !!

Mum23 I had one at 6wk5 days because of my loss. They had to check viability of this pregnancy..
It was absolutely awful though.. the room was silent and the tech wouldn't show me anything!

Oh, and they did find her heart was beating. My doc did call me right after the scan!

Here, we get a "dating" scan around 8 weeks ISH (depending when you find out your pregnant lol) to check the EDD. Then our next is at 20 weeks. That's all we get, unless you pay for private ones!

Definitely mention the miscarriage mum. My SIL got loads of early scans after getting pregnant again within 2 months of a miscarriage. And if that fails cry

Thats really bad, my booking visit was an hour and my midwife came to my house! It sounds bad but in my opinion go straight to your gp, lay it on thick tell him your worried and ask for a scan - just be aware they are emergency scans they offer you early so its needs to sound desperate (as its gynae not maternity) and they will send you the same day to wait around at the hospital x

I booked a private one. It only cost £60 which I thought was reasonable. It really did put my mind at rest. As it turns out I did end up having an emergency scan at 9 weeks when I fell down the stairs but I'm still glad I knew all was ok at 7 weeks.

Here, I'll change the dates from numbers to months:

AroundTheWorld- Jan 12th (gender scan @ 17+5)
CVD- Jan 3rd (gender scan @ 18+3)
Pearl327- Dec 14th (1st scan @ 10+4)
Sunflower3- Dec 10th (1st scan @ 7+1)
AndreaOD- Jan 9th (1st scan @ 12 weeks)
3boys- Dec 6th (NT scan @ 12 weeks)

I was going to do it this morning (honest I was) I was on the phone yesterday, back to the laptop today :)

mum23boys- if you really really want want can you go to a private place like the 3d places? not sure if you guys have those like here. that'll show you if there are 1 or 2 babes and that babe is healthy and growing:)

I havent got my scan date yet but i have received my booking in appt at the hospital for 27th december when i will be 8+3 this is when they will do other blood tests, take all family history etc - usually takes 1-2 hours but atleast its over xmas when iwould be off work anyway. Last time i had one of these meetings i was already huge and she sent me straight up for a scan thinking they ad my dates stupidly wrong so wanted to check i wasnt actually 15 weeks not 9 so might stick my belly out and bloat myself over xmas see if she will do the same again !!! ha ha
If not my first scan will be from 21st january onwards ..... just as i take on a new baby to look after and will need to book time off !!! grrrrr.
