For a first attempt at TTC a girl, is the every 4 day release with one attempt at a positive OPK preferable to FR every day 7-10 days prior to a positive OPK (also one attempt)? Or is the latter preferable assuming it's doable? I was considering the following:
DH releases independently once a day from maybe the end of my period to a positive OPK (nursing is giving me longer cycles of around 35 days and I've never used an OPK before, so I'm not confident about pinpointing ovulation) plus maybe even one release the day of the OPK before our one attempt. In terms of other sway tactics, I was just thinking LE diet, fiber, Metformin, Rephresh and the approved vitamins. Possibly an antihistamine. No Clomid, saw palmetto, peppermint tea, aspirin, cran, Vitex, licorice root for DH, etc.

I simply don't have the data to be able to say clearly what things sway more than other things.
A lot of people want to give it a try the first month doing everything they can in their power to sway and expect a BFN so they will have no regrets. As long as you keep the one attempt, I think any combo you feel comfy with is ok. What I DON'T want to see is people doing tons of strict stuff and then having more attempts to make up for it. One attempt appears to be doing the heavy lifting here and so any sway tactics shoudl be in addition to one attempt, not in lieu of it.
If you do go with the daily release plan, DO NOT have him release again before your attempt, you will have little to no chance of conception.

Hi sorry im getting really confused lack of sleep due to ds 3 not sleeping very well sorry i cant think straight! So lets say i ovulate cd18 i dtd cd 13 and then again cd17 would that be correct with dh finishing inside me both times or just on the cd17? Also if i have no idea when i ovulate as i have irregular cycles and may ov more like cd21should i attempt again then as it would be 4 days again since last attempt?

Yes, that's right. whether to have him finish in you is up to you. If you have irregular cycles, you can see that having him release inside every 4 days will guard against missing ovulation, such as having attempt CD 13 you are covered if you O CD 14 and 5, even up to day 16/17. then if you don't O till CD 18, you have attempt CD 17 and are covered cd 18, 19, even up to 20/21 and so on

Great thank-you for reply, thats what i plan to do then as my cycles can be all over the place opks stress me out as i would sometimes get false positives so i think dtd every 4 days will be perfect for me!

Sorry another Q
There is no mention of abstaining for 7+ days? This was what I thought was best. I really want to get preg quick but will do whatever it takes to have the best chance of pink.
Hubby has no issues abstaining although FR is too much for him so are we best abstaining? x

oh there's plenty of mention of it, just not in this thread.
If your husband is under 35 then abstain is fine. If he's over 35, I don't think it's safe enough option for my liking and you can read about that here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...over-35-a.html
